A little while ago we shared the news that Implosion: Never Lose Hope was confirmed for the Switch eShop in Japan. Seemingly shortened now to just Implosion, the mech-based sci-fi hack and slash game's transition from smart devices to Nintendo's system is nearly complete.
Out in Japan shortly, a listing on the European eShop shows that the Flyhigh Works-published title (the studio that brought us Kamiko) is also heading to the region on 5th July, priced at £10.79 in the UK store. You can see a flashy cinematic trailer below that aims to emphasize the production values that were previously highlighted as a big plus for the game.
Rayark - the game's developer - boasts that it contains "console-quality graphics, first-class voice acting and Hollywood-grade audio production", and includes "full orchestral scores masterfully mixed by Grammy Award winner and The Lord of the Rings trilogy engineer, John Kurlander." You can see a couple of screens below.

We'll keep an eye out for a North American release date; are you tempted by this one?

I do want this, as soon as it comes to NA that is.
I was interested in this one ever since it popped up in the Japanese eShop coming soon section. There's a few eShop games I'm keen for this week.
I'll be waiting for the review. It seems like a cool game!
This game looks good. I am excited to see how it reviews and might not even wait for that.
@zionich I'll wait, because I want to know how controls work. It was originally a mobile title.
@crackafreeze But by the review averages it is a top tier mobile game that should sit right at home on consoles. I suppose the biggest thing they could mess up would be the smoothness of the controls which in this type of game is a no no.
I will be buying this game on Day 1, Wednesday for some bizarre reason.
Mobile port is very off putting so I'll wait and see. It looks promising enough to ask about physical. But...mobile...
If the switch needs to have a hack n' slash and sci fi game it sould be Warframe. It' a massive online muliplayer game with millions of players and yet no one seems to know it. It's on both X Box and PS4 and personally it's the only free to play game that I think it's worth it.
Being a mobile port and a "too good to be true" feel is holding me back from diving in without waiting from a review. Hope reviews appear before release unless the decide on an embargo.
1. I like the concept.
2. Cool trailer.
3. You mispelled Humanity's in the trailer, unless that exosuit was built by a college's humanities dept.
4. Gameplay footage will determine for me if this is actually a good game.
"Humanities last stand." Whoops.
I downloaded this on my galaxy note 3 and it played very and the game was great to play even on a smartphone. So I can imagine the switch version will be much much better
@Alikan check out the android version on youtube.
I'm going to wait for reviews. I already have the game on iOS, it's not bad, but £10 for a mobile port makes me raise an eyebrow. Not helped by the fact their Switch trailer there has No in-game footage and that those screenshots look worrying identical to the iOS graphics.
Personally, I wouldn't want to double dip unless the Switch one has something extra or some solid benefit, other than having actual physical controls instead of "virtual thumbsticks".
@crackafreeze but lots of mobile games are decent with terrible touchscreen controls. So this is hope for this and others that switch is going to get.
@A01 That's what I meant with my comment. The physical controls SHOULD improve the game immensely BUT if they aren't precise enough this game will fall flat on its face. The controls need to be tight and not floaty.
Looks like a fun and with pretty well done game... love the art and the 2d animations in android... i hope there´s soms improvements for the switch version, like camera rotation or things like that... but this game is a must for me... now lets see how much it will cost...
I'll um...wait and see what the actual game looks like thanks
Couldn't care less whether this has come from mobile, it looks very good.
Hopefully it does well and we'll see more games come over that can be improved by having proper controls. Should be easy to convert.
@Mr64 Unfortunately, your imagination may be overshooting, as other than controls, it doesn't look like they're changing very much judging from the screenshots in the eShop, which look like the mobile graphics, just really sharp, possibly, which may just draw more attention to its mobile origins. It's also a couple years old at this point.
Personally I'm hoping for more improvements than just physical controls for that price.
The price on iOS is also a tenner I believe, but it has been on sale for a fifth of that in the past.
@MrProzacc I don't think camera rotation is as simple as you imagine. The game was probably made to be viewed from a single angle. They wouldn't have put the time and effort into making the game environments look good from every, or even 'any other', angle. So camera rotation would require all the game's environments to be entirely overhauled to look good from more angles.
It's got my attention
No North American release? Any idea when? Is it even confirmed?
I really hope NA is as well. There's very little like this available yet
We're getting a load of little titles next week on the UK eshop. Which is pretty great - what makes it even better is they're not all crappy-looking titles. I can get used to this, though I know I really shouldn't just yet.
It looks good, but will the gameplay hold up to the same standards as the presentation?
Color me interested.
Yes please! I tried this on a tablet and felt it would be an easy buy with physical controls. Hoping this isn't another case of EU exclusivity though...what a beautiful July 4th present that would be
@Mando44646 @BraveFencerZan @Yasaal @BezBot
Just buy it off the EU store if it isn't out in the US
Looks cool, may check it out as soon as I get more info on it first.
Doesn't look like "console-quality graphics" based on those screens, unless that's from the mobile version, and that they plan to up the ante with the Switch version.
I have this on iOS and it is truly top tier. Looks and sounds great, with butter-smooth controls even on a touchscreen. Seriously, don't turn your nose up at this just because of its origins. It's like a Korean sci-fi Devil May Cry. It's well worth a tenner.
Look good will be getting this one for sure!
It's a smartphone game.
now this is on my list for sure.
hack n slash games are manly.
and im manly.
@electrolite77 Kind of is a lot of work to do that and then what if I want games that come out in U.S.? It would just be so much easier if it would come out in U.S. for everybody
This has controller support on mobile and it plays well, I'm sure it was about 7.99 when it first came out.
Well, these guys certainly aren't shy about beating their own chests, but I'll keep an open mind and see how it turns out when it eventually arrives. It looks decent enough, so let's give them a fair chance.
@BezBot
It's not a lot of work. You just have a separate account on the Switch for each region you want. Once you've downloaded a game, any account can play it. You can download games from any region at any time using the right account. It's completely region-free and really, really easy.

