Hey, NL staff! Why are you just sweeping the fact that Nintendo just took down over 500 fan projects under the rug? These atrocities can't go unaddressed!

Club Nintendo was probably the biggest reason why I've made over $2000 worth of eShop purchases since I got my Wii U and 3DS.

Nowadays I hardly ever even spend a dime.

"Traditional lessons"... They wouldn't know traditional if it bit them in the gold pants. We just want to sit down with a controller. Is that really so hard to understand?

I get that this guy means well, but I can't possibly side with Nintendo about this with a clear conscience.

The first thing that came to mind when I read that was Oblina from "Aaahh! Real Monsters".

The more launch titles, the better. It definitely needs more than The Legend of Zelder Scrolls V: Skyloft to get me anywhere near excited.

I walked to get the plush on day one. I walked eight miles. They only had one in stock for some reason and I got it.

60 can only be used on one game (not counting Mario Maker, Pokken, or Hyrule Warriors/Legends, where all amiibo content can be unlocked without amiibo)
27 can't have data saved to them at all

You can't ruin a company that's already done a very thorough job of ruining itself. There's nowhere to go but up for Ubisoft with this purchase.

Huh. I thought Greninja became the single most pointless fighter in the Smash series the moment Sun/Moon was announced, but I guess he still has a place.

...well, that actually makes it worse. That means there's a double-standard at play here.

This is just plain getting ridiculous. Nintendo needs to realize that it's not the games' faults. What if they found an exploit in, say, Super Smash Bros., just like with the Wii? Would they take THAT down, too?

Legacy Collection for me. Six games for the price of two is something I don't plan to pass up.

Ha. I hated this project from the start. Good to see that it's finally getting exactly what it deserves.

The NX is going to save hardware sales just like I'm going to be the Queen of England.

As much as I hate them, I gave it a watch anyway, and it's probably the only video by them I've ever been legitimately interested in.
Mostly because I had that same questions myself. TEST is one of my favorite stages in the series, and while I already knew about the OpenGL exercise thing, I didn't know anything more specific than that.

Amiibo isn't in danger, but it's approaching danger. Like very slowly driving towards a cliff with still plenty enough time and space to turn around. But slow as it may be, it's still ultimately headed for a cliff if it doesn't turn around.

Phantom Hourglass is tempting, but my budget's tight and I'm going to buy the Hyrule Warriors DLC next week.

Normally I'm a VOCAL supporter of the Homebrew scene, but it being part of the Humble Bundle is a really bad, potentially dangerous coincidence. Nintendo doesn't need ANOTHER reason to get draconian with anything that's not themselves.

I'm getting bored of Smash, and Mario Party/Tennis is just NO. Nintendo needs to release something else that involves the data-saving functions.

@DWWM Yeah. A video game magazine advertising it way back in the day included that info as a positive ("You can play until 2030! That's a long time!" or something like that), and not too long ago, I tested it to be sure.

I set the clock to 12/31/2030 at 11:50 PM and waited.
When Midnight struck, it looped back to 1/1/2030.

I'm guessing it's an artifact from the N64 version since that console didn't HAVE its own system clock.

Remember that the original only has 15 years LEFT.
It stops working after 2030. And that includes the GameCube version.

Thankfully, though, the later games don't have this issue.

Mario & Sonic is Nintendo/Sega's answer to the yearly EA sports games by this point.

Super Street Fighter II Turbo: Akuma is banned, Old Sagat is "soft-banned"

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Shuma-Gorath and Jill Valentine are banned due to no longer being available, making new players unable to train against them

And I know there's others. There's definitely precedent.

As for the debate, I think we should wait it out a little. (Also, ZeRo trying to HELP the community instead of jumping on the chance to stagnate it? Never thought I'd see the day.)

G&W Gallery 4 for me. I may own the cartridge, but restore points will make getting the rarer games a lot more painless, especially since the free stars from the multiplayer games are no longer available.

@CB85 They're on Miiverse. Post-millennials hate anything that we millennials enjoyed.

One post I saw after Color Splash was announced went something like this:
"Blue is for the tears of TTYD fans. Red is for the blood of their crushed dreams. Yellow is for their wetting themselves like the big babies they are."

It's only one country doing this, and Spain hardly has the most major competitive Smash scene in the world.

Here in America, everyone just follows what ZeRo says, and as ZeRo supports her, she's safe.

I just know Sticker Star fans are going to look at this, point and laugh, and say "See? We TOLD you your precious game is terrible!"

That's ten times as much as the friend list maximum on Wii U and 3DS, so I'm not complaining.

This is bad. If the Wii Shop Channel gets similarly affected, then A LOT of titles will be lost.

Other M may be a terrible game, but at least a digital version won't shred the console from the inside like the disk version does. So I'm glad they're including that option for people who just have to try it for the schadenfreude.

I'll add Yoshi's Story and HW Legends to my wishlist. I'm not spending a cent until they confirm a Western release for My Nintendo.

Yeah, yeah, that's great and all, but until they confirm whether or not there's ACTUALLY going to be a western release, I really don't care.
