Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom

Bret

@Rambler I gotta get me a job at DF then, if they can afford luxuries like that!

I don't know what you think you're saying here, but you're onto nothing. This is what DF does. They're not setting out to do a full video game review, their aim is exactly what they reported - the technical side. From their website:

What is Digital Foundry?
Founded in 2004, Digital Foundry specialises in covering the technology behind games – from console platforms to PC and beyond. Through video analysis and in-depth articles, we touch on everything from graphics comparisons, hardware reviews, PC benchmarking, plus interviews with the developers behind the games themselves.

Re: Random: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Tops GQ's 100 Greatest Games Of All Time

This is apparently a hot take after reading these comments, but... A game being influential doesn't make it good. Just because a game changed the course of gaming history doesn't mean it's still as good in retrospect. Like, half the music I listen to allegedly wouldn't exist without The Ramones, but that doesn't make me like The Ramones.

Re: Random: Chris Pratt's Mario Movie Voice Was Initially Deemed Too "Tony Soprano"

Bret

@TheNumbr24 I know what you said. You're still off. Pratt's big breakout role was Andy Dwyer in Parks and Rec, and he started showing up everywhere after that show got popular. Yes, he was good in the Lego Movie, but that is not what he's getting his major roles for. It's why he got the Mario movie, probably, but I promise you they didn't cast Pratt in Jurassic World because he sang Everything is Awesome. He even showed up as Andy Dwyer to play it on a BBC interview. https://www.billboard.com/culture/tv-film/chris-pratt-covers-everything-is-awesome-lego-movie-watch-8497107/

@Cashews I don't follow TMNT either, but Seth Rogen isn't the point. TMNT cast a bunch of unknowns as their lead roles. All four of the turtles are played by relative unknowns, and the rest of the movie has stars cast. They know TMNT is a big enough name that they didn't have to cast stars in the lead role. Mario is a WAY bigger name, and could've done the same.

Re: Nintendo Live 2023: Dates, Everything You Need To Know

Bret

@Bolt_Strike Marketing? Not sure what the confusion is. There doesn't have to be a big reveal. There was a Nintendo booth at a music festival I went to in 2019. You could walk in and play Mario Kart 8 with people. They do this kind of thing all the time.

Re: Nintendo Live 2023: Dates, Everything You Need To Know

@rjejr This is a funny article.

What's happening at Nintendo Live 2023?
There aren't many precise details to go off at the moment
Which games will be there?
We're not too sure exactly
Will I have to pay to attend Nintendo Live 2022?
Probably, yes, though we don't have any information
Will any of the events be streamed online?
Possibly!
Can we expect a Nintendo Direct at the same time?
Who knows!
Will there be new games announced at Nintendo Live 2023?
It's impossible to say

I'm sure these are going to be updated as information is revealed, but right now it's pretty silly looking.
