This is the most pointless prediction ever.
Predicting sales for a piece of yet unannounced hardware, with an unknown price or release date.
This also doesn't take into account any software, which is also completely unknown as it stands. 😅
Utter pure speculation... Utterly pointless 🤣
@Zuljaras 225 physical Switch games, that's a lot. I thought I had a big collection but it's nothing like that. 😅
(I'm not surprised you need a spreadsheet)
I expect to get perhaps another 20 Switch games by the end of it's lifespan. I'm sure there's still quite a few which I'll pick up over the next 2/3 years....
Hmm, regarding never buying a game I didn't like. The vast majority I've purchased I have enjoyed, but I will admit there's been a few that I regretted picking up, in that case I've then sold/traded them in to get something else instead. 😄
@Zuljaras Me too, nearly all physical. Although, if it's it's absurdly cheap or digital only I will buy it when on a discount. I go physical first if possible, and digital as a last resort. I've got 92 Physical Switch games and 52 digital, I have double dipped for a few both physical and digital (don't ask why.....)
@Jalex_64 Yes, exciting times await. As you say, the next few directs should be packed full with many PS4/PS5 ports for the new system. I feel like Nintendo has delayed they release of the Switch 2 to basically plan out the first 18 - 24 months of first part releases and ensure the third part support is strong too.
There should be a lot of titles to look forward too in 2025 for sure...
@Jalex_64 Yes, very impressive considering it's origins. Well yes if you double up and add another Sony platform so 2 x Sony to just the 1 Nintendo platform then it's near parity.
The Switch has performed excellently this generation for many games third party wise. Hopefully this continues with the Switch 2.
Yes, I can foresee the Switch 2 getting a great deal of PS4/Xbox One ports, which along with Nintendo's output should stand it in good stead.
@KeeperBvK Well yes, if your Ngage is not in as good condition, it will be worth less. (Although a working unit in just "ok condition" is probably worth more than you think, the prices are only going to go up)
The revised QD models seem to go for more money over the original models.
As you said, the games are either cheapish or really expensive...
The games you mentioned, Civilization and the Atari Collections, were some of the very last released games for the phone.
Consequently, they were produced in extremely small quantities.
(Literally just a 100 or so some have said)
So sealed copies of any of these really can go for crazy prices.
It only takes a few people worldwide to be after the game and once it's listed online, it's a case of who has the deepest pockets..
Talking about NCAA and with me being from the UK, it was obviously not released here. I was lucky to get a cheap copy from Ebay for next to nothing back in the day..
It's pricey, but plenty of copies seem to be on Ebay currently. It was obviously produced in relatively large numbers.
@KeeperBvK Well, to be fair not many originally cared when it was originally released. (2.5m to 3m sold roughly) 😄 That's likely why a boxed good condition Ngage/QD is going for a high price now. (Rarity)
You are right regarding some of the games, the much more common games with many copies produced e.g Tomb Raider, Pandemonium, Fifa 2004 etc go for cheap but yes Shadowkey, Mile High Pinball, Glimmerati, go for massive fees, especially sealed copies..
@KeeperBvK It's a great little device. It was my phone too for a long while back in the day. The device now especially boxed goes for an ever increasing price. They have become very collectable. 😃
Switch is still going strong in 2025. Plenty to look forward to. No doubt a few titles still to announce. Although it's the transitional year now to Switch 2. Looking forward to see what the year brings...
@Clammy Yes, it seems likely. Or they might do a duel release for a couple of the titles.. 🤔 Release them both on Switch and Switch 2 at the same time.
A very late January announcement that it exists. But I don't think we will get much info till at a later date. I'm expecting a early September release.
@Banjo- It should be fine, although it won't be plain sailing like it was with the Switch, I'm aware Nintendo has a fight on their hands this time..
Yes, their next gen games are intriguing. I have a feeling they will aim to do what they did with the Switch.
By that I mean at least plan the first party schedule first the first 18 months out with a few must have titles. (Mario Kart, Mario Odyssey 2, Splatoon 4, a Zelda title of sorts)
Basically a big title every 3 months, so 5/6 big hitters out within 18 months to get sales going.
Then, after this aim to release a lite version of the console within a year to keep them going thereafter. (Tap into that casual market)
It's going to be pushing their dev teams to the limits with the increased development times/costs to produce the next gen games..
I think they will manage, just...
I think alot of PS4 ports a la Street Fighter, Resident Evil 4 will help to pad out the third party side of things. Bandai Namco might be allowed the keys to some different Nintendo Ip's, to keep the titles rolling out the gate..
Other developers too will need to be called upon.
@BenAV This, if they Have Mario Kart 9, Splatoon 4 and a Mario Odyssey 2 within the first 18 months then it should sell well. I would bundle the new Mario Kart with the system and advertise it heavily.
