Re: Round Up: Here's What Critics And Fans Think Of The Resident Evil Netflix Series

Burntbreadman

Im like 4/5 episodes in and I must be one of the few RE fans thats enjoying the thing.
It doesnt take itself seriously at all the better for that cheesy B movie vibe (the whole sequence with arguably best character in the series say it all.....and moments after too......that super chessy delivery of a classic line also made me chuckle and cringe at the same time)

Im probably liking it more because I hardly like the games for the story but more for that comfy gameplay and some jump scares.

Im glad Im not one to just write something off just because of some opinions. (Works both ways though....found clocktower 3 and rule of rose for cheap recently........cult classics......supposedly.
dropped both within 2 hrs into the games)

Re: Review: Capcom Fighting Collection - An Essential Buy For One-On-One Fighting Fans

Burntbreadman

Any info on the 'EX' options for all the titles?
Trailers dont show much.....one with Puzzle Fighters where the secret characters can be selected (presuming the arcade originals you had to input a code to select them)

Whilst a there was a snippet of a darkstalkers where it looked like an EX option can turn off crouch blocking?
Be interesting to find out what other option are given (presuming they are like arcade dip stick switches)
Maybe infinate time in the rounds? Or unlimited super meter?

Re: Feature: Capcom Fighting Collection - Every Game, And Why You Should Be Excited

Burntbreadman

It was a surprise to see Hyper Street Fighter 2........I half expected to see collection containing

-Super Street Figher 2 Turbo/Hyper Street Fighter 2
-Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper/Hyper Street Fighter Alpha
-SFIV Arcade Edition/Omega SFIV

But at this rate it looks like Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper/Hyper Street Fighter Alpha/Omega SFIV will be lost in the future l. I half expected Hyper SF2 to be lost and never ported.
(SFIV QEwill eventually get a port on gererations down the line........)

Re: Binding Of Isaac Prequel 'The Legend Of Bum-Bo' Launches This Month

Burntbreadman

I mean when your game is struggling to sell on the PC (3 years after release) when it goes on sale for $5.......releasing it on the switch is a great way to get people to pay full price again.
Oh and why not just add another $5 to the base price.......you know Nintendo/console tax and all.

Not really attack on the game itself just tactic on not even having price parity on a port of a 3 year old game.
But it doesnt really come as a surprise being a Nicalis release and all.

But an criticism on the trailer at least (the could have used PC video) ........at least put direct control in a port instead of making you control a cursor (aka mouse with a stick) on a console port

Re: Dark Dungeon-Crawler 'Mistover' Being Removed From Sale At End Of June

Burntbreadman

I considered picking up the retail Asian version (with eng) but was put up by reviews.

Part of me wants to pick it up (FOMO) and even added it to the basket after reading this article.
But I realise Id be breaking vow to only buy stuff I want to play (generally Im a sucker to dirt cheap games just because they are cheap. Buying due to FOMO is probaby just as bad)

Re: Klonoa Collection Frame Rate, Resolution And File Size For Switch Revealed

Burntbreadman

Despite not being ideal (personally I prefer a hit to the resolution than the frame rate.......I say this but mutants year zero was probably a step too far)...... Some credit must be given to Namco for being partially transparent about it.

Most others would just say it runs at 60fps (or not even mention a target fps for the title?)

As long as its relatively stable I dont mind the dips.

Re: Strategy RPG Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord Launches In Japan This Year

Burntbreadman

Fairy fencer is definitely one of the better CH games.
I can deal with the switch to a srpg.....I mean the other games were essentially srpg (just without the grids)

But a rehash/reboot kinda puts me off. If it turns out into a "what if" scenario, it might be ok.
But it its just 90% retelling then Ill be questioning myself what is the point of it.

Ill still pick it up but I may not end up playing it till years later , unless its more than a retelling (story is still relatively fresh in my head)

Re: Neon Action Shooter 'Furi' Gets New DLC And A Free Update Later This Month

Burntbreadman

Big fan of the game.
Dunno what to think about the DLC.........would have much prefered new boss battles.

But hey if the character plays dramatically different Ill take that.....I what they could do to make him pay dramatically different.
Only thing I can think off is to incorporate a bullet abortion/parry instead of a dodge move?

