Re: Soapbox: 3DS' Boundless Creativity Got Me, And Nintendo, Through Some Tough Times

The 3DS was a huge deal to me as well. It released at a difficult period of my life where it seemed everything kept changing, and stress was piling up. The 3DS played a big part in helping me cope, and I adored every little feature of the system (even the original extending stylus). I especially remember moments like relaxing with the AR card fishing game, being impressed by the controls and atmosphere of RE Revelations, how natural gyro aiming felt in Ocarina of Time 3D, and the thrill of how MH4U completely overhauled the classic Monster Hunter controls.

It's a tie between Luxray and Staraptor for me. I adored the first two gens as a kid and when gen 3 came around, it wasn't "cool" to like Pokemon anymore. Then my curiosity got the best of me in highschool and I started a new file on my brother's old Pearl cartridge and got hooked. Luxray and Staraptor never left my party and they represent my return to being a Pokemon fan.
