Re: Physical Game Sales Took A Nosedive In The UK Last Year

BANJO

@Zuljaras 225 physical Switch games, that's a lot. I thought I had a big collection but it's nothing like that. 😅
(I'm not surprised you need a spreadsheet)

I expect to get perhaps another 20 Switch games by the end of it's lifespan. I'm sure there's still quite a few which I'll pick up over the next 2/3 years....

Hmm, regarding never buying a game I didn't like. The vast majority I've purchased I have enjoyed, but I will admit there's been a few that I regretted picking up, in that case I've then sold/traded them in to get something else instead. 😄

Re: Physical Game Sales Took A Nosedive In The UK Last Year

BANJO

@Zuljaras Me too, nearly all physical. Although, if it's it's absurdly cheap or digital only I will buy it when on a discount.
I go physical first if possible, and digital as a last resort.
I've got 92 Physical Switch games and 52 digital, I have double dipped for a few both physical and digital (don't ask why.....)

Re: UK Charts: 2025 Gets Off To A Predictable Start, With Familiar Faces Dominating

BANJO

@Jalex_64 Yes, exciting times await. As you say, the next few directs should be packed full with many PS4/PS5 ports for the new system.
I feel like Nintendo has delayed they release of the Switch 2 to basically plan out the first 18 - 24 months of first part releases and ensure the third part support is strong too.

There should be a lot of titles to look forward too in 2025 for sure...

Re: UK Charts: 2025 Gets Off To A Predictable Start, With Familiar Faces Dominating

BANJO

@Jalex_64 Yes, very impressive considering it's origins. Well yes if you double up and add another Sony platform so 2 x Sony to just the 1 Nintendo platform then it's near parity.

The Switch has performed excellently this generation for many games third party wise. Hopefully this continues with the Switch 2.

Yes, I can foresee the Switch 2 getting a great deal of PS4/Xbox One ports, which along with Nintendo's output should stand it in good stead.

Re: Random: Fans Are Begging Nintendo's Ex President To Sell His N64 Collection

BANJO

@KeeperBvK Well yes, if your Ngage is not in as good condition, it will be worth less. (Although a working unit in just "ok condition" is probably worth more than you think, the prices are only going to go up)
The revised QD models seem to go for more money over the original models.
As you said, the games are either cheapish or really expensive...
The games you mentioned, Civilization and the Atari Collections, were some of the very last released games for the phone.
Consequently, they were produced in extremely small quantities.
(Literally just a 100 or so some have said)
So sealed copies of any of these really can go for crazy prices.
It only takes a few people worldwide to be after the game and once it's listed online, it's a case of who has the deepest pockets..
Talking about NCAA and with me being from the UK, it was obviously not released here. I was lucky to get a cheap copy from Ebay for next to nothing back in the day..
It's pricey, but plenty of copies seem to be on Ebay currently. It was obviously produced in relatively large numbers.

Re: Random: Fans Are Begging Nintendo's Ex President To Sell His N64 Collection

BANJO

@KeeperBvK Well, to be fair not many originally cared when it was originally released. (2.5m to 3m sold roughly) 😄 That's likely why a boxed good condition Ngage/QD is going for a high price now. (Rarity)
You are right regarding some of the games, the much more common games with many copies produced e.g Tomb Raider, Pandemonium, Fifa 2004 etc go for cheap but yes Shadowkey, Mile High Pinball, Glimmerati, go for massive fees, especially sealed copies..

Re: 'Switch 2' Is Projected To Be The "Clear Winner" In The Next Console Generation

BANJO

@Banjo- It should be fine, although it won't be plain sailing like it was with the Switch, I'm aware Nintendo has a fight on their hands this time..

Yes, their next gen games are intriguing. I have a feeling they will aim to do what they did with the Switch.
By that I mean at least plan the first party schedule first the first 18 months out with a few must have titles. (Mario Kart, Mario Odyssey 2, Splatoon 4, a Zelda title of sorts)
Basically a big title every 3 months, so 5/6 big hitters out within 18 months to get sales going.
Then, after this aim to release a lite version of the console within a year to keep them going thereafter. (Tap into that casual market)

It's going to be pushing their dev teams to the limits with the increased development times/costs to produce the next gen games..
I think they will manage, just...

I think alot of PS4 ports a la Street Fighter, Resident Evil 4 will help to pad out the third party side of things. Bandai Namco might be allowed the keys to some different Nintendo Ip's, to keep the titles rolling out the gate..
Other developers too will need to be called upon.

Interesting times lie ahead.... 😃

Re: 'Switch 2' Is Projected To Be The "Clear Winner" In The Next Console Generation

BANJO

@Banjo- We will certainly see. I believe although Switch will have increased competition most casuals still will still go for the Switch 2.
Also Nintendo only has one platform to push, it's a case of all their eggs being in one basket. They need it to be a success, because of this, I think it will succeed one way or another.
They will have no second platform like they had with the 3DS to bring in the monies while the Wii U was floundering.
Although, I still admit sales will decline for the device to 85 to 95 million, a steep decline from the 150+ from what the Switch will end on.

Re: Japanese Charts: Mario Party Jamboree Ends Dragon Quest III's Reign

BANJO

@Nintendo_Thumb Thanks for the indepth response.

It's good to know that the bowling is better than ever. That was my favourite from the past entries. The golf interests me too.

I would likely play it a great deal online, so quick matching helps. It's not a bad price in a few outlets currently in the run up to Christmas. I might have to finally pick it up. Thanks.

Re: Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed Receives Its Second Major Update, Here's What's Included

BANJO

@Kyloctopus It had relatively good first week sales if I remember correctly. Entered within the top 10 but then the sales just dropped of a cliff...
However, it entered the physical charts again when it received a large discount a week or so back.. It might break a million across all platforms when all is said and done..
Although, overall I would have thought it would have performed better in the run up to Christmas too.
