Re: Talking Point: Is Nintendo Switch Online Good Value Compared To PlayStation Plus And Xbox Live Gold?

Imagine if Nintendo had simply released all the NES and SNES games as individual, purchasable items on Switch - there'd by uproar from people complaining they have to buy the same games yet again. If Nintendo had thought ahead, they could have allowed people to carry their purchases over from Wii U, thus potentially increasing sales of that console and its legacy software prior to Switch's release. But we all know Switch was expedited due to the failure of the Wii U, so that was never going to happen. Instead they were forced to do the only thing they could do: put their legacy games into a subscription service. This was the fairest way they could bring that content to Switch owners (may of whom are ex-Wii U owners). The only disappointment has been the lack of releases - there should be two or three new games per month - but overall, £1.50 per month for a decent bunch of retro games (plus cloud saves, online play and Tetris 99) really isn't that bad.

@GameOtaku I have Sonic 3 & Knuckles on the PC version of the collection. And the collection has 50% more games for a third of the price.

I'm not saying people shouldn't go for this if the emulation is especially good, I'm just suggesting that buying the much larger collection on PC plus two USB pads would still be cheaper than this piece of hardware.
