@Friendly I don't think Anti-Matter actually reads anything, he just sees that a game that isn't Yokai Watch or a game for children and whines about how 2D games are not worth his precious time.
Put the Pokemon Pinball games on Switch Online PLEASE!
I want to beat my records of 1.6 billion on blue and 1.1 billion on red. That Red PB took so much damn effort, I remember grinding attempts away as a kid and getting 900 million so many times.
17.0.0 and it's for a profanity list change? That's a 16.1.1 at best, what the heck? Here's the past several updates:
Ver. 16.1.0 (Released August 21, 2023) General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.
Ver. 16.0.3 (Released May 8, 2023) General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.
Ver. 16.0.2 (Released April 17, 2023) General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.
Ver. 16.0.1 (Released March 22, 2023) General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.
Ver. 16.0.0 (Released February 20, 2023) User nicknames that cannot be used will be replaced with “???” which can be updated from the profile settings. General system stability improvements to enhance the user's experience.
@Znake obligatory "this is an indie direct, obviously it wouldn't announce first party nintendo projects" comment aside... I wanna focus on "When I was a kid we had contra, then Ocarina, FFVII, God of War!!!! Some real fun games! If back then anyone announced a game where you groom animals, cook, or whatever thrash they allow these days, they would be buried alive and would never ever release another game."
You named games that came out in 1987, 1998, 1997, and 2005, for NES, N64, PS1, and PS2. That's a completely ridiculous comparison to make. You're looking at a presentation that focuses on indie games being released over the next few months for a single console and getting pissed that it isn't as good as a list of your favorite games from various consoles over a twenty year period. Get realistic.
And there WERE games where you groomed animals, cooked, etc. during these times. 100%. You just didn't know about them back then. The fact that more of what you call, uh, "thrash" is in your vision is just because it's easier to show it to you now than it was back in the day.
1. Touched: The best this game has ever felt. It's SO perfectly built for the DS. A lot of Warioware's best moments come from departing from button controls. 15/10.
2. Mega Party Game$: To me, Warioware is super fun, but where it truly thrives is in multiplayer. And the multiplayer has never been better than putting the original games into a competitive format. 15/10.
3. Smooth Moves: Held back only by finicky controls, the multiplayer in Smooth Moves is perfect. Throwing the wii remote across the room in that survival mode is just so stupid and perfect for the series. 14/10.
4. Move It: This is essentially a tie with Smooth Moves, but the multiplayer games that I've played haven't been as ridiculous, though I haven't convinced anyone to try that "for experts" mode yet. I'm assuming that's where the best competition lives. 14/10.
5. Get It Together: Multiplayer. This is the last of the games that really have it, and the competitive modes are great. Obscuring and messing with the screen as your opponents play is great, that was my favorite mode for sure. 12/10.
6. Twisted: There was no way this should have worked as well as it did. But somehow, rotating the system gave you way more versatility than you'd ever expect. Still, it really is just that one thing. 10/10.
7. Gold: I kind of bounced off this one, but it's really no fault of its own. The Rhythm Heaven treatment for Warioware made a lot of sense, but the Switch had been out for quite a while at this point. I had to search for my 3DS in a bunch of drawers just to play it. Good game, unfortunate environment for it. 10/10.
8. Original: A perfect debut, but it is truly bare bones. You can sit down with this game for a couple hours and experience everything it has to offer, and after that all you can do is beat your records. I will always love it for introducing me to my favorite game series, though. 10/10.
9. DIY: What does everyone see in this?! Someone please explain it to me. Everyone talks about it like it was so damn cool, but I never got it at all! Was the novelty of drawing stuff really such a huge sell for people? The games were so samey in my experience. Maybe I just didn't know where to find the good stuff, but this is the least fun I've had with Warioware, except... (oh, 8/10 btw)
10. Snapped: Glorified tech demo. 3/10. NEXT!
11. Game & Wario: This isn't even Warioware beyond the characters! No microgames, no deal. The frenetic pace is what I'm here for, and this game ain't got it. X/10, DISQUALIFIED!
Been playing this on PC, will definitely be doubling down for the Switch. I'm so happy this game has finally been modernized, it was hell to play multiplayer before. You had to go deep into computer settings and do stuff with ports and... blah, whatever, it's good now. And a ton of stuff added, including stuff that came from Risk of Rain 2! The sequel doesn't work too great on the Switch, you really need that keyboard and mouse input for most characters. But this? It'll be great. Can't wait to play it on the go.
@DennisReynolds The movie would be so beyond awkward if Link didn't talk at all. The games are already starting to feel that way with Zelda chatting away to a brick wall in the Switch games. Of course it wouldn't feel right for him to be a goofball Marvel superhero making quips and stuff, but I think he'll be fine as something more along the lines of a Tom Hardy in Mad Max, only talking when the situation calls for it.
@KeeperBvK Oh no!! 30 million people said yes and 20 million so far have said yes a second time, both by far the most this series has ever sold, but KeeperBvK said no?! Double back, now! Go back to the 2D overhead grid!!! Throw out all our advancements and evolutions! WE NEED KEEPERBVK!!!
Pretty underwhelming joycon/dock design. I would've liked the reverse colors on the joycon, and to just do nothing at all with the dock beyond turning it black is boring.
@Cia You must not have gotten very far in Celeste if you think... well, any of those things about it. Except overly frustrating, that's understandable.
I wish they'd have used the original font. Not the same size as the original, just shrunken down for modern displays. But if that's gonna be my only complaint, this'll be one of my favorite games of the year.
@TheImperfectInsider I mean the argument you're making that Game & Wario is a Warioware game. Just because one mode inside one of the games has Warioware elements, that now qualifies the other 95% of the game? Nah. Pokemon Emerald isn't a roguelike just because the Battle Pyramid in the Battle Frontier was there.
@TheImperfectInsider It's not really a WarioWare game because it doesn't have fast paced microgames, something every single game in the series has. It's a spinoff. It's like saying Pokemon Trozei is a Pokemon game. Like if I want to get a friend into the core Pokemon series, I'm not going to recommend Pokemon Conquest, no matter how much I love that game. It's not a good representation of the core series. Same applies for Game and Wario. You're not wrong, but you're not really right either.
My only complaint about them is that I wish they were on like a ten-second cooldown or something so you didn't have to hear the same line multiple times in rapid succession if you backtrack to grab a purple coin or something. Other than that, love these little friendly guys!
Just grabbed the game (along with Spidey 2) during my lunch break at work. Gonna be a fun weekend!!
...well, aside from dinner with my partner and her friends tonight. and helping move a new kitchen table and chairs tomorrow. and mahjong club on Sunday.
Get outta the way, life, I've got video games to play!!!

