Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Nintendo World Championships NES Edition Zelda Echoes of Wisdom Mario Party Jamboree Mario and Luigi Brothership Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Metroid 4 Beyond
That's not bad for first party support for a system in it's last year. 👌
@vio It would be good if they were ported over, although that's likely too much to hope for this late into the Switches lifespan... You never know though 😄
@LadyCharlie I would think it's cross gen, with it looking better on Switch 2. It will be the Switch's swansong. Although I do expect we may get another couple of ports or remasters for Christmas 2025 considering the Switch's vast userbase. We will see...
Well, June has Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, July has NES Remix, that leaves August to December to fill. We need a few ports/remasters and some solid third party offerings to keep the ball rolling to close out 2024. Hopefully Nintendo delivers. 😄
@Lofoten Exactly, I can't see it releasing on Switch at this point. Better to release it early in the Switch 2's life with less competition and all of the benefit of the new systems buzz...
I've got this on order for launch day but am now tempted to cancel it, or at least wait for a review before splashing out for this. The paid for DLC which should be in game is a kick in the teeth for sure.....
@Mattock1987 I think it's just about good enough. It's a solid port of a game that really has no rights to be on Switch. The fact it came out on base PS4/Xbox One makes the downgrade just about passable.
@ShonenJump121 Same here, still using my 2017 Switch. I only play it docked with the pro controller for 95% of the time, so it's still basically like new. However, like yourself, I'm aware it's getting old, so I will likely pick up an Oled Switch whenever I can get a good deal.
I've had about 15 hours out of it so far and feel it's run it's course now. I will keep it for the upcoming events though. By any chance does anyone know when the next event is? Are they monthly??
@GreyFenyx It's sales are modest, but I agree. I think it's had a small print run. It's one of those titles in years to come where a sealed copy could be worth a high price.
I want the game physically, but I'm not bothered about the other bits. I just don’t want to pay the absurd price for the deluxe edition. Why couldn't they just make it a normal release 😕
Princess Peach holding strong at 12. I did think Endless Ocean might hand around between 30 to 40 for a week but no, it's gone. Japan sales will be stronger, possibly 500k or 600k if we are lucky total worldwide.
I'm enjoying the online event, adds a bit of much needed variety. 😀 Still nothing amazing really but if we could have one of these say once a fortnight for a few months, it would keep me coming back like Tetris 99 does with the themes..
@Mana_Knight Great, I'm glad you got it. There's a reason it's performing so well in the charts, as it's better than expected. I really enjoyed it, and have put 20+ hours into it. It's certainly well worth getting. I enjoyed the water levels the best.
Regarding CEX trade in prices, yes, it sounds like they gave you the CASH price for the trade-in instead, so a lesser amount. You should be due some money back from that.
I heard the odd person comment on the choppyness of the game, I didn't have an issue throughout, really. It seems to play very solid from start to finish, well at least it did for me..
I'm glad you are enjoying it more than anticipated ☺️
@UltimateOtaku91 Exactly, some of the aspects I like, what's there is good, but it overall seems a little lacking. The multiplayer options you stated would add a good competitive element to it. 😀
@UltimateOtaku91 I agree that Endless Ocean will certainly struggle to sell a million. Entering in at 3 in Japan is good going. However, I think its sales will fall off quickly. There seem to be two camps of opinions from those who have purchased it. Those who endlessly defend it (see what I did there) and those who call it very barebones.. I'm in between the two 🤣.... I like it, but I think it could have been a lot better.
@Altaria_97 Me too, the extras while nice are not what I'm after. A simple physical mainline release is what I wanted. Instead its download only or an expensive limited edition... It's really not ideal.
It's very well deserved, what I find more impressive is how little realistically they managed to lose over the Wii U era. During those years the performance of the 3DS turnaround and Amiibo figures really saved their bacon and gave them the adequate time required to come up with the R&D for the Switch. 2013, 2014 and 2015 were the key years where decisions were made which now bare the fruit of Nintendos current financial position.
