I'm willing to bet most people complaining about the key-cards would not have said a word if all of them were digital only eshop games.

....people remember that Switch 1 only had 32 Gb carts right? I remember there being a fair amount of relative disappointment every time a major release had a download code, cloud version, or only part of the game on the cartridge, but this is a lot more doom and gloom for something I would expect us all to be used to by now no? The Switch 1 seemed to do just fine with the public despite the cartridges and there were plenty of 3rd party games that did release in full physically.

That's 100% what I figured they would be, otherwise why have that huge disclaimer text on the front of the box saying it included both separately? Most of them would be the same price as buying the Switch cart and then the upgrade pack anyway. Just another minor disappointment about it not being on the cart, but overall a non-issue imo.

@Athropos Yup, I'd like to have a physical game too! But since that literally doesn't exist your choice is either a digital game permanently tied to the console or a game card that activates a digital game on multiple consoles.

@HammerKirby So you're basically saying this is just a new name for something that already exists currently? I don't remember there being THIS much backlash for those.

@Athropos Okay? Just buy the digital version then if that bothers you. You can't play physical games without the card either.

I think Game Keys are better than codes in a box at least. From what I understand you can at least lone them out and trade them and the case isn't useless plastic.

Just like everyone else here it seems, COLD case and Tokimeki Memorial were the most interesting ones that I would get probably if brought westward.

Out of curiosity, does anyone here actually browse through digital storefronts to find games? I ask because I never do. With the exception of Steam Discovery Queue, I always get games based on advertising, word of mouth, reviews, "hidden gems lists" etc. etc.

Kind of neat information, adding Brothership and Jamboree to wikipedias list of "Best Selling Switch Games" confirms at least 99 games that have passed 1 million on the system. 21 have passed 10 million. 9 have passed 20. 4 beyond 30. 2 surpassed 40 and of course MK8 passed 50 AND 60. Very impressive.

@OorWullie I suppose you got me there, Pikmin or Metroid Prime with mouse control could be nice, but it just does not look like a good option regardless to me, purely due to form factor. Unless they release a standalone mouse accessory like on the SNES lol

I just don't see that many games utilizing it because wouldn't that force the player to have access to a flat surface for put the joycon on? Not to mention that game would not be able to be played handheld. And I don't know anybody that was like "Man, this form fitting mouse for my computer is too sleek, wish I had a hard uncomfortable rectangle to slide around my desk instead." Perhaps someone else can explain the angle where this would be useful? Because I just can't see it.

You can definitely see how its built upon 8's foundations, just like how 8 was off of 7, but it still looks like its going to be its own thing.

Now the question is if people are able to be patient for the April blowout.

This was done because of Shadow of Erdtree and Geoff is a FromSoft simp that wants senpai to notice him. There were plenty of massive epic game expansions and DLCs prior, so why now? I personally have never taken The Game Awards seriously, theyre just glorified ads, and this is another step in affirming that opinion to me.

Only one of their games I played was the Sexy Brutale and that was a gem of a game. Truly a shame more talent was lost.

What a nothing story. Whether the emulator is open-source or not its Nintendo's own ROMS running on them. If you could prove Nintendo had taken the roms from a pirating site maybe youd have something to say, but Nintendo using an emulator (which is something they've done numerous times at this point) means literally nothing. Not surprised people are complaining about it though, these days people will look for any excuse to get mad at corpos for internet brownie points. I am surprised this was turned into an article for clicks though. Guess it worked.

@Kidfunkadelic83 There are certainly some things that could be samey, like the boats on the deck and tiling the floors for the cabins, but since you have two people working it shouldn't be too bad.

I'm sure she'll appreciate the cost-effectiveness of the gesture! Make sure when you give them to her again you say something like, "These roses symbolize my love, while it may appear at times to be broken down, it will always be rebuilt anew in your presence." and then watch and avoids you the rest of the day from cringe.

@Kidfunkadelic83 That one does look like a really fun build. Very vibrant and full of life for a lego set. I wish I had more space (and money) to get all these sets. My personal favorite build has to be the Lego Titanic. Takes up a lot of space and is very expensive, but watching it slowly come together was great . The box it came in I could use as a night stand its that big.

The NES is still the best Nintendo Lego set in my opinion. Such a fun build.

I loved both. But I would be lying if I said I didn't prefer Three Houses by a country mile. I found both to have solid, fun gameplay (Engages was better I admit), but Three Houses story, characters and WORLD were just so much better. There's a reason people still have debates over the lore and character dynamics of 3 Houses vs Engage.

When this was announced, I hadn't even graduated High School yet. Now I have a college degree and a steady salary. I have never been more ready and it looks amazing.

@Jireland92 Id say since 2013 with the Tomb Raider reboot. That and Rise's focus on survival and stealth over action and tomb exploration cemented modern Lara with the bow and arrow imagery.

Super Paper Mario remake when.

I would 100% play a Fire Emblem games that was basically a dating sim VN Im not going to lie. However my ideal Fire Emblem would be a combination between the story/character writing and social elements of Three Houses and the gameplay of Engage.

I suppose I should mention Three Houses was my first Fire Emblem, I then played Engage and went back to play Awakening and Fates. Three Houses absolutely destroys all of them in world building and character writing, not even Awakening gets close to matching it. Engage's story coming right after it was a major let down and the character writing wasn't nearly as strong (The Fell Xenologue was really fun though). That's not to say I hated it, there are characters in Engage I do like, but none as much as 3H. That said, the gameplay was SUPER fun and the main reason I stuck around to beat both it and the DLC.

@Shredderlovespizza I mean, the message is entirely the point. They clearly don't care about getting the money. Nintendo is saying "Don't want to be in debt for life? Don't facilitate the piracy of our games."

It's MAGES, so its going to have high quality art and CGs with some decent humor. Not my personal cup of tea though as I haven't seen the anime nor read the manga.

If they DID make Zelda a playable character, I want them to go the Samus Aran route, don't focus on her being a playable female character in the narrative, just a character kicking butt who also happens to be female. If there is any narrative focus on her, have it about her being the princess of a dying kingdom.

Side note: You all want a mainline game with a playable Zelda, I want a mainline game with a playable Linkle. We are not the same.

This seems to be a slightly worse version of Ultimate NES Remix on 3DS....but man if Im not a sucker for these types of games.

Played most of these as part of Rare Replay on Xbox. These are all very fun games.

Now it just needs the anime adaptation!

@-wc- to get the Captain Oliver trophy you need pikmin save file data on your memory card. To be be fair, thats not the only reason melee is at 5, but I didn't feel like typing out detailed reasons for each placement so I made half-jokey ones.
