I'm very thankful for Capcom putting their entire library on sale. I ordered an eShop yen code from PlayAsia just so I could download EX Troopers, MH Diary DX and Geist Crusher God on my imported 3DS!
The 3DS was a huge deal to me as well. It released at a difficult period of my life where it seemed everything kept changing, and stress was piling up. The 3DS played a big part in helping me cope, and I adored every little feature of the system (even the original extending stylus). I especially remember moments like relaxing with the AR card fishing game, being impressed by the controls and atmosphere of RE Revelations, how natural gyro aiming felt in Ocarina of Time 3D, and the thrill of how MH4U completely overhauled the classic Monster Hunter controls.
I'm all for expanding weapon options to experiment with combat, but knowing everything breaks permanently made me avoid using the best ones the majority of the time. It definitely is a system that can be improved.
I always made fun of Baken Potaitos when my step-brother played it back in the day, but never gave it a shot myself. I'd be down to check out a remaster or remake!
The price isn't even a problem here, it's the lack of QOL to things like the UI that make this not worth it. I'll stick to buying them on Steam for the mods.
Still no way to change the awful menu music and no mention of if Cloud is rejoining the shop to align with the Midgar course (but here's hoping that he does)...
Nintendoland (duh) 😉 Solid single player and multiplayer content and lots to unlock via pachinko! ZombiU was a great experience but the sheer content and polish on Nintendoland edges it out.
Between the continued performance issues and the option to break the intended flow of gym encounters (but no level scaling mechanic to accommodate this), I'll be giving this one a pass unfortunately.
Ever since I rediscovered my love for the series with Gen 4, I've named every single 'mon. It's cheesy, but it makes them feel less like a means to an end during combat for me.
Not that it would happen any time soon, but the lifespan/playability of this game being very finite as an MMO along with the pricetag are a pass for me. On a minor note, I never understood how the game's name stuck. It sounds like stuttering.
So only focusing on Deep in Abyss mode, outside of the cycle of taking/turning in quests to progress the skill tree, what is the endgame? I'd imagine there's a point where you stop getting deeper into the abyss? Is there ever any variety in the equipment you make/use?
@Fizza The idea of it is much more intimidating than its actual presence in the game, much like what @patbacknitro18 said. It's a very interesting and rewarding game for sure!
"That first number is odd so just ignore that (must be a placeholder), but the other ones likely hold real significance..." I have a hard time following this train of thought.
Due to the unreal value of the Gamecube original, it would be neat to see a re-release. The four handheld games wouldn't be so simple to port though. For anyone interested, there is a fan project in the works to translate the oft-forgotten (and much cheaper to buy) Wii port of the original Chibi-Robo!
It's a tie between Luxray and Staraptor for me. I adored the first two gens as a kid and when gen 3 came around, it wasn't "cool" to like Pokemon anymore. Then my curiosity got the best of me in highschool and I started a new file on my brother's old Pearl cartridge and got hooked. Luxray and Staraptor never left my party and they represent my return to being a Pokemon fan.
@Cia Correct, this is an arena map introduced in Gen 2 and revised in Generations. I still have PTSD from my first Silver Rath hunt in Freedom Unite there...
So excited for this! I just got to the "end game" portion and still blown away by the content on offer here. So many quests and side quests to clean up, I'm very satisfied with this release so far.

Re: Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Version 1.2.0 Launching "Late February", Here Are The Full Patch Notes
When this gets a true performance patch I'll be down to snag a copy! Until then, there's too many other games to play.
Re: Square Enix Rolls Out Chocobo GP Version 1.4.1, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Still waiting for an option to change the menu music 😩 Otherwise I'm enjoying this game a lot.
Re: Quiz: Are You Ready For Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom? Find Out With Our Fiendishly Hard BOTW Quiz
Oof I got 10. I knew I was doomed when I got to the shrine name question (but hey I recognized about half of the references) 😆
Re: New Kirby's Return To Dream Land Deluxe Trailer Showcases Magoland Mini-Games
Unlockable character masks is also a cool bonus!
Re: UK Charts: Fire Emblem Engage Tumbles Down To Seventh Place
@BTB20 Oh I wasn't making a real statement about the sales figures, just saw an opening for a silly "engage" joke 💀
Re: UK Charts: Fire Emblem Engage Tumbles Down To Seventh Place
So consumers are less engaged in it as of late?
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Viewtiful Joe
Leaning on North America's detailed box art, but all of these covers are masterpieces!
Re: GoldenEye 007 Shoots Its Way Onto Nintendo Switch Online This Week
I hope this means we get low-poly Pierce Brosnan NSO avatars too 😂
Re: Poll: Do You Want Weapon Degradation To Return In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
I'm all for expanding weapon options to experiment with combat, but knowing everything breaks permanently made me avoid using the best ones the majority of the time. It definitely is a system that can be improved.