Oh, this looks good me thinks im gonna pick this up on the Eshop.
Very excited for this game! Definitely day one purchase.
@Pigeon youtube gameplay footage
what kind of game is it?
anyone know?
@electrolite77 Huh I remember seeing that you needed to enable tons of weird stuff and all that early on but if it's that easy I'll do that right now. Thanks for telling me!
Looks pretty good to me. As long as they take advantage of some Switch features, like HD Rumble, I will be good.
The game looks decently fun but the graphics in the trailer are really missleading. The actual game doesn't even look close to that good.
Looks great
Once again the trailer doesn't show gameplay, just a load of video, so not impressed
@electrolite77 ehh, it's cool that people could use that but I'm not paying UK prices (10BP is about $14). Also don't like that I have to make different profiles for other regions.
In typical mobile game fashion, it's impossible to tell whether or not anything we see in the trailer is actual in-game footage.
I dig the power-suit design, though. It's Metroid Prime levels of impossible for a regularly shaped person to actually fit inside, and I enjoy that kind of abstraction.
"Humanities last hope"?
Amateur.
Was so hyped when i saw the trailer, but then when gameplay came on, you could see just how much it oozes of "smartphone-game". Not saying all smartphone games are bad, im saying they should stick to smartphones.
I'm sorry, it's just impossible for me to take a game seriously when they have a typo of that magnitude in the tagline. It just screams amateur hour. You may have Hollywood-grade audio production, but not even Bollywood-grade copy editing.
Somehow it just made sense when I found out afterwards that it's a mobile game.
Mildly interest.
Looks good. I would've liked to see some gameplay though.
@JasmineDragon Which tagline are you talking about? "Never Lose Hope"? Where is the typo in that? Or are you talking about something else?
@Pod To be fair, cinematic trailers with no actual gameplay footage are very common for console and PC games too, so I wouldn't read anything into that.
@ChessboardMan it played fairly decent on my android, they had a demo where the first 6 levels where free and then £9.49 after that. Even if they didn't upgrade the visual aspect I still think it's pretty cool game
@bilboa "Humanities Last Stand"
@JasmineDragon Ah thanks, missed that.
In any case, I've played this on an iPad, and thought it was pretty good. Unlike some mobile games, the gameplay didn't feel dumbed down too much for touch controls. The mobile version supports bluetooth controllers, and in fact plays much better with a controller than touch controls. It doesn't have quite the production values or depth of a AAA console game, but I think it would be considered a good indie game on any platform. I wouldn't read too much into the typo, other than that the company probably didn't hire a native English speaker to check the English version of trailer, which is par for the course for an indie game made by a Taiwanese developer.
Nice trailer, can't wait to know more about the game. I see I'm far from the first to notice the misspelling of "humanity's" during the trailer
@electrolite77 Honestly being a lazy person, making a new account with EU details is a pain in the ass. I'll just wait for an official release for NA then XD
