@johnvboy When it was released, the entire list of retail Switch games was 1-2-Switch, Breath of the Wild, Skylanders Imaginators, Just Dance 2017, Super Bomberman R, I Am Setsuna, and Snipperclips.

It sold because it was a game for the Switch. This time the console has been out for six years. I will be shocked if it shows up on our weekly chart posts.

LMAO that's not even close to true. This suggests you haven't even played most of the recent 2D Marios. Hidden paths? Rotating platforms? Any sort of single-stage gimmick? All impossible in Mario Maker.

@Clammy When the hell did I say that it's got the same size dev team as anything? All I said was it's not filler, and that if it was they would've just made another game in the NSMB series.

@RetroGames You're the second person I've seen say this looks like a fan game and that seriously just baffles me. I just can't fathom looking at these charming animations and character designs and backgrounds and thinking "who made this, Luigi_Luvr2002?".

@Clammy If it was actually filler, they wouldn't have bothered updating the visuals. It'd just be NSMB Switch.

@Clammy Whatever, the renders are based on the models. The point stands that they aren't using those ancient things. Modeling tech has, believe it or not, advanced in the past 27 years. And a SNES cart holds 8 MB. Whatever models they made were posed and had those poses compressed into sprites, and that's what's in the game, not 3D models. If they have the old rigs then MAYBE it saves that one step, but there's no knowing if the old models still exist, if they are compatible with how Nintendo makes games now, etc.

@Regulus6891 Nintendo would actually have to have decent servers before that could work for a tight platformer. Mario Maker 2 can get really rough.

I'm so pumped for the couch co-op for this! I'm curious about the treasure chests, or really about how items will work in general. Will everyone just share the same pool of items? Will four chests spawn? Will only one character get an item/chest per level/boss?

Every iteration of RCT since 2 has disappointed me more and more, and I don't see how this one would be different.

@sleepinglion Look closer. The visual style of Mario Wonder is a complete overhaul. You can't look at those character models and those animations and say it's copy-pasted from NSMB, it just doesn't make sense

I'd vote for mint chip but the vanilla ink color is way funnier.

Smooth Moves has been the life blood of many parties in the past. I am really looking forward to hosting more for this one!

I never beat the original! I left off somewhere in Smithy's castle. Safe to say I'll finally be beating this game.

@ottoecamn We talked about this a couple weeks ago on the Pikmin 4 trailer article, but... There you go, Pikmin 4 is being shown front and center in the tweet. The direct is not taking attention away from it! Completely the opposite, focusing attention on it.

Nice to see that there's more queer options. You can marry whoever you darn well please and dress in any clothes you please regardless of gender, both of which are moves I appreciate.

@Bret Elden Ring is hard.

I just completed the final main quests last night and I gotta say, that was one of the most satisfying final boss battles I've ever experienced. Such a great game. I marked "still playing" in the poll, but I think I'll finally start playing Elden Ring soon.

Absolutely not the news I was expecting when Motion Twin teased this yesterday, but I will certainly take it! Super excited for this!

@GrailUK They had my click at Burnout, but that game has a VERY specific feel that nobody has been able to replicate. I'll keep watching this game, but I'm reserved in my hype.

@thesilverbrick When the Splatoon 2 joycon came out, some regions had pink/green and others had green/pink. I imported one and my friend bought the other, and we swapped so I had two pink and he had two green. I was hoping the same would happen this time so I could get two pastel pink, but nope

Just ordered pink/yellow! I'm happy that after six years they finally decided to release good colors.

@Rykdrew Well... Vampire Survivors also costs $3 and Among Us costs $5. They're not exactly equivalent.