@Banjo- We will certainly see. I believe although Switch will have increased competition most casuals still will still go for the Switch 2. Also Nintendo only has one platform to push, it's a case of all their eggs being in one basket. They need it to be a success, because of this, I think it will succeed one way or another. They will have no second platform like they had with the 3DS to bring in the monies while the Wii U was floundering. Although, I still admit sales will decline for the device to 85 to 95 million, a steep decline from the 150+ from what the Switch will end on.
A fantastic game, I've put 90 hours in so far, this tournament over the festive period will put me over the 100 hour mark in total I'm sure. The Nintendo Online Subscription has been worth it alone for this....
@Bolt_Strike Time will tell, I'm optimistic like the report. I believe they are aware of their past failures and have been planning accordingly. I think it should be a success, while not as successful as the Switch, a solid success nonetheless.
@Bolt_Strike I agree about what you say about chipping away at Switch's niche. That's why I think 85 to 95m and not 145+. I think that Nintendo is aware of this and will perhaps have a couple of idea's up their sleeve to push sales forward for the Switch 2. I think they hopefully have learnt their lesson with the Wii U.
@Banjo- Exactly, It's very hard to predict before we have seen it. It looks like it will be more of the same with increased performance. Time will tell.
It's very hard to predict before we have seen it. This all looks certainly hopeful, although I can't see it selling as well as Switch. If it's more of the same while excellent and exactly what I'm after, I still think sales will be less. I predict sales near to the original Wii numbers, perhaps a little less, so 85 - 95 million for Switch 2.
@calbeau Haha.... When they found that extra few million after Switch was getting close... Considering the timing it's really quite insulting to think we would actually believe them...
@JokerCK Haha, they will pretend to magically come up with another couple of million, that's the usual Sony way. If the truth doesn't suit them they invent a new one....
Now we are in the finishing stretch up to Christmas at this point I'm happy just to roll along with the Switch and leave all the Switch 2 rumours till the first week of January. 🤣
It's good to know that the bowling is better than ever. That was my favourite from the past entries. The golf interests me too.
I would likely play it a great deal online, so quick matching helps. It's not a bad price in a few outlets currently in the run up to Christmas. I might have to finally pick it up. Thanks.
I watched RGT85 do a video on this, he seems quite confident that this will happen. It looks like the perfect filler title to go alongside Donkey Kong for next year. Perhaps a May/June release is on the cards 🤔
I still haven't got Switch Sports, is it actually worth getting? I feel like I had my fill when Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort hit.. Anyone a massive fan?? (It's one of the few titles I feel I should perhaps have in my collection before we move on to next gen)
@Kyloctopus It had relatively good first week sales if I remember correctly. Entered within the top 10 but then the sales just dropped of a cliff...
However, it entered the physical charts again when it received a large discount a week or so back.. It might break a million across all platforms when all is said and done..
Although, overall I would have thought it would have performed better in the run up to Christmas too.
Donkey Kong Country Returns HD will be great for January, and February has the next bunch of Tomb Raider games remastered. That covers the first two months for me 😄
@AlleyCat This happened to me too. Purchased it in the UK for £40 from Amazon only for it to be £24 in the black Friday sales.. Still a great game, just wish I too had got it for less.
Glad I picked up a physical version years ago... The input lag is only very minor for me, it's not been that much of an issue. Well worth picking up physically.
I have it on Switch and PS4, both seem great. Although I'm ready for Switch 2 now. 😃 The thing is, although Switch sales are down year on year they are still very solid and very good in Japan. Nintendo is in no rush to release the secussor.. Why should they be.
@maxrpg This, now we are into November. I think 2025 Feb/March announcement with a fall (Sept) release. 2025 for Switch looks busy enough to keep things ticking along until then.

Enjoyable to see Tomb Raider I-II-III Remastered on Switch sell literally double PS5's physical copies. (Breakdown, 52% - Switch, 26% - PS5) hehe... 😄

@Jiggies Incredibly strong third party Switch games sales too. As you say it's a very different situation from the Wii U.

All these games coming to the Switch when Switch 2 is going to be released in the same year... I just can't see it happening 😅
Re: Best Of 2024: Vanillaware's Most Underrated Game Is More Than Just A Pretty Picture
I repurchased a mint copy of this for the Wii a few years back. Need to play this again at some point. An HD remaster seems like a no brainer for me.

Re: F-Zero 99 Updated To Version 1.5.5, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

That Game and Wario title too, how could I forget that (I own a copy )
