I remember finishing Metroid Dread, going back into the menu, and immediately restarting on the higher difficulty. The thought of ever playing MP4 again just fills me with… well, dread.
@FawfulsFury Except he did elaborate, clearly. He said it was a great place to work but - because of imposter syndrome or otherwise - he didn't feel he was at the same level as his peers.
Y'all are so baffled and shocked by this, but you know nothing about it - and imagine your shock when it turns out to be kinda cool and innovative and a best-selling family game. Nintendo is clueless in some areas, but it knows what it's doing when it comes to this stuff.
@Mortenb I don't think Nintendo doing this has anything to do with a traditional framework of procreation. They're just providing equal benefits for gay employees.
There isn't really an incentive for Nintendo to encourage physical sales and do a deal to get all three games on one cart. They'll get a better cut on the eshop and they have more control over the pricing.
I don't see what folks were expecting. We're talking about a kids' film, so of course they'll lean on experienced directors of kids' animation. It's not like you'd want them to sign up Denis Villeneuve to make a Mario movie.
Completely echo the sentiments of this article. I don't really see how anyone could argue against it. I mean, if Dark Souls had an Easy mode, those looking for a serious challenge could still play and enjoy it on harder difficulties.
Accolades won't change my mind about a game I've played and not enjoyed. The battle system sucks, pure and simple. And I'm not some Paper Mario aficionado - Color Splash is the only other one I've played and I loved that.
Anyone saying 2020 didn't own a Wii U, or are wilfully kidding themselves. There were months - years - of absolute desolation during that console's life. And that's coming from someone who loved the Wii U.
@BlackKnight93 Why is it awful to be a Nintendo fan? If you enjoy the games arriving on Switch then what's the problem? TLOU2 will be a big release, but it's not going to be for for everyone, just like 51 Worldwide Classics or Xenoblade aren't for everyone. You're overthinking things and creating a conflict where there isn't one.
The banjo cover is pleasingly insane... but I would look the other way if I were looking for something to buy/rent. I like the Japanese cover because it's reminiscent of classic Atari artwork.
Mana Spark is a good game, worth its perennially low price, but it's a terrible port. The frame rate after the first few levels is shocking, almost Sexy Brutale bad.
There is no "win" for Nintendo hereon. As long as the case remains live, it just draws (deserved) attention to a problem that thousands, if not millions, are already experiencing; and it potentially dissuades new customers. The only way they can "win" is if they fix the problem for good, and consign the whole debacle to history.
@danemord It's okay... it gets progressively harder, but I found that was mostly due to the spongy controls. The overworld stuff is just tedious. Overall I'd wait until it's cheaper still.
@fatleon5 Cute, isometric strategy games where you're basically using a horde of little creatures to navigate an alien landscape (which looks like an oversized garden) to gather parts of your spaceship so you can escape. Kind of unique, and a lot of fun.
@DeusX Solid predictions, although I think there'll be Galaxy 1 & 2 (possibly with a SM64 remaster?) in a single pack and an SM3DW remaster sold separately.
It's not a patch on Mother Russia Bleeds, but it's a really solid, polished and enjoyable brawler. I think much of its appeal (i.e. 4-player couch co-op) is limited by the lockdown. It might not be for everyone due to its brevity - maybe check it out on Game Pass before buying.
I love the fact that he makes so many dark, twisted horror movies these days... and then plays something as wholesome as Animal Crossing in his spare time.
@Dragonslacker1 I tried the free Stadia trial and it was impressive... until I saw the business model. There's definitely a future in streaming but it will have to be a Netflix/Prime style service where you pay a subscription and get a whole **** ton of content. Because it isn't the tech that killed Stadia, it's the value (or lack thereof).
@Moroboshi876 I see your point, but put yourself in the shoes of the majority of Switch owners, who never had a Wii U and never had a chance to play the game. It's still amazing and if they chuck in some enhancements and extra levels I'd argue it's absolutely worth full price. Let's say the original sold 10 million - they can sell double that just to people who've never played it, let alone double dippers.
@Moroboshi876 Why sad? More people get to play great games. Releasing the game on Switch doesn't delete the game from Wii U!
I would personally love to see SM3DW on Switch. It's my absolute favourite Mario game. Odyssey is an amazing playground, but the laser-focused game design in 3D World is something else.
@Folderoll Exactly, it often has deep discounts on PC and console.
I already got the GOTY version on PC for like 13 quid, but I still bought the Switch version for £35. It really gives the game a new lease of life, and the cross-save system is straightforward.
I feel that Witcher 3 was kind of the upper limit for what's possible in terms of balancing visuals with gameplay. It's a pretty grisly docked game, but astonishing in handheld. I think it would be a tough ask for PS5/XSX games to be ported, and still play okay.
Detailed enough to be plausible yet vague enough to be able to say "told you so!" when it isn't quite accurate... yep, looks like BS rumour-mongering to me.
No one wants the same map but smeared with miasma. It seems highly unlikely that Nintendo would imagine this would be fun, given the openness and sense of wonder in the predecessor. It's more likely BOTW2 will be a Majora's Mask affair, with a new environment which reuses certain assets (to save development time), and a wholly different tone.

Re: Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Switch Frame Rate, Resolution & Accessibility Revealed
The original PoP was possibly the first game I ever beat, back on the Amiga. I'm getting Ori and Strider vibes from this. Very excited.

@Mortenb Legally recognising partnerships
Re: Nintendo Formally Acknowledges Same-Sex Marriage, Despite Japanese Law
@sanderev It's the opposite of special rules - it's taking a previously special set of rules and equalising them with the rules for the majority.

@Thatsalie Go back and play the originals. This is not a demaster.

Re: Reminder: QubicGames' Switch Sale Ends Today - 17 Games Discounted To Just $0.17
Mana Spark became unplayable for me once there were more than 3 enemies on the screen. It's another lazy port of a decent game.
Re: BioWare's Project Director Would "Love" To See The Mass Effect Legendary Edition On Nintendo Switch
They managed to weave a path through Switch and Series X, the consoles I own, without making a version for either. Darn it!
Re: Zelda-Esque Oceanhorn 2 Brings Its "Epic" Open-World Adventure To Switch This Month
It got fairly middling reviews on Apple Arcade, although it does look quite charming. One for a sale, perhaps.

The NA one is a mess. It's ramshackle in its spacing and the text is partially obscured by the background.

I thought Pikmin 4 was "ready" ages ago? Unless they're releasing 3 in the summer and then 4 at Christmas, I guess.

Re: Nintendo President Says More Switch Games Are Scheduled For Current Period
@awaltzforvenus In the case of Sony and Microsoft, I think that's more because they have new SKUs releasing this year.
But I don't see it as a problem for Nintendo because third parties are filling the void and Nintendo always do just enough to keep us hooked.
