@justin233 It's included in your Amazon Prime subscription. You log into the Twitch website and link your account to Amazon. Download the Twitch app to your computer. On the website there's a little crown icon - this will take you to the Prime Loot page, where you simply claim any offers you want. This is where you'll find the icon for the free Nintendo Online. You'll also find a ton of extra content for various online games (doesn't interest me personally) plus every month you get like 4 or 5 free indie games (which interests me greatly). All for the price of an Amazon Prime subscription, so not bad!

They might as well rename themselves But It Now Button, that's how awesome their reputation is with Switch owners.

@321gofast Maybe I just got a "bad" 3DS but the battery seems to last no longer than the Switch, especially when you consider the demands of the games on the respective systems.

Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft (and now Epic on PC) have realised that content is what matters. All Google have done is advertised a concept, and it's a concept that has failed or flatlined multiple times in the past.

This coincides with liquidating my physical collection and going all-digital, so that's a real bonus.

If all that comes out of this rumour mill is a port of Ori then that's a massive win. It's one of my favourite metroidvanias.

Really fun game. Rather brief, but the movement feels great and it's utterly beautiful. Plus there is exploration value after the main story. It'll be interesting to see how it runs on Switch.

I think the issue is that no one has come up with a plausible alternative that fits the description of what Nintendo is supposedly resurrecting. There may be no actual evidence, but given Nintendo's recent history with Platinum, Scalebound still doesn't seem like a crazy possibility.

This game is currently free with Twitch Prime (which you have if you subscribe to Amazon Prime), so you can try it out before buying.

It's very reminiscent of the old Dizzy games, with the simple yet obscure puzzles, the bonkers movement physics, and the mini open world. But that also means the gameplay is quite limited.

Banning an ad based on an automatic algorithm isn't ridiculous. What would be ridiculous is if Facebook didn't reconsider after Devolver's appeal.

To "boss up" means to raise your game and act like a leader, so presumably this means he's going to give it another crack in 2019. Maybe they'd let him re-release the Virtual Boy?

I'm glad it's doing well, because it is unique. But I would say it's not for everyone; more of an "experience" than a regular game.

There are two of these cabinets in Cardiff. I really need to give it a go sometime.

@Triforce79 That's not really true, although being a PC gamer does require the user to be more 'involved' to get the best out of games. Overall it's a cheaper yet less simple alternative to consoles.

I played through a review code of this today. It's a pleasant game. Consistently fun and very gentle. The lack of conflict is sometimes laughable - for example, escaping one "boss" is entirely automatic - but the puzzles are clever. Also, it must be the first time in gaming history where the underwater sections are the best levels.

It's not a breakout indie classic on the level of Celeste, but it's an enjoyable way to spend three hours (I started at 6pm; finished around 9:30 with a break for food). It's also utterly gorgeous - get your thumb ready on the screenshot button. The music is agonisingly twee at times.

Overall, 6.5/10.

I tried the demo and bounced straight off it because I couldn't work out the controls at all.

"Loot grind" is just another way of saying "unlocking stuff", which I love. I don't believe we'll actually have to grind in the mobile gaming sense.

I suspect that the compilation is real but the platforms haven't been announced yet, so there's a placeholder for all of them.

Surely it's because Musk himself is such a divisive figure. Nintendo would be partnering with someone very outspoken and sometimes controversial. It's not really their style.

Oof! This is one of my favourite street brawlers. Fantastic fun with friends, and hilariously grim. Love it.

It was inevitable that this would be the next remaster, and I hope they keep the unique motion controls.

As long as Nintendo continue offering substantial DLC and free small updates, I'm happy with this model.

@Anguspuss It runs perfectly. I haven't encountered any glitches. It was probably the same for the reviewer, which is why nothing was mentioned.

I haven't noticed any framerate issues with this game, although I think this is to do with my inability to get any further than the Ramparts level more than anything.

The headline sounds outrageous, but when you think about it, when would you play in pure handheld mode? It would have to be the single-player content, and only the mini-games with regular controls, which rules out pretty much everything.

So before the pitchforks come out, consider whether this is actually the scandal the headline suggests.

Whatever I do, I cannot add my address when attempting to buy these. Bang goes another sale, I guess.

A cursory thought about how using them for auto-renewal could possibly work should negate any complaints about that.

This is good news. It basically brings my yearly subscription to a tenner, which is a bit of a bargain.

This has less to do with PlayStation's dominance and more to do with Nintendo's relative irrelevance in the UK. At the time that Nintendo cemented their place in the public consciousness between the mid-1980s and mid-1990s with the NES and SNES, in the UK the home computer reigned supreme (plus the MegaDrive outsold the SNES 2:1). So really it wasn't until the Wii/DS era that the big numbers started shifting for Nintendo in the UK.

@Notshane The text implies you can save your NES saves locally: "if you keep the Nintendo Entertainment System – Nintendo Switch Online save data saved locally on your Nintendo Switch console, then you can use it again if you purchase another membership."

I've seen this news doing the rounds, and I'm surprised by the sense of surprise. Cloud saves are part of the paid service, so I wasn't expecting them to be available if I'm not paying. It would be nice to have a grace period (like PS+), but the chances of my Switch breaking at exactly the moment I forget to renew my subscription seems vanishingly small.

Edit: Also, "you must sacrifice those saves" is a bit disingenuous. You just sacrifice the backup of those saves until you resubscribe.

I can see this becoming a future favourite with collectors...

Great game! I don't 'do' the mainline FF games, but I'll definitely pick this up.

@Krull It's a completely different setting and tone. I personally bounced off Stardew pretty quickly because of these factors, but I love the mood, atmosphere and dark humour of GK.

An appalling game, which is also unfinished many months after release, and staggeringly bereft of content.

The trick is to make the online service something people want to pay for, not something they need to pay for. It makes the whole thing a lot more palatable.

Investors know approximately as much as analysts, that's what I've learned.