Im not writing the DLC off but Im defo curious to see some more info on the DLC.

Re: Bandai Namco Is Working On Another Dragon Ball FighterZ Game Balance Update

Burntbreadman

@MasterGraveheart Leaving Android 21 (lab coat) the way is is has already done so much damage to the competitive scene so far (and thats just the lack of communication from Namco on if they are going to balance her)

Doing nothing could damage Namcos other series (eg Tekken/Soul Calibur) where people (FGC) think Namco just dont know what they are doing about balance
Upsetting/annoying your core customers is a sure way to increase sales right?

Re: There'll Be A Playable Demo Of Capcom Fighting Collection At Combo Breaker

Burntbreadman

Only aspect Im curious about its the Enhanced EX setting.
They showed pocket fighters this time and Akuma being avaliable (presuming he wasnt avaliable in the arcade version without a code)

But it was with the last trailer and Dark stalkers Im more curious on. Whether it just means it with have the (small number of EX/DX options found on the home releases) An increase in EX options or being able to mix and match different character revisions ala the PSP release.

Or something else entirely eg a whole set of new EX options

Re: Splatoon 3 Will Supposedly Be "One Version", Could Regional Issues Be A Thing Of The Past?

Burntbreadman

I can kinda see why they did it to begin with.
Internet infrastructure is different world wide and distance can make a difference. (More so with with splatoon 2s peer2peer conections?)

Presumably they have improved their servers/set up servers instead of peer2peer using all that NOL money and thus providing a stable connection for all (well at least prevent one or two dodgy connection preventing it being a crap show for all)

Or they could do what every one else does and allow you to select your region in game.........or more advance (but still common) practice of matchmaking same local people together.
Unless someone has a decent stable connection/there are player sortages/teamed up with friends/etc

Re: Hectic Survival Arcade Shooter 'Groundskeeper2' Is Out Now On Switch

Burntbreadman

The super crate box vibes interest me but the single layer aspect less so......I might have to google if it remains like this throughout.

The title never really caught my attention because of the controls and the f2p nature (cant be dealing with ads when I have 5 min free here and there)

That said kinda like orangepixel games on mobile hoping for a port of space grunts 2.

I would have probably brought the game had I not know it was free on mobile........one to snap up on a sale I guess.....if I remember to

Re: Talking Point: How's Your Switch Holding Up After 5 Years?

Burntbreadman

My day one console is still fine I think.....I pretty much swapped the joycons for hori split controllers before any drifting could happen.

Only issue could be the battery? I play exclusively handheld but depending on what Im playing I get between 1 1/2 - 4hrs of playtime max.

Id say it closer to 2hrs for the majority of games (VN tend to drain the battery slowest) . I do have a OLED sat in a box.....I just dont fancy downloading everything.......and whilst my original works fine, I dont see the point.

Re: Thousands Of Dollars Of Rare Factory-Sealed SNES Games Unearthed After 27 Years In Storage

Burntbreadman

Without going into too much detail.
A friend of a friend recently come into a haul of sealed pokemon booster boxes (Original, Jungle and fossils) I told them they are worth a bit......they sold a box for more than what I earn in 3 years lol

Buyers seemed happy enough that they passes his info to a 2nd buyer who then brought a box.

Shrug some people are so lucky XD (I was offered a box for letting them know and that..........but Im still waiting for it lol.....I dont seriously expect to get one)

Re: Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival Arrives On Nintendo Switch This Year

Burntbreadman

As long as the 70 odd songs are mainly new stuff Ill snap it up (most likley import)

It might not beat some of the recent track lists in quantity but it still beats the PS2 days with 30-40 songs.

Still hoping Konami one day will revive its CS Bemani series one day..........(Ill take anything beatmani, pop n music, gitadora just throw us a bone Konami)

Re: Yacht Club Games To Share "Groundbreaking Announcement" In Upcoming Twitch Broadcast

Burntbreadman

@StefanN
Honestly a Microsoft buyout sound about right to me. (Not that I want this to happen)
The announcement of any new game wouldnt be a historic moment either to Yacht Club Games or the wider gaming community.