@Lizuka To be fair, it'd be strange to announce DLC for a console the base game isn't on.

This got an update and it wasn't to add Risk of Rain Returns? I've dumped a dozen hours into it already.

@link3710 See, that makes sense. So why isn't 17.0.0 listed on Nintendo's page system updates page?

I'm guessing they're not going to review Hogwarts Legacy because the comments would just get closed anyway.

Re: Talking Point: Which Zelda Game Should Be Adapted For The Movie?
I don't really want to see an existing game's story adapted. New idea would be cooler.

Eat it, part by part. Then it will be part of me forever, embedded in my organs.

@Sequel Oh, absolutely. I'm definitely guilty despite the callout.

Honestly though that's about the only Switch gimmick that really felt "gimmicky".

Slight edge to the US cover for me. Angry kirby is a point against, but at least the one front and center is also smiling.
Re: Wario's New Voice Actor Confirms Role On Social Media
@Vexx234 It's a reference to when Wario took over the Nintendo twitter. That was the last thing he said before he gave control back to Nintendo.
Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Super Mario RPG (Switch)
@JohnnyMind What?! I thought they just pressed the "remake" button on a big machine and a fully completed, packaged, and ready to ship game came out!
Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For Super Mario RPG (Switch)
@Zeroo A remake is not "basically a remaster".

Not sure why Nintendo feels the same dude has to voice all four of 'em just because Martinet did. I'll do Wario and Waluigi for them.

Weirdly limited app anyway. I was always wondering when it would get an update, and it just never did. Hope it's better on Switch 2.

IT'S WARIOWARE. Automatic 12/10 for me. Cannot wait to play this with a big group of idiots all throwing joycons at each other.

Absolutely prefer this more confident facial expression. Not even close.

Re: Round Up: The Previews Are In For WarioWare: Move It!
@VoidofLight Wild, the reason I'm so excitedly looking forward to this one and why I loved Smooth Moves so much is for their multiplayer potential.
