Shantae was a great start, the rest was a wash for me.

I'm glad they are keeping Tetris 99 alive, but maybe F-Zero 99 could get some themed pilot cards or vehicle skins? I just hope that game isn't left out to dry after the last update 😕

X and Y were truly special. Full 3D Pokemon adventures with a customizable trainer. It was the last time my friends gave the series a shot, with some great trades and battles as we played through it simultaneously. If it had proper endgame content, it would probably be my favorite generation.

I bought one of these for my little brother before the Switch released, but I stuck with my New 3DS XL. If I come across one in the wild, I'll be tempted to pick it up. I always found the form factor to be interesting, and the L/R buttons feel pretty nice.

Predictable with the closure of the eShop for these systems, but this still saddens me. The 3DS and Wii U mark an era that saw my early struggles of independent adulthood, dating my eventual life partner, and starting my current career, among many other life events. Time to meet some more random hunters on MH4U while I still can 🫡😭

It's really hard to say which one I prefer. I leaned towards the original, but they each have strengths! I think the bloom is overdone on HD and some of the color palette changes are a little too saturated, but on the other hand I never thought the color palette of the original was all that appealing either. I do really enjoy the way sailing looks in HD with the cloud shadows!

None of my friends owned Amazing Mirror growing up, so I only ever got to play it solo. I'm very excited to finally play cooperatively!

@FishyS Trust me, surviving a match is half the battle (race?)! It's an especially useful skill for progressing in a Grand Prix!

I loved this series as a kid! I had so many of the action figures and they were awesome. I might have to pick this up considering I never got to play it previously!

Both covers are severely lacking stars! 🤭 Jokes aside, both are solid, but I feel the art style on Japan's is a tad stronger.

I knew something was afoot when the "Alien Hominid HD" tile on my Series S changed to "Alien Hominid 360". I poured a lot of time into both the GameCube and 360 ports back in the day. Especially PDA Games!

Shout-out to Last Hero of Nostalgia. It's a pretty solid souls-inspired game with some decent humor and countless references to other games.

Chibi-Robo. Poor little bot got mistreated ever since the first game by subsequent releases changing the controls and/or core gameplay.

I found out about Minus World from a new hire I was mentoring at my job. After he described it, I looked up the exact method to get there online then did so. Very interesting glitch!

I was born in 1992 and as a very young child, All Stars was the first version of these Mario games that I played. I have a soft spot for them, and revisiting it years later I can see little flaws. Nowadays, I prefer the graphics of all stars but the movement/mechanics of the NES games. So they each have their own charms for sure.

Tears for sure. While I have enjoyed various other releases this year, Tears once again found a way to make me excited to explore an in-game world again. While I have made it to the credits, I'm still dipping back in to fill in the depths map and find more outfit pieces, and I'm enjoying every second of it.

It's too bad the Wii U bombed like it did, because Nintendo Land and Wii Party U are still among my favorite Nintendo party games, and it would be awesome to see a sequel to either.

@MSaturn If/when it goes on sale, I'd say it's worth a look if you're interested. There's certainly some grind involved, but you'll earn in-game currency for playing any mode, and you'll get a ton just for playing through the story.

I was very happy with this game after I bought it at a discount. Lots to grind for and the online is actually fun! It's just too bad the menu music will make you want to scream.

I'm still playing, but much more sparingly as I have seen the credits, completed a large portion of the shrines and found all but ~5 light roots.

Open world games that are underpopulated/more vacant are why so many of them falter. Tears handled it right in my eyes, and I prefer it to BotW. Both are still stellar games regardless.

This was a neat part of my playthrough as well! I wanted it to be one of my first stops but I got so distracted exploring the rest of Hyrule and the depths that it took me awhile to actually find the Plateau again 😅

@Nanami_Ataraxia It is! It's seriously the closest thing they could make to a "Final Fantasy Pokemon" 😆 With captures, evolutions, and turn based combat!

As a fan of both MH and Pkmn, Monster Hunter Stories 2 gets my vote for sure. The story gets a little exhausting but the battle system and art style are fantastic. If only they bothered to port the first game to Switch!

Perfect marks from me. It exceeded expectations, improves on BotW in every way, and I'm still addicted to exploring the truly vast world.

I strongly suggest researching this game before jumping in. Despite my love for small engineer rodents with weapons (ala Ratchet and Rocket), I found this game to be very bland.

I gave it an 8. Great fun all around, good quality of life adjustments, the music is incredible, animations and voices are enjoyable, I just have to dock points for online multiplayer being friends-only and the inconsistency of which lines are and are not voiced.

It's odd that online multiplayer is specifically against friends (no option for randoms), and this isn't considered a con?
Otherwise I have this pre-ordered and look forward to playing day one!

I went my whole childhood only using the Transfer Pak to play the Gameboy Pkmn games on N64, I never actually transferred anything between games and beat every cup using rentals. With that being said, playing on Switch is giving me crazy nostalgia and I'm having a blast 😎

Won't be watching, I've seen all I need to and I'm buying day one!

Base 3DS, upgraded to 3DS XL, upgraded to New 3DS XL, imported a Japanese base 3DS, then imported a Japanese New 3DS XL 😅 And I more or less inherited my wife's forgotten 3DS XL...So my current ownership is 3, but overall that would be 6.
