Re: Best Star Fox Games Of All Time

B_Lindz

@ChromaticDracula I'm thrilled that you liked it! Once you play Assault, it is genuinely hard to understand why so few SF fans have actually played it. I can't imagine what SF would have become if Nintendo had continued with Assault's trajectory instead of flushing the franchise in the toilet with the sub-par handheld games and SF Zero.

Re: Every Yoshi Game Ranked

I once heard the Yoshi franchise described as the most consistently mediocre Nintendo franchise and I was shocked by how much I agreed with that statement.

Re: Soapbox: Playing Games With Other People Made Me Realise That I'm A Monster

I usually don't enjoy playing co-op games because I end up being the guy that just turns my brain off and follows the other person like a younger sibling. Inevitably, I get bored or I just start to eff around because I'm bored. It's odd because I don't ever do this when I play solo, just when I'm playing games with other people.

The only exception to this was It Takes Two. That game makes you work together and it was perfect.

Re: Random: Masahiro Sakurai Says He Prefers To Buy Video Games Digitally

B_Lindz

Personally, I prefer digital. Physical is nice, but it makes potential future backwards compatibility a bit of beeotch. I've basically come to the realization that I'm going to have to repurchase every single physical PS4 and PS5 game I own on PC if I want to be able to play them forever. With Switch, same thing with all the indie games I've bought on Switch. Once my Switch dies in 20 some odd years them those games are gone forever if I don't buy them again on Steam. This is basically why I've stopped buying anything but exclusives for PS5 and Switch, opting for Steam instead.

Re: Best Of 2022: How Video Games Can Be Brilliant For Your Mental Health

Breath of the Wild got me through the worst breakup of my life. The Last of Us series got me through 2020. Celeste got me through my BFA finals. Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Generation got me through living with some of the worst roommates I have ever had in my life. Night in the Woods and Journey got me through when I lost my job a few years back. Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess got me through middle school. I owe a lot to the incredible developers that have created the games that helped me get through some of the hardest stages of my life. Truly, thank you to each and every one of them.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Sonic Frontiers?

B_Lindz

I was watching a video by Jake Baldino the other day about Sonic Frontiers and I think he summed up why I'm going to pass on this game. Sonic fans, specifically 3D Sonic fans, are built differently. I have a really low tolerance for jankiness and bugginess in games and a game's story makes or breaks the experience for me. This game is not for me and I commend NintendoLife for their honesty in how they really felt about their experience with the game.

Re: Best Pokémon-Likes On Nintendo Switch - Games To Play After You've Finished Pokémon

B_Lindz

I remember when I first played Ni No Kuni a few years back. I finished the game and had the grand realization that I would never be able to play a Pokémon game again because I had just played a game that scratched the same itch but was better in virtually every single way. Ni No Kuni is incredible and I genuinely believe it what the Pokémon series could have become in terms of storytelling, art direction, and gameplay if GameFreak hadn't decided to make the same game over and over for the past 25 years.

Re: Soapbox: Endless Zelda Remakes Are A Poor Substitute For Backwards Compatibility

B_Lindz

At the end of the day, you really do vote with your wallet. For example, I want to buy TLoU:P1, but I don't support selling it for $70, so I'm waiting until it's $40. Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Remake was great, so I bought it. Let's Go Pikachu looked like a cute but pointless upgrade from a franchise that refuses to get with the times, so I didn't buy it. Honestly, I'm surprised by how many people I see in these comment sections that buy games simply because they were made by Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft. It's like, you know you have your agency, right?

Re: The Hardest Games On Nintendo Switch

B_Lindz

Okay, yeah, I'll vouch for Super Mario 3D World. I NEARLY 100%-ed that game... until I hit that last level. The game beat me. I realized after dying between 70–100 times that my hands did not have the speed and dexterity needed to beat that level. Maybe when I was younger, but I just couldn't do it.
