Re: Nintendo Suggests Metroid Prime 4's Tortured Development Meant It Was "Divorced From The Changing Of Times"

Alckemy

IMO the biggest flaws of the game can be patched out. Increase the overall bike speed, lower the collection of crystal requirement and/pr add one more (specific) upgrade. add fast travel points between locations once you’ve completed the area, add mini games both on bike and off bike throughout the desert to help it from being so barren. Hell even spread out more lore statues.

Edit* forgot to say increase the hot box radius of the crystals. There’s been so many times I’d drive through them and have tiny speckles left behind that I had to turn around and crash into

Also, this one won’t happen but ffs stop with the ammo outside of missiles and power bombs.

@squiddu-real I can’t help but feel like you’re missing the point. There’s no invalidation about how you feel- there’s just nothing we can Do at this point in development and there’s still so much of the game we don’t know of. I’m Not sure how this turned into something personal but it’s not meant to be. It almost sounds like we’re in agreement with your last sentence

Re: Preview: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Is Great, But I Want To Kill One Of Its Characters

@squiddu-real playing devils advocate on the internet is like trying to start a fist fight with sneakers on ice. Right, wrong, whatever isn’t really behind my sentiment but more of “it’s going to lead nowhere”

There was a time, recently when silent hill 2 remake was in early development and people were speaking out for change from changing some of the characters to more accurately depict their role in the original story. This was great!

But we’re just learning about this uh, unwelcome feature weeks before release. They’re not going to make any alterations given the launch window and how integral the characters are in the narrative.

We still know so little about what is going to be in this, and that was why I felt compelled to comment. I don’t like companions. Don’t want them in Metroid. Like ever unless it was a scenario with the baby Metroid as a non talking npc. I’m still going to try to play this game and enjoy whatever I can since it has a lot of positives from the trailers. Metroid fusion and prime 3 had lots of dialogue and interactivity of random characters and it was fine

People complaining about people complaining is as hypocritical as me complaining about people complaining about people who complain.

It’s an opinion article. It’s okay not to like something especially if there’s a good reason. Your unrealistic expectation is thinking you’re going to get the entire internet to agree with you. I don’t like the companion, I’m still going to play the game and heaven forbid turn the voice acting off.

Maybe if there’s a bike involved it’ll mean there are side dungeons and a way larger scope game than previous entries. Like it’s not all bad to be bad for the sake of being bad. Let’s complain after we get the game.

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Finally Gets A Release Date, Open World Confirmed

Alckemy

They will let you pilot a ghost pirate cucumber before letting you fly samus’ ship lol.

I don’t know how I feel about the open world travel thing but hopefully it at least means we’re in for a large game. Bike combat and platform challenges are also welcome.

Side note wouldn’t be surprised if we see this bike in mk world in the future

Re: Hardware Review (In Progress): Nintendo Switch 2 - A Faster, Slicker, Sexier Switch

Alckemy

Something that bothers me that I haven’t seen anyone mention is the lack of any capture settings. Why is it locked to 30 fps and 30 seconds? We still can’t stream directly to platforms either where even the ps4 could perform the task.

The console is great spec wise, I’m more annoyed with the company being over a decade behind social features since the Wii U.

Bring back miiverse, let me stream to YouTube while docked.

Re: Review In Progress: Mario Kart World (Switch 2) - The Perfect Introduction To A New Console Generation?

Alckemy

Biggest pluses for me are knockout tour and the soundtrack.

I don’t like that if I get pushed into an oncoming vehicle it starts literally pushing me backward until I moved out of the way. Thats a serious annoyance in knockout tour.

The jump mechanic is kind of iffy. Might be a hot take but I’d like the time to ready a jump to be a little less than it is now.

Most of the tracks are actually bangers- wario shipyard being my favorite from mk 7.

