This seems like a smart move, honestly. With game sales slipping, they need something to recoup their losses, and this is something they've had experience with in in the past; Wii Fit U only failed because the Wii U itself was failing when it was released.
@RupeeClock: So you're really him, huh. Funny running into you here! I was Doore1337 on that site, I think we've talked a few times- I was embarrassingly young at the time, but still, I can't help but wonder if you remember seeing me around at all. We should find a place to catch up.
Oh, Nintendo... You don't know how tempted I am to use this. There is no reason not to hurry up and release as many games as possible if it's truly that easy. Especially games that have been out in other regions for months, like... I don't know... Game & Watch Gallery 3? I won't do it, but damn is it tempting.
If they put SSBB up, I really hope they keep it identical to disk and don't do something to block Hackless Project M from working. I may prefer Smash 4 competitively, but PM's still decent.
Ninja Pig, the art style was not changed as you explicitly claimed it was. We can see that clear as day, in the comparisons between the two. While it's true that a palette swap was applied, that's not sufficient to claim something as your own. Unless, of course, all those Sonic the Hedgehog recolors floating around out there actually DO belong to their "owners"?
First, a once-free flash game with a price tag. Then, a game made ENTIRELY out of things ripped from the internet. Why are we only NOW getting on him about his plagiarism?
Oh well, at least the case is airtight. We'll never have to see that quote unquote "developer" embarrass the eShop ever again.
Okay, first, mangling the Virtual Console, then everything related to Super Smash Bros.'s peripherals, now this... Three strikes, you're out. It's time to step down, Reggie.
@NintyMan: Exactly what I'm worried about, since I like the Game & Watch series. I thought Wii Fit Trainer (who's also from a less-popular series that I like) would be a cinch to get at first, but... -_-
I'm gonna have to agree with the experts on this one. One attack not have both that level of reliability and all-purposeness. It's too safe to use, to the point where people can get away with using it as a crutch.
For those curious, remember that there is one way the game is available to the general public right now.
A remake was included as a full minigame in WarioWare: Inc., Mega Microgame$, unlockable by scoring 25 points on the next-to-last stage. It has Wario's nose on the sheriff himself and he's able to walk faster than in the original, but otherwise, it's a faithful recreation from what I can tell - the L/R buttons even simulate that knob.
Yeah, the game's so much more fun when you turn the reticle off. Leaving it on just feels like using a mouse.
If you've bought a Wii Zapper just for this game, remember to use it on other ganes to get the most out of it, such as the Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime games (reversing the controls on the latter). This game IS fun with the Zapper, but not enough to buy a peripheral ONLY for.
I milked that promotion for all it was worth. It's a good thing I prefer retail games as digital copies above discs. And I'm a Virtual Console collector. I probably got, like, $50 for free so far.
No appeal needed? I'd say it has plenty of appeal. ba-dum-tssh
Seriously, though, I'm happy about this one. I rented the first in the trilogy years ago and never had a chance to finish it before I had to return it. Now I can find out what happens the way I'm supposed to.
No mention of the fact that not a single graphic is actually owned by Ninja Pig? Plagiarism is what I've come to expect from this quote unquote "developer".
Even without counting Bayonetta/2 and X/Y as separates, that's still 17, over twice what's on the competition. So it didn't really matter that they dual - counted .
Meme Run should never have been given the opportunity to get published, because by definition, everything on it is stolen. Just like everything Ninja Pig does is big, fat plagiarism. Remember IQ Quiz, which is The Impossible Quiz except you have to pay for it? The developer should be blacklisted.
Mario's less the Mickey Mouse who ushers in each new step of development than he is the Donald Duck who thinks he's still a major star but was left behind the race ages ago. New hardware is all well and good, but they should stop pretending that they're ahead of their competitors.
Free tries are available to win for free? That makes it worthwhile. Not locking a feature behind a paywall entirely, just allowing easier access to it for those who pay.
As excited as I am for the game itself, the best part is that this opens the door to more experiments with the VC. Mario Paint with the gamepad acting as the mouse? GBA games with Amiibo in the place of the E-Reader? GAME BOY MULTIPLAYER?

