I'm not even talking about the price. This just looks like the most boring Mario game possible.
Just to top it all off, they can't even give it the dignity of its own visual style. They're just recycling the same NSMB assets we've been seeing since 2006.
Why is there even enough demand for this to happen again? This is one of the most redundant and unnecessary products Nintendo's ever released. Just get a Wii U, people.
@Sinton Might as well. Cheaper to get the Wii version first if you change your mind than it is the other way around, with the discount for already-owned games and all.
Also: boffin: 1. a person engaged in scientific or technical research; i.e. "a computer boffin". 2. a person with knowledge or a skill considered to be complex, arcane, and difficult. Source: Google. You're welcome.
Unusually good week. Twisted Fusion looks promising, and DK Jungle Beat along with MH3-on-3 are something I've been curious about. Combined with the AC:NL:Wa update, I'm going to be kept pretty busy this time.
@River3636 Funny you should mention the Dreamcast, since its ability to play burned CDs is one of the most major reasons it continues to have a devoted following at all! Especially since quite a few of the original GD-ROMs are literally starting to rot. (Look for pinhole-like marks under high light.)
To anyone who says that killed the DC in the first place, the combined failure of the Sega CD/32X/Saturn giving it an unrealistic amount of debt to cover along with the gargantuan threat of the PS2 striking at the worst possible moment played a far, far bigger hand in its demise. It was doomed from the start.
@MyLegGuy Right. I played the Mother 1 ROM ages ago, for example, and then jumped to purchase EarthBound Beginnings the moment I heard it was available. I don't COMPLETELY lack a moral compass when it comes to this stuff. =p
@jimi Riddle me this. What's the ethical difference between buying a used copy of the original cartridge and downloading it? None of the cash you spend on a used copy goes to the people who made it.
I'm not talking about games that are still being sold in some form, like on the VC. Most NES games are not, and are functionally Lost Forever.
And I'm not even talking about the law. The law is notoriously outdated when it comes to this stuff, and it's never enforced in part because the people who enforce it know this.
I'm just talking about ethics. And my conscience is clear.
Like how using >32 on the 3DS isn't OFFICIALLY supported but TECHNOLOGICALLY supported, it likely will support bigger ones. It's probably just that ones higher than 128 are not GUARANTEED (though are still likely, mind you; I'm talking maybe a drop from 99.99% to 99.90% chance, maybe; not a significant drop, but still a drop nonetheless and thus warrants warning about) to be stable.
This could mean the decline of microtransactions if they become regulated enough to no longer be that profitable.
That could be a very, very good thing.
I say let it stay. If it's bad, it'll sink into the abyss with the millions of other forgotten apps. If it's decent, then that deserves leniency and recognition.
The fact that it costs money should really be raising some alarm bells... I'm normally a vocal supporter of fan games and emulation, but this guy's just plain an idiot.
Downloaded because why the (honk) not. It'll be good for a laugh for a few minutes. And it'll give me the ability to make scathing, sarcastic posts on the Miiverse community.
I got confused seeing Aenigma OS, thinking it said "Amiga OS". All I could think was, "Why the heck would I wanna turn my Wii U into an ancient computer?"
Hear that, Baby Boomers? We're all going back to our stationary, sitting-and-staring-at-a-PC-screen-forever lives now. You can stop complaining about us getting exercise.
Once again, Skunk Software insults the name of my favorite animal by putting out something that wouldn't even fly for a free phone app at a price comparable to a retail release.
And somehow, this isn't even their worst offender released that WEEK! I dread when "The First Skunk Bundle" gets touched on...

Re: SnowCastle Games Wants To Bring Earthlock: Festival Of Magic To Nintendo Switch
Watch them eventually say "Sorry, not enough power" and chicken out, just like everyone trying to bring stuff to Nintendo consoles.
Re: The Race is on to Catch 100 Million Pokémon in Sun and Moon
I'm currently catching every pokémon I see. Every single random spawn. I'm so glad Gift Snorlax has Hold Back.
Re: The Race is on to Catch 100 Million Pokémon in Sun and Moon
I was planning on boosting my catching volume, anyway. I got nothing to Wonder Trade =p
Re: Rumour: New Version of Pokémon Sun And Moon, Pokémon Stars, Is Coming to the Nintendo Switch
Wow. How gullible can people get? Fake pokémon games have been rumored since day one. It's gettin' old.
Re: Here's a Breakdown of All That Swapdoodle DLC
Yeesh... You could get a retail 3DS game for all that, it looks like.
Re: Rejoice! Link's New Hairdo Arrives as Miitomo Award on My Nintendo
Whoo.
Re: Review: Futuridium EP Deluxe (New 3DS)
Gotta say the review tagline was misleading. Thought this was gonna be a negative review.
Re: Super Mario Run Jumps Onto iOS on 15th December, Priced $9.99 for Full Unlock
...That... doesn't even look remotely fun.