I would have liked the item pool to also be more diverse as getting hit by anything is extremely punishing (feels more than mk8d)

Online worked great so far. Have not used game chat and probably won’t as I don’t want to be constantly recorded.

The soundtrack is so pleasant. I was really hesitant when I heard the trailer music as I’m not about that roadhouse bad to the bone style. That being said I was really surprised to hear they at least had one liquid dnb tune on the roster and the remixes are awesome to listen to.

I do NOT think this game is worth 80 dollars and I don’t know if I like it better than 8d. The open world doesn’t have enough interesting things about it imo and is a missed opportunity to incorporate battle mechanics, bosses, etc.

Re: Nintendo Shares More Artwork Of Diddy Kong's Brand New Design

Alckemy

@N00BiSH I’m not even going to front if Dave wise is doing the next 2d donkey Kong I’ll shut up.

I don’t know if I agree though, even country’s first game had a very grim demeanor to it that rode that line of being goofy af to taking the ice caps and mine cart rides hella serious.

Dk64 kind of put that in the grave and was only brought back a bit with tropical freeze.

I know it sounds so stupid, because these are kids games but they used to pull this vibe I’m talking about off so well with the music and visual aesthetic.

Just my opinions.

Re: Nintendo Shares More Artwork Of Diddy Kong's Brand New Design

Alckemy

Can tell I’m in the minority here but I’m not a fan of dk’s new design.

It hints at the tone Nintendo is setting for dk and I can’t help but desire the darker vibe we got from dkc2.

Slightly tangential but something that actually halted my playthrough of Mario n Luigi brother ship was how happy every single song was. I felt like it was Disney game with zero sense of urgency or high stakes.

Re: Soapbox: The Next Pokémon Game Should Rework Old Critters, Not Just Add Dozens More

Alckemy

Most recent games since sun n moon have reworks of older pokemon,

Personally what I’d like is the entire dex with side quest storylines for most if not all of the legendary creatures. Make them matter. I’m also personally tired of the latest games having like, zero conflict in their games. Even the serious fights are all happy go lucky with the children ensemble at battle turning points.

The older games themes were hella dramatic. Like even the main battle music from blue and red was like oh snap this rattata is a threat

Re: New Sonic X Shadow Generations Trailer Showcases Shadow's Doom Powers

Alckemy

Hey @nintendolife, in America on iOS your site keeps reloading, I’ve lost my comment several times now. Pls fix.

Relative to topic, happy to see shadow, not excited about 3 auto scrollers with surfing flying and the morph thingy.

Would prefer to play similar to sonic but maybe with a few interactive gimmicks instead of scripted sections.

Generations Esq Sonic is pretty peak for 3d era though. Looking forward to seeing what all is included in the revamp

Re: Soapbox: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Won't Be The Franchise's 'BOTW Moment', And That's Okay

Alckemy

To be clear, Metroid prime was Zelda’s “ocarina of time,” not breath of the wild.

That being said, I’m totally fine with them staying true to what makes the prime games what they were.

Did you really expect the graphics to be jaw dropping on a 10 year old game?

Can we just be happy we’re finally getting it? Metroid games come out like… every 5-10 years if we’re lucky.

Re: Talking Point: Should 'Third' Pokémon Games Make A Comeback?

Alckemy

A third game is just rebuying the first game with a bit of dlc.

What I want instead is some love put into the game where they have more stuff to do post game like black 2 and white 2. I love pokemon but they have really lost what made pokemon so special lately.

I’ll exclude arceus as I haven’t played and I plan on it at some point

Re: Nintendo's 330M+ User Accounts Will Be Foundation Of "Lasting Relationship With Consumers"

Alckemy

you think they’ll actually let us have some kind of online interaction and chat in game via the system instead of only in a lobby on a phone app that no one uses?…

just get on discord they said. then xbox actually integrated discord into their online social platform.

I’m all about protecting kids, but I don’t think you’re protecting anyone at this point and technological age. you’re just making your long time customers annoyed.