A buyout sound more of historic moment (to Yacht Club Games at least)
Unless they are planning to release a Yacht Club Console or something?
Maybe turning Shovel knight into a cartoon (cross media step......kinda historic)

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life's Biggest Gaming Regrets

Burntbreadman

Ive made some trade in mistakes as a kid (limited funds and all)

I traded in terranigma and got like £20 credit.....but saying that I paid like £20 for it to begin with. When telegames (?!) mail order company that advertised in CVG had a sale. So it felt like a good offer at the time.

But Biggest mistake was a Majoras mask adventure set. For whatever reason my woolworths was selling it for like £20.
Problem was I didnt have an expansion pak.
I happened to win a copy of donkey kong on swapitshop but couldnt play that either.

Not being the biggest zelda fan (and still think they are a tad overated) I traded it in for an expansion pak so I could play Donkey Kong........in hindsite I probably shouldnt have

Re: Xbox Boss "Trusts" Nintendo To Not Do Anything That Would Harm The Games Industry

Burntbreadman

He does speak some sense.
Id rather Microsoft buyout sectors of the industry than say Google,Amazon or Apple.

You know Microsoft are heavily invested in the gaming industry. So even if it means Ill have to invest in an Xbox......theres a better chance of those companies survival than if they went with say Google

Yes I know Microsoft doesnt have the best track record .....rare.....cough....cough.
But its probably still better than google track record for pulling out entire product. (you know they will pull the plug on Stadia sooner rather than later)

Microsoft buying out chunks of the sector is the lesser of the two evils in my eyes.
Sure it might not be the ideal solution for consumers.......but it will probably benefit the industry as a whole (unless Microsoft start controlling waht every studio makes......Im.sure they have learnt from Rare though)

Re: 'Video Game Swap Shop' That's Saving People Thousands Reaches Business Award Finals

Burntbreadman

I dabbled with something similar over 20 years ago.
You used to put your items up for bidding and gain points which are used to make bidding in the future.
It covered more than just video games.
I got so many N64/PS1 games and music albums back in the day.

All for the cost of a few singles (CD) that I didnt need as I picked up the album laters.
And some common bundles of pokemon cards.

The website obviously wasnt sustainable (there was no membership fees and there wasnt even paid advertising)

Re: Voice Of Cards: The Isle Dragon Roars Adds A "High Speed" Mode

Burntbreadman

@NoxAeturnus
Nah its pretty easy if you keep up with your upgrades (which is easy to do at least for your main 3 team)

I dont think I lost a single battle till the final boss.........where I ended up using my stock pile of 10+ revive potions.
I dont know whether it was just my team set up but that was a reletively tough fight even after I had a go figuring out what to do first

Re: Wounds Of Eventide Free DLC Is Now Live In Blasphemous

Burntbreadman

I found the difficulty resonable for 90% of the game.
The only issue is if you choose to zig rather than zag, early on.

Theres one area thats fustrating enough as it is but is made 10x worse if you choose to tackle it first (mainly due to not having enough health upgrade meaning you have to know the area really well)

But honestly I dont have the time to replay for the new stuff (especially because it was a 7/10 game for me)

Re: Switch Port Specialist Saber Interactive Is About To Reveal Multiple New Titles

Burntbreadman

As a multiplatform gamer.....something thats ideal for portable but would be challenging tp port.

Even though I picked it up recently..... Noita, Id say is an ideal indie title.

At a glance its something you would think would be ported to the switch easily but I believe the physics simulation would be pretty taxing on the switch CPU. (It would turn to a slide show without optimisation)

Re: Spiritfarer's Final Free Update Is Also Its Largest Update Yet

Burntbreadman

I loved the game despite the problems it had.
(biggest of which I felt was underdeveloped characters/stories........which I later found out is filled in by a kickstart backer artbook or something)

But Im in two minds on these indie titles that keep updating.
I wished physical titles dont get released till its complely finished eg no more updates
It not even to do with game preservation as a collector but more, I dont have time to return to games I previously "finished"

Re: Tails Of Iron Gets Expansive Free 'Bloody Whiskers' DLC

Burntbreadman

I enjoyed the game but not enough to return for the free DLC. It was about right in length (combined to the reletively limited combat options) I feel going through the DLC might stretch too close to the "outstaying its welcome"

Theres nothing really RPG like in the game (outside some repeatable kill/fetch quests).....just saying incase someone is expecting a full blown story and leveling up, style RPG.