Re: Nintendo Download: 5th February (North America)
FINALLY, they decide to throw us Game & Watch fans a bone. How long has Europe had it?
Re: Rumour: Nintendo Plotting amiibo Super Mario Collection Meltdown With Gold and Silver Editions
Unless it allows me to have a permanently Metal Mario opponent like in 64, I'm not interested.
Re: Flipnote Studio 3D Arrives in North America This Week
I'll be using it. Even if it's offline, because of course it would still have SD-exporting features.
Re: Cult PlayStation 2 Title Legend Of Kay Is Getting Remastered On Wii U
A PS2 game getting remade on Wii U and NOT PS4? This IS a pleasant surprise.
Re: Video: Nintendo Opts For Creepy and Mysterious Commercials to Promote The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D
@bro2dragons: I know, I played it myself. It's just been wrung out and scraped so many times that it's nowhere near creepy anymore, just annoying.
Re: Video: Nintendo Opts For Creepy and Mysterious Commercials to Promote The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D
sigh Ben Drowned is an even deader, more boring meme than the CD-i games. You're better than this, Nintendo...
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X is so Sizeable That It Almost Needed More Than One Disc
A multidisc game, eh? I haven't heard of that since the PlayStation 1... Just how big did they make it?!

Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd January (North America)
I rented Punch-Out once and I regretted not buying it. So I'm snapping it up while it's cheap.

Re: Club Nintendo to Close, With Replacement Loyalty Programme Coming Later in the Year
@StephenYap3: The site isn't closing until July. Mewtwo's window of release has been confirmed to be in Spring; late March to early June.
Also, we knew for a while that the last date to register for the DLC/soundtrack promotion was January 17th.
Re: Club Nintendo to Close, With Replacement Loyalty Programme Coming Later in the Year
I guess Mewtwo is their way of saying goodbye.
Shame about the service. I got a lot of free games from it.
Re: Nintendo of America Issues Non-Statement on the Region Skipping the Smaller New Nintendo 3DS

?!?!?!

Re: Wii Disc Software Heading to the Wii U eShop
-Wait, what about online multiplayer? Will that be reinstated?
Re: Wii Disc Software Heading to the Wii U eShop
Yes, Punch-Out '09. I regretted not buying that after renting it.
(On the other hand, I just bought my brother the disc versions of MPT and Pandora's Tower for Christmas... whoops.)
Re: Nintendo Steps Away From Brazilian Market
Ugh... I have close Smash friends in Brazil, so this is a bad thing...

I expected as much. It's why I'm glad I was able to get a Wired Fight Pad.
Re: Review: Mario Party Advance (Wii U eShop / Game Boy Advance)
Games like this are why Nintendo needs to get GB VC multiplayer figured out, like, yesterday.
Re: Review: Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World (Wii U eShop / Game Boy Advance)
I always preferred this version. Luigi > Mario.
Re: Smash Bros. 2v2 For Glory Exploit Makes Pac-Man Duo Unbeatable

A-a-a-a Game & Watch theme?! I really hope that one comes to the US. Along with Gallery 3.

Re: Video: Hacker Demonstrates Fully Functional Game & Watch amiibo in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
@Sakura: Sakurai did say an amiibo of his own mii already exists. They are CONSIDERING some kind of custom-order thing.
Re: Review: Kuru Kuru Kururin (Wii U eShop / Game Boy Advance)
Hopefully it'll come to North America. The more once-export-only titles make their grand debut on the eShop, the better.

It's a good thing I already owned both for a few years now.

Hopefully this means he'll be able to keep Smash 5 on the right track at the supervising level with Sakurai retiring and all.
Re: Poll: Which is the Best Pokémon Game?
I don't know why, but I just have the fondest memories of Diamond / Pearl.
The Pokétch being something that really should return is only a small part of the reason.

AW YISS.
I think this is the first week I've ever picked up ALL of the current VC releases.

And still no Ultra SFIV patch. For shame.
Re: Poll: Fake Wave 4 amiibo Images Make Us Dream of More Figures
We know all those are coming anyway.
My guess is that Pac-Man and Greninja will be the ones we see earliest out of those, because they're starter characters.
Then will come Ness, who's a starter in Smash U but unlockable in Smash 3D.
That's when G-Dubs, Pittoo, and Lucina, the characters that are always unlockable, will start showing up.
Re: Nintendo Download: 25th December (Europe)
I just realized.
Nintendo's giving us a puppy for Christmas.