Re: New North American My Nintendo Rewards Carry A Major Metroid Theme
@Buster13 Amazing. They only do one worthless thing, and they can't even do THAT right.
Re: Feature: The Most Intriguing Features in Pokémon Sun and Moon
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Too bad we'll all be too busy running for our lives to enjoy them.
Re: Soapbox: Captain Falcon, We Have A Problem With F-Zero X on Wii U
@Sinton Might as well. Cheaper to get the Wii version first if you change your mind than it is the other way around, with the discount for already-owned games and all.
Re: Soapbox: Captain Falcon, We Have A Problem With F-Zero X on Wii U
@Sinton Works fine enough for me. That said, I never played the original cartridge in this case, so I may not notice the difference.
Re: Isabelle Animal Crossing 3DS HOME Theme Added to My Nintendo in North America
Why not? I GOT NOTHIN' ELSE TO SPEND MY POINTS ON, AFTER ALL!
Re: Soapbox: Captain Falcon, We Have A Problem With F-Zero X on Wii U
Get the Raphnet N64-to-Classic Controller adapter. There. Problem solved.
Re: Huge Miitomo Update Promises Direct Messages, Room Customisation And Sidekick Miis
And the announcement was met to the sound of crickets.
Re: Talking Point: Ports vs. Sequels On The Nintendo Switch
Porting over a significant portion of a failed system's library in hopes of reaching a wider audience isn't unprecedented.

Re: Nintendo Switch Will Be a Single-Screen Experience
It's not worth it. DS Virtual Console is no longer possible, which doesn't look good for the Virtual Console as a whole.
Re: Analysts Weigh In On The Nintendo Switch Debate
My opinion on the mobile market?
Scuh-rew those guys. They're traitors and we don't want them.
Re: Nintendo Confirms Switch Isn't Physically Backwards Compatible With 3DS And Wii U Software
Oh, find me in the alps... I knew it wasn't likely, but I still had a small sliver of hope.

Konami?
Pachinko Collection confirmed.

That could be a very, very good thing.
Re: Butterfly: Inchworm Animation II Aims to Bring the 3DS eShop to Life Soon
It's like they're slapping Nintendo in the face for botching Flipnote 3D like they did. I might pick it up when I have the cash.

Re: The Wii Is Getting A New Retail Game This November
Wow, that's... actually a really smart move, deliberately exploiting the Wii U's backwards compatibility like that. I gotta give them credit.
Re: SM64: Last Impact is a Hugely Ambitious Super Mario 64 Fan Mod
Also, it might not work in Project 64 without a few settings first. There's a video explaining it linked to in the file, but here's the quick version.
1. Options -> Show Advanced Settings.
2. Set Memory to 8MB.
3. Set Counter Factor to 1.
4. Configure -> Audio Plugin -> Sync Game to Audio
After that, though, it'll work just swimmingly.
Re: SM64: Last Impact is a Hugely Ambitious Super Mario 64 Fan Mod
@Mega_Yarn_Poochy Project M.

Re: Rumour: NX Entering Trial Production At Foxconn, Annual Output Pegged At 10 Million
Excuse me? ANNUAL output?
10 million is just slightly less than the Wii U's lifetime sales. Making that many NXes every year would be ridiculous!

Re: New Version-Exclusive Pokémon, Pokémon Refresh and More Shown Off for Sun and Moon
Okay. One, I hate monkeys. And two, I hate sports.
So why on earth do I like Passimian so much??
Re: Review: Games For Toddlers (Wii U eShop)
It's garbage like this that tells mainstream gamers to call ALL Wii U games "Games for Toddlers".

Re: WarioWare Smooth Moves Arrives on the North American eShop This Week
Sweet. I only got to rent this from Blockbuster once a long time ago, so it'll be nice to revisit it.
Re: Splatoon Version 2.12 is Now Live
Yeah, too bad it's not actually playable anymore since online multiplayer support's ended and all.
