I think Mewtwo will get his own. This is probably an error trap in case someone hacks the game to play as Sandbag, Ridley, etc. to prevent the game from freezing if someone tries a guidance against them.
@Storytime7: No, I really think Project M's got it beat now. It also has balance going for it, unlike Melee where only a tiny fraction of the roster was actually functional. Combine that with the sheer PRICE of Melee now...
I'm the second type of Melee player; the one who gave it a chance and liked it.
I thought Brawl was horrible. This one fixes its mistakes. And, yes, it does have some edge over Melee/P:M; there are some really glaring imbalances in the earlier titles, and I know I'm in the minority when I say that removing L-cancelling took away nothing from the strategic depth.
I'll still continue to play P:M as a FORK. A side series, like SF Alpha was to SFII. SSBU is currently the definitive version of the MAIN series. One thing's for sure – With both of those titles having it outmatched in all areas, Melee doesn't have much going for it right now.
If only there was some sort of "shortcut" feature on tbe Wii U menu. Then it wouldn't feel as necessary for convenience's sakes. Same for the missing Virtual Console titles, etc.
I'm remaining open-minded but cautious. The Sony/Microsoft and Nintendo/Microsoft relationships are a lot more hostile than Sony/Nintendo, so I'm not worried about that. I just don't want it to be an obvious low-budget cash-grab.
@Drawdler: Gonna have to agree with you on Cryogonal. Even when I regularly see it in Smash Bros. 3DS, I forget which series it's from.
I did like a lot of G5 'mons, though. I adore my Hydreigon, Samurott, and Meinshao. So I'm not jumping on that bandwagon. (I personally thought G3 was much worse in that department.)
@Platypus101: It was a non-sustainable, short-term victory, with the nasty side effect of slaughtering their public relations and credibility among gamers. Most of the reasons the Wii U is failing involve residual damage from the Wii – once the casuals they were targeting moved onto smartphones, they had neither the goldmine they targeted with the Wii nor the fans they alienated with the Wii left.
As much as I liked Super Smash Bros and Paper Mario and F-Zero X and Gauntlet Legends and the like, the N64 was when Nintendo's "Lateral Thinking with Withered Technology" policy started to actively choke them, and they should have noticed instead of making the same mistakes all over again with the GameCube, Wii, and Wii U. So it's kind of hard to sympathize with late nineties Nintendo.
Well, he IS getting old. Poor guy can hardly even play the games he makes anymore. No matter your opinion of Smash 4, it's time for him to step down, for his own sake.
Downloading Pokémon TCG immediately. I've been asking for months for them to bring over the European VC games, and they're finally doing it. Slowly, but surely.
I think ones like Smash!Mario and Smash!Yoshi will be limited-edition, too, since those characters will be reissued in different forms with subsequent games. It was confirmed early on that things like Mario Party 10!Mario will be backwards compatible with Smash.
Sheesh, someone give this guy a pillow. And an all expenses paid plane ticket to somewhere. I'm fine with Mewtwo being the only DLC for a while, he's really outdoing himself.
I plan to buy Nightmare in Dream Land immediately. I hope to send a message that I appreciate the fact that they're finally bringing over some of the Europe-only VC games, and I will let them know that on Club Nintendo, too.
Great, that means I can't use them. All controllers with Turbo Buttons have been universally banned in real matches since 64, and in all other fighting games even before that.
And Reggie thinks letting more of these through has more potential than the Virtual Console. He needs to either get some sense with quality control or step down.
sigh YET ANOTHER completely empty week. I've complained about the awful state of the VC on every single VC game Club Nintendo survey I fill out. Just goes to show you that Reggie doesn't actually care about what's in demand.
@rjejr that analogy doesn't work here. Because it wasn't the tires or engine that were taken; it was a bumper sticker that the previous owner accidentally left attached.
Miiverse was not required, optimal, or even decent for comic sharing. Now get over yourself, use your SD card, and stop acting so entitled.
No.No no no no no. I am NOT buying characters that'll take up space on my shelves and my wallet.
Skylanders and Infinity are the two most hated games of this generation. Who the flying love would follow their example?! Please watch the profanity — TBD
I... actually think putting on the Updated Rerelease of Yoshi's Island was a good choice. This one was meant to be played on a home console and not a portable, after all, and it provides a bit of fresh air instead of just rereleasing the SNES one... again.
@Nintenjoe64: ...wait, WHAT?! Ugh... UGH. No doubt it's due to some anti-piracy DRM nonsense that's not going to stop them anyway. Bloating the game to over 20 times its size is a little excessive, EVEN FOR NINTENDO...
Mmhhh, I think I'll pass. WarioWare was good, but not Non-Portable good.
(And why is everyone still pretending to be excited about SMB3? Even people who hate Mario have memorized every brick in fifty different ways by now...)
I can't pretend to be excited about the releases this week. I already own the GBA games, and Rusty's Ripoff Shop just plain pisses me off by being there. A bunch of little minigames that probably exist thousands of ways in Adobe Flash for more than the cost of DSiWare each... who would buy those?! That said, I'll probably download it anyway for the one free game and the fact that I have a massive SD card...
As much as I disagree with the decision, I at least see where they're coming from with it. That said, I won't be buying any of them because I own the original cartridges already.
3DS GBA VC will come eventually. But hey, Wii U owners like me need SOMETHING besides Super Mario Bros.: Slightly Different Brick Positions Ultra Turbo Edition #78 to tide us over until Super Smash Bros. comes out. I basically have a $300 brick right now.

