Re: Nintendo Infographic Showcases The Games Featured In June's Direct

BANJO

@Thomystic Exactly this, this direct was emptying the barrel of what left for the Switch. They are filling the next year or so with big names but relatively easy to make games.
A 2D Mario, a Luigi remaster, 2D Peach game etc...
The time consuming next 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Metroid 4, will all be saved for the next console at this point.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

BANJO

@Banjo- Yes, I agree, the Switch has been abit "same again" as it's recycled alot of the Wii U games. Being a loyal Wii U owner has had it's pitfalls. I really could do with a new Mario Kart now and a Toad Treasure Tracker 2 would be great and of course a new Donkey Kong..
It has worked out well for Nintendo as all they had to do was port them across to the much larger user base and watch the sales fly in. However, for those of us who have already played them it's very underwhelming to say the least πŸ˜’

@Banjo- @johnvboy

I believe the same as johnvboy in that after the disaster that was the Wii U they have managed to build up a strong brand with the Switch. I would think the next console is a follow up to the Switch because of this.
I would think it will be backwards compatible too, from a business perspective this all makes logical sense.
The only slight worry I have is that Nintendo is Nintendo, I'm sure you know what I mean by that. You never can quite tell with them. I hope they don't go off course with some gimmick for the next console...
While I believe that to be very unlikely it needs to be mentioned, and with the failure of the Wii U I strongly think and hope they proceed with the sensible path of expanding upon the Switches success with a more powerful and backwards compatible variant.

On answer to your second question, if it's revealed next year I believe they will go all out like with the Switch. They know that it will need to launch with a must have title. Breath of the wild launched with Switch and basically sold the system by itself. They will want to replicate this again. It will have been over six years since Odyssey soon so I would like to think the Switches successor will launch with a new 3D Mario.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

BANJO

@johnvboy Exactly this, a great direct, however, I think Nintendo has literally shown their remaining hand with everything they have left for the Switch. The Switch will certainly go out with a bang though, 2 Mario's for the Christmas 23 season with the Peach title and Luigi's Mansion closing down the Switch generation in 2024.
We still have a great amount to look forward to before the Switch successor launches between June and October 2024 in my view..
Detective Pichachu/Pikmin 1 & 2 HD plus that Wario title are great additions for the Switch in it's twilight years. Nintendo's being very generous towards the end of the Switches life it must be said.
Although, I do now think that Metroid 4 and the rumoured Twilight Princess/Wind Waker HD Collection will now be saved for Switch 2 or whatever they decide to call it at thus point.. πŸ€”

Re: Poll: Are You Still Playing Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

BANJO

@Cashews I was thinking of getting Bayo Origins but will admit I had forgotten about it since. Yes, Nintendolife's review did seem abit harsh, especially when ign gave it a 9/10. I might look into picking up a preowned copy I think, thank you for the advice πŸ˜€

Re: UK Charts: Kirby's Return To Dream Land Deluxe Takes The Bronze In A Busy Week

BANJO

@Uncle_Franklin It is quite alot I guess, especially when I just got the Metro Collection (All 3 FPS games) for Β£9.99 on My Series S.
Nintendo first-party games are my weakness to get at launch and pay big bucks for..
Basically everything else I get on sale later on for well well below the rrp.
Also yes, if the mini games were online that would certainly help. πŸ˜€

Re: Nintendo Uploads New Switch Online Overview Trailer, Game Boy Now Included

BANJO

The service especially if you have the expansion version now promotes a decent lineup of games. Just looking at my time spent on the games and I've spent 5+ hours on FZeroX, Mario Kart 64, Mario Tennis, Goldeneye and obviously Banjo Kazooie 😁
That's 25+ hours on just the N64 stuff, add in the SNES, NES, and Megadrive before even thinking about GBA and Gameboy games and it's quite good value for money now.
I just wish they would add games quicker but this service will carry on to the next console so I guess Nintendo need to drip feed them out over time...
My only worry is the price will soon increase as Nintendo highly regard their back catalogue and will think we are getting to much for the price... πŸ€”
