I've preordered it as of a couple of days ago..
I was on the fence but thoroughly enjoyed the first and completed it on Wii all those years back. Here's hoping it's good.

I can't believe they have added Extreme G. I got it for Christmas 1998 along with Zelda. Great memories, a fantastic soundtrack too.
I'll have to boot up the Switch for an hour before work to play this. This is great news 👏

Anyone have an original gameboy today still? I popped into CEX today and picked up tatsunoko vs capcom for the Wii and was tempted by a pristine condition original Gameboy.. Although £70 seems to be the going rate now.. They are not cheap.

70k for the Switch in it's 8th year on the market vs 20k for the PS5. Hmm, not too shabby. 😆

Nintendo are playing their cards close to their chest. Although, soon I expect after Endless Ocean and Paper Mario release in June we will get what will likely be the last fully focused Switch only direct.
It will likely show Luigi's Mansion 2 HD as that will be releasing by that point imminently, plus whatever Nintendo has planned for July to December.
We are probably looking at a couple of remasters and a relatively strong third part exclusive to pave out the second half of the year along with what's already announced, perhaps a small price cut too... We will see, I guess.

I really enjoyed this on the Wii, put 25 hours + into it. Yo hear that the Switch version will have motion controls is great news. Providing it's a solid port overall I will be picking this up.

I popped in on Saturday just gone at 11am, on which you would think would be their busiest day of the week. I was the only one in that time... I can't see it lasting much longer. I give it another Christmas then see it closing say Late Jan next year once they have sold off remaining stock in a January firesale..

@JohnnyMind Princess Peach Showtime is certainly doing well. 3 weeks in the top 10 is good going. 👍 Along with 2 weeks at number 1 in Japan I would think it's performing above expectations so far.

No, I can play it in my Series S if I wanted too, where it performs a lot better. However, it's good that the Switch will have a version of the title.

Haha, remember this is Jim Ryan, he's come out with a lot of rubbish over the years. It will stay at the 155 million officially reported, if they wanted it to be different they should have reported the figures. For all we know he could make up any number he likes 🤣🤣

@RubyCarbuncle Exactly, I've put in 5 hours this weekend to it and I expect it will take me about 10 hours all in. I haven't found any framerate issues either, it's a solid 8/10 from me. Well worth picking up. I hope it hangs in the charts for a few weeks, it deserves too.

I've seriously been enjoying Princess Peach Showtime. The hub really reminds me of Super Mario 64. It's a good game to chill to over a weekend. Glad I got it on release.

I was on the fence, I liked the demo and have pre-ordered it just in time to receive the bonus pre order pin. ShopTo have it for £39.85 which is the cheapest I could find it. Although easy it should be quite fun, looking forward to it.

But nothing from Nintendo for July onwards, I would expect a direct in time that will announce at least 3 games for the 2nd half of 2024 to occur.

1 week at number 1 and 3 in the top 5 for Mario vs Donkey Kong, good stuff.
Also EA Sports FC 24 sold most physically on Switch this week. Surely that's a first..
(I'm aware it's been on a steep discount on Amazon, that's probably helped)

@boxyguy I think that that's the case. Big triple AAA games cost so much money and time to make now. If just one doesn't succeed it can mean layoffs are required for any given studio.
The cost/time risk management is far far to risky in my view as it stands..

It's expensive but worth it in my view, would love a physical version of this.

@Qwiff Yes, they do discounts rarely. They do happen though, but this likely won't see any change in price for at least 9 month's... (Perhaps a year)

It looks a bit ropey but a slight improvement on last years visually, that got 7/10, so I expect it will probably get about that again.

So, it will likely be a duel platform release in early 2025. That means the Switch needs a game or two for Christmas 2024 does it not... 🤔

Splatoon 3 Splatfest and Lumines Remastered.

I would be fine with a March 2025 release. There's no doubt the Switch can maintain enough momentum at this point.
I wonder if with all the rumours of a new PlayStation portable and Microsoft also greenlighting a handheld it has made Nintendo hold back a bit.
If they were to delay the release by 6 - 9 months and make the Switch 2 more powerfull, it may ensure it can hold its own on the ports front.

@Clyde_Radcliffe Yes, it does seem to be cheaper here in the UK. £31.99 in Argos is not bad. I'm waiting however a couple of weeks, hoping to nab a preowned copy on Ebay for £25 - £30.

@ZealMajin That seems very likely to me, I would think they will do 2/3 editions with an expensive deluxe edition.. This deserves (if optimised well) a normal physical release, at a fair price. Something we won't get.. 😒

What they have said leads me to believe a Limited Run release is coming down the line..

I mean they could... Especially if they were to drop the price of the system and pad out the release schedule with a Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD port over the year. If they sell roughly 16 million this year they could likely still reach 12/13 million in 2024 that way..

It's time for another Banjo Kazooie run through, with additional time spent in Freezy Peak as it's Christmas.
I also need to play my new copy of WarioWare: Move it. Other than that, F-Zero 99 is my go to when I have a few minutes, especially with the winter theamed tracks.

Tetris 99 and F Zero 99, two easy pick up and play games. I'm also playing the original Splatoon online on Wii U for all its worth before the servers go down.. 👍😃

@dugan Excellent Wreckfest port on Switch. I've put 35 hours plus into the Switch version, more time than I've played it on my Series S. Seriously good game 😄

@Avaloner The timings for the show we're very poorly managed. Geoff has agreed this since the show happened and agreed to resolve it for next year, I just hope he takes note.

7/10 Seems slightly harsh, the graphics, soundtrack and and controls are great if just a little unforgiving. It's just a tad too hard and could do with another couple of tracks for my liking. 8/10 for me.
