I'll never understand the weight people give Meta Critic numbers on their decisions, it just seems like a stressful and negative way to look at a medium. Nonetheless, I'm working through Prime 2 currently, looking forward to when I get to 4 (or 3 for that matter, dark aether is not my favorite place 😅)!

9/10 for me. I feel like there's just a few accessibility options missing (like binding spin to a button), and only being able to select music for City Trial instead of more modes and the menu. Other than that, it's been a blast and I'm still addicted! Just completed the Road Trip checklist, so now I'll focus on the other modes 😎

I would love having physical Air Riders on my shelf, but that price is way too steep for what is essentially Smash 4 functionality.

Limited inventory requires finesse. When done properly, it elevates the experience and the strategy involved in a survival horror (or hell, it can even be its own mini-game: RE4). When done poorly, it only frustrates. So it sounds like they made the right call there. Will keep an eye on this! Fixed cam/tank-controlled survival horrors are a gem.

What a surprise! I only (barely) remember the first game, because my friend at the time gave me the disc because he hated it 🤣 I honestly can't remember anything about it, other than it didn't click with me nearly as much as other fighters.

This is blurring the lines between the terms "remade" and "remastered" a bit, and to me doesn't read like a port isn't happening 🤔 Sure Prime 4 will definitely beat it to the shelves, but still seems like a stretch to say this means it isn't happening or planned...

Considering these trial games aren't even permanently added to your account (with an active sub) and the trial period is so short, it's odd they don't utilize this feature more to better advertise their library and NSO subs as a whole 🤔

It's still odd to me that the opposing trainers stand rooted the the ground as you and your Mon are running around during combat. Why not just control your current Mon directly at that point?

That box for IX alone goes hard, I'd be tempted to pick that up! As for the other, it's too bad Cloud has to share real estate with Squall...😉

I tried the first Layers of Fear on a sale last October, and aside from a few decent liminal moments, it was extremely boring and completely devoid of scares. Thanks to Silent Hill 2 I'm a Bloober fan now, but I don't see any reason to return to Layers unfortunately.

I've always wanted to play Mario & Wario since the bucket trophy in Smash Melee! So that'll be one curiosity satisfied 😁 And Fatal Fury is always good fun.

@Luigivaldo Unfortunately I likely started playing after those patches to the mechanics, because I waited for a sale after they axed the MTX from the game. Jokes aside, I do think it's a fun kart racer (I'm a sucker for anything with Cloud in it), and I still dip in here and there for a few rounds!

I love hall effect, that alone almost sold me. But the row of buttons on the bottom, no haptics, AND no console wake? Still a miss, guys...still planning for Pro 2 once my original Pro drifts beyond repair (so far, so good).

Third-person for me 😎 RE4 got me into the series as a whole, so I've been a fan of that gameplay/camera style ever since.

Imagine a scenario where you get a cartridge with the entire VB library and your choice of the hunk of plastic or hunk of cardboard for these prices. It would really be a novelty release, but the reality is you have to be an NSO sub to have the privilege to order one of these accessories and play these games with an active subscription. WILD.

@Gatorclops I removed my original comment at this point, too much doom and gloom. I just felt depressed after all of these prices went live. It's sad the industry is in this state, but it is what it is. Not to say there isn't something for everyone, it's just personally hard for me to get hyped for anything outside Kirby kinda (only because I really like the first Air Ride), but seeing them go the Starlink route with amiibo is concerning 🤣 But you make solid points, and for anyone who loved this Direct, I'm happy for them.

As much as I would like a December release date, all I need is a date. I still have to play the Prime trilogy + Hunters to prepare anyways, so a date will motivate the binge 😉

This is a part of why this game is more than what it seems at the surface! Glad to see a new player experience the story through to the end, and sadly this isn't the end of Jenny's woes. I highly recommend checking out the Japan-exclusive DS sequel with an excellent English fan translation patch: "Chibi-Robo Clean Sweep".

I didn't have that experience personally, and the Splatoon jump throw me off at first 😆 But everything about that game was an adjustment anyways (and got me to warm up to gyro on console). Top button jumps can be natural, but it's very situational for me. ICO and Shadow of the Colossus come to mind first...

Directionally, it does make a lot of sense. Didn't stop me from immediately swapping jump to B though, same with BotW/TotK.

And the gameplay still continues to be divisive, all of these years later 😆 To be expected. Personally I adore the OG, and this is doing everything I'd hoped it would. Well, as long as Top Ride isn't truly axed, and hopefully there's an option to mute the announcer...Can't wait! Day one for me 🩷⭐

Such an odd reveal. A free Steam game that is itself a sort of lesser Lethal Company, and it's not available on Sw2 until next year.

What an amazing start this was. Having a proper adult protagonist is a great choice, and so far there's no Navirou in sight? His presence in 2 made no sense (and had no significance), so I wouldn't be mad at this series ditching this mascot!

My memory has been submitted. It was a game that for years I wrote off as a fad that wouldn't appeal to me. After my friend nagged me enough, I got a digital Switch copy and within an hour, I got hooked. Now I own the physical soundtrack as well 😅

Among a few other things that felt off, the jumps are certainly a big one. They're still enjoyable games and perfectly playable and so on, but for those of us with muscle memory, it's definitely there. Good to hear an og dev agree.

I just hope Odd Rock is still a skin option for Pauline, I thought the game's concept was more appealing before child was involved (and seeing the little rock sing to DK just sounds all the more entertaining).

Like others said, Mickey looks off on NA. And Europe almost got my vote, but they just sloppily cropped the Japanese box art (notice the bird feet above Mickey). JP got my vote.

While I'm not overly fond of the robot's design, or the focus on platforming, there's no denying this is right up my alley! Also why does the game have you cleaning dirt? 🤣 Cleaning makes sense in an indoor-focused game like Chibi-Robo, not so much in an outdoor Pikmin-like map.

I need an option for "Not sure, still waiting for Switch 2 games to download" 😉

The actual game aesthetic looks good, but the main character to me looks very generic. It's also worth noting the game uses AI voice acting as well, which is unfortunate.

While I'd love Chibi-Robo to dominate this list (obviously), it's against some Gamecube absolute heavy hitters. The good news is, they're all great games worth your time.

Boo Cinema! Such a great design and the theming is top notch. I also love that the snacks you can pick up are popcorn and a soda.

This game seems to have weird input lag when playing docked (SoulCalibur 2 and F-Zero don't). Hopefully that gets patched soon.

Just Mario Kart World (Bundle) and BotW/Tears upgrades (family plan) for me right now. I'm too busy jumping between those, maybe I'll boot up Scarlet soon too. I'm happy to see so many more people getting to play Yakuza 0 though! You're seriously in for an incredible time.