I always made fun of Baken Potaitos when my step-brother played it back in the day, but never gave it a shot myself. I'd be down to check out a remaster or remake!
Re: Random: Fan's Recreation Of Radiohead Album Using Mario 64 Music Is Utterly Brilliant
First you post banger ska remixes, now there's a banger Mario 64 sound font remix?! Keep them coming! 😎❤️
Re: Simon Pegg Is Heading Back To School As Hogwarts Legacy's Headmaster
More Simon Pegg is a huge plus! Can't wait to play this one.

Re: Back Page: How Many Eyes Does Sonic Really Have?
He has one big eye with two blinking pupils. Clearly his eye is in a league of its own!

Ever since I rediscovered my love for the series with Gen 4, I've named every single 'mon. It's cheesy, but it makes them feel less like a means to an end during combat for me.
Re: Review: Sonic Frontiers - A Bold But Ultimately Failed Attempt At Something New
Well at least this is a negative review that doesn't make an obligatory 'Sonic 06' comparison. Just a watered down port of an otherwise solid game.
Re: Modern Revival Of 'The Oregon Trail' Is Heading To The Switch Very Soon
Switch really needs a port of Organ Trail! I had a blast with it on PS4.
Re: Build Your Own Fiendish Levels In Blue Fire's New Free DLC, Out Next Week
I've always been on the fence about this game. A level editor has tipped the scales, I'm buying now.
Re: Talking Point: Would You Prefer 'Super Mario Odyssey 2' Or A Totally New 3D Mario?
Come on Super Mario 128! 😉
Re: Review: Alan Wake Remastered - A Modern Classic Returns With Major Visual Downgrades On Switch
@ChaoticIgnorance Probably the same reason Dark Souls Remastered on Switch doesn't deserve the "Remastered" monicker: Lazy third party porting 😞
Re: Review: Alan Wake Remastered - A Modern Classic Returns With Major Visual Downgrades On Switch
This almost looks like a scrapped Wii port 😆 I also loved the way this review was written up. Very well done.
Re: Review: Dragon Ball: The Breakers - Dares To Be Different From Other Dragon Balls
I wonder if they worked on balancing, because my time with the beta never saw Survivors get even close to winning a match.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Pilotwings 64
Japan is only slightly ahead in my eyes but both designs are solid 👍
Re: Rumour: Possible First Look At Mario's Movie Face Appears Online
This really isn't bad, I think the only edit I would make is just make the eyes slightly bigger. But I'm sure this looks fine in motion.
Re: Review: Temtem - An Innovative Pokémon-Like, With Depth And Grind In Equal Measure
Not that it would happen any time soon, but the lifespan/playability of this game being very finite as an MMO along with the pricetag are a pass for me. On a minor note, I never understood how the game's name stuck. It sounds like stuttering.
Re: Apple Arcade Launch Title From Key Bravely, Octopath Staff Out Now On Switch
This looks like a dialed-back Darkest Dungeon. Is this like Darkest Dungeon?
Re: Poll: So, How Are You Pronouncing Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
The Legend of Zelda: Boohoo Government
Re: Talking Point: What Did You Think Of The September 2022 Nintendo Direct?
Underwhelming for sure. Kirby and Pikmin is good, Tears of Kingdom name and date is welcome, Pkmn Stadium 2023 is cool, not much else for me.
Re: More N64 Games Are Coming To The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack
I wish Stadium was in that first batch, but I'm still excited!
Re: Random: Switch eShop 'Team Picks' Logo Looks Awfully Familiar
Jon is still making NL content indirectly 😆
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Mega Man X
When it's Mega Man, Japan box art gets my vote every time. It took the west awhile to get it right 😑

Re: Mini Review: LEGO Brawls - Disappointly Basic Brick Battles That Stutter On Switch
Oh wow, I was somehow under the impression this would be free 😅 Yeah that'll be a hard skip.
Re: Nintendo Download: 1st September (Europe)
@Mattock1987 Agreed. I'm thinking it either has an aggressive review embargo or review copies weren't distributed. Both scenarios would be worrying.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel - Castlevania: Circle Of The Moon
The one with a guy or the one with all of the detail? 😆
Re: Random: This Giant Inteleon Plush Is The Most Threatening Pokémon Merch Ever
Yeah that Amazon linked plush is super janky. Look at those hands! And the line between the eyes?

Re: This Game Boy-Inspired Handheld Is A Budget Answer To Modern-Day Retro Gaming
Pretty neat little system, but for that price I'll opt for the Retroid Pocket 2+.
Re: Video: What Was Your First Video Game Ever?
Somewhere between Mario All-Stars, Mario World, Kirby Superstar, and Donkey Kong Country. Just a baby with a SNES controller!
Re: Nintendo Reassures Fans "More" N64 Games Will Be Added To Switch Online
Come on, Smash 64...