Re: 3DS System Update 9.4.0-21 Brings a Whole New Level of Stability
I bet the people who spent $500 on Cubic Ninja (which is a TERRIBLE game) are feeling pretty silly right now.

I don't think it's true. I mean, it hasn't even been a full month in the US.

Re: Nintendo Download: 4th December (North America)
My promise to buy every long-awaited European VC game continues. Fire Emblem 7, here I come.
(Now if only they'd release 1-6, too...)
Re: Sakurai Explains Why Ridley Is Not A Playable Fighter In Super Smash Bros.
While I don't agree with the decision, I understand it. Shame, though.
This is coming from someone who doesn't even LIKE Ridley, Metroid, or its fan base; I did feel that he deserved a spot.
Re: Masahiro Sakurai Explains Why Mewtwo Isn't Paid DLC in Smash Bros.
How fitting that MEWTWO was constructed as an EXPERIMENT. Sakurai confirmed to be Giovanni.

Re: Two Pokémon Game Boy Color Titles Dated For North American 3DS eShop
Aww yissss, they're finally bringing the European games to the US. Now I can finally stop complaining on Club Nintendo.
Now, just to wait for Game & Watch Gallery 3...
Re: These GameCube-style Mario Bros. Controllers Offer an Edge in Super Smash Bros.
Great, that means I can't use them. All controllers with Turbo Buttons have been universally banned in real matches since 64, and in all other fighting games even before that.
Re: Nintendo Download: 16th October (North America)
@ghasfarost Only if you like Castlevania. I always found the series very generic and boring, personally, so this is going to be a LONG wait for me.
In the meantime, I'm still waiting for Fire Emblem and Game & Watch Gallery 3, which are already out in Europe...

Re: Nintendo Celebrates Super Smash Bros. and Wii U Success in NPD Results
So SSB3D sold 300,000 less units here than it did in Japan in the same time period? That's actually pretty bad.

8/10, eh? Too bad it will never, ever be released in the North American service.

Re: Nintendo Download: 25th September (North America)
No Game & Watch Gallery 3?... Drat... stupid Europe getting all the good VC games exclusively...
Re: Nintendo Download: 25th September (Europe)
I hope GW Gallery 3 makes its way to the U.S. on Thursday. I've been waiting for it to get released for a while now.
...though, admittedly, with SSB4 about to be released, this does seem like the perfect time to put the spotlight on Mr. Game & Watch.

Re: Screenshots Disabled in Comic Workshop Miiverse Community
@rjejr It was never advertised and you're making an assumption. Read my previous post.
Re: Screenshots Disabled in Comic Workshop Miiverse Community
I'd like to point out that MIIVERSE SHARING WAS NEVER INTENDED IN THE FIRST PLACE.
That FAQ even said that on release day, when screenshots were still allowed. It was a glitch or oversight that it was enabled at first.