@-wc- If you are after a totally chill experience and don't mind the fact the story aspect is lacking, its worth it. I think you would enjoy it, but as you say, playing it at a friend's first is definitely the way to go to. 😀
@-wc- It certainly has a bit of a cult following it seems, obviously enough for it to crack the top 10. I for one was going to get it regardless having enjoyed the first two. It's been just about worth getting for me.
@OctolingKing13 I will admit I didn't think it would make the top 10. The games not as good as the first two entries, but I'm still glad I picked it up. The Metacritic score of 63% is a fair score I would say. I'm hoping the online events prolong the value of it, we will see.
@UltimateOtaku91 The first two are alot better in every sense. They both have a proper story mode, with much more detailed objectives and things to do. The story mode in Luminous is not really a story, just a few cutscenes by comparison with a basic tutorial at the beginning. I would certainly recommend picking either of them up in preference to Luminous.
@UltimateOtaku91 Same, I spoke it up on here last week after the 5/10 review saying a calm jaunt around the seafloor is all I wanted.
To be fair, that's what we have got, and while it is fun for what it is, it's nowhere near as good as the original or Endless Ocean 2.
I've put in a good few hours, and while I have enjoyed it, it's story mode is very limited, and the fantastic orchestral soundtrack from the first game is nowhere to be seen here.
I'm hoping the online event on the 10th saves it a bit.
@Max_the_German Yes, it's theirs for the taking at this point. It really depends how much they want to push Switch sales when the successor is around the corner.
Hmm, I'm interested to see how they pad out Jul - Dec. Other than the Nes World Championship game, perhaps another couple of remasters lined up for Christmas.🤔 I can forsee lots of Splatfests, and some N64/SNES games being added to Switch online to keep things ticking along... It really depends on how much Nintendo would rather save for the Switch successor at this point while keeping the Switch itself going.. Perhaps they will be generous and go out with bang and we will get lot's of Switch announcements 🤣😄
It certainly has a solid chance of beating PS2 sales at this point. In the bigger scheme of things, it's helped Nintendo financially have some of their best years ever, year after year. A masterclass of a turnaround compared to the Wii U.
So direct in June and confirming it's for Switch only. At least we know where we stand for this direct, so it will literally show what's coming for Switch for the second half of the year (Jul - Dec)
@LXP8 Yes, I've read some reviews of it and I think I may enjoy it more than the Switch version, we will see. Thanks, I'll bare that in mind, I'll upgrade my divers oxygen when possible. Both the Wii second version and the Switch edition have arrived today in the post while I'm at work currently. I'm wondering what to play first now.. 🤔 😄
Very well deserved, after completing it but not collecting anywhere near all the sparkles I've gone back to it within the last few days to try and scoop up the rest. I'm still enjoying it greatly, some of the levels especially the underwater levels are beautifully done. My niece also is about half the way through it and plays it every time she comes round. Highly recommended.
@Fizza Same, I've just ordered the second edition for the Wii (having played the first, which I really enjoyed all the way back in 2008) to go alongside this new version for the Switch. There's lot of exploring the ocean ahead for me, it seems 😄

Upcoming From Nintendo:

Metroid 4 Beyond
That's not bad for first party support for a system in it's last year. 👌

Pre-ordered it, I actually own it on the 3DS but have never got around to playing it. I will play it this time. 😅

Luigi's Mansion 2 HD and Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble for me. A solid month overall. 😀
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st June)
Art of Rally and Splatoon 3 for the new content. Also a quick go on F Zero 99.
Happy Weekend all. 😃

-Tetris 99 for the Endless Ocean Theme.
-Endless Ocean Luminous for the event dive
-F Zero 99 for the timed mirrored championship events.
All the limited time bits really, have a good weekend all. ☺️

Princess Peach up to 4, in it's 6th or seventh week is fantastic. Well deserved!!
