Re: Sledgehammer Games Has a Definitive Answer on Call of Duty: WWII for Nintendo Switch - "No"

@SLIGEACH_EIRE "Massive blow". To what? Is the PS4's lack of portability a massive blow to its chances of success? Is the lack of Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey etc al a massive blow to the PC gaming community? No. Because different systems provide different experiences with success.

No one expected WWII to come to Switch. The system is not selling out everywhere because everyone's waiting to have COD LAN parties later in the year. It's not built for Switch, everyone knows it; and they'll either play it on another system, or play Mario Odyssey instead.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE It gives the Switch additional functionality, making it a more versatile and thus desirable piece of hardware, which translates to potentially more sales.

Clearly Nintendo will want to balance this against the fact that people will be less likely to purchase certain content from the eShop, but overall it's a win-win for Switch + PC owners and probably Nintendo.

I don't see why there's such an obsession with the brevity of the presentation. Breath of the Wild was hyped through letting people play the game and talk about it on the internet, not through dry, pre-recorded video presentations. And that turned out okay.

Re: Bulb Boy is Bringing Surreal Horror to the Switch eShop This Summer

Originally released in 2015; currently £5.99 on Steam. Blurb:

"Bulb Boy is an intuitive 2D point & click horror adventure about a boy with a glowing head (alright, it's a bulb...) inspired by Machinarium and Gobliiins. Solve puzzles, defeat wicked monsters and reveal bulby's abilities to unfold a twisted tale."

Review consensus suggests it's good, but somewhat short.
