Re: It's Official, Switch 2 Has Sold Over 3.5 Million Units Globally In Its First Four Days

@Anti-Matter I just wanted to say there's no need to defend your opinion. Your perspective matters, and it’s completely okay to express fair criticism or even praise for a competitor. I know it can be tough when passionate fans push back, but please don’t let that discourage you. You’re not doing anything wrong—your voice is valid, and it deserves to be heard just as much. Anyone that doesn't like it, can simply hit the "ignore" button.

Re: Video: Diddy Kong, Tunes & Vines - Here's Everything We Want From Donkey Kong Bananza

Kremlings would’ve been great, but it’s clear by now that it’s not going to happen. Very strange that in most of their series they stick to the beloved and familiar faces, but with DK, they insist on using new disposable enemies every time.

For Bananza, I just hope it’s going to feel more like a real Donkey Kong game. Right now it looks like they came up with the demolition gimmick and just stuck a random IP on it…

Re: Yooka-Laylee Dev Playtonic Is The Latest Studio Hit By Layoffs

8bit-Man

While the original Yooka-Laylee was a fun title, it wasn't a widespread hit, so choosing to focus on a remake feels like a strange move. Besides, considering it was released only eight years ago, it's a bit soon for a remake to really capture my interest.

Still sad to hear news like this of course.

Re: Random: Miyamoto Can't Talk About Switch 2, Talks About Switch 2 Anyway

@montrayjak

I agree with your POV. It's not really the "big", next thing, it's more of an upgrade. But this is the cycle they usually go through. They tend to follow up an innovative machine by a stronger, more refined version.

@larryisaman
Nintendo has a strong history of follow-up systems with original and effective names. Sure, the "Wii U" may have missed the mark, but titles like the "Super Nintendo," "Game Boy Advance," and "3DS" were clear, distinctive, and resonated well with audiences—none of them felt misleading or caused confusion. I don't see why the situation would be any different for the Switch family?

To me, the move toward a more iterative naming approach feels like a reflection of current industry trends—perhaps a sign of the times. For better or worse, Nintendo appears to be evolving with those expectations. This shift is also evident in the hardware itself, which features a design that feels much more modern and "mature" compared to their previous systems.

Re: Here's A Look At The Back Of Mario Kart World's Switch 2 Box Art

@GrailUK True, no one knows anything for certain — we’re all just speculating, and the future is never set in stone.

But we can consider this: Mario Kart is $30 cheaper when bundled with the Switch 2, and it's safe to assume they're still turning a profit on it that way. In any case, for a game that will probably move millions an millions, I think they could easily afford to include a small piece of paper.

I understand it's not happening ever again though — it's obviously all about maximizing profits. Maybe most people don't even care. Still, it would’ve been a nice gesture, a small way to show some love for the physical format, especially since a lot of people feel like it's a candle burning out. Plus, it could’ve helped justify the higher price tag for a physical copy, because there's been a lot of uproar about that.

Re: Nintendo Defends Switch 2's Perceived Lack Of Innovation

8bit-Man

The hybrid model worked wonders, but to me it’s losing much of its initial appeal with Switch 2. The system is really big, and the battery life is quite poor, so the portability aspect will be heavily compromised. Besides that, the game cards are a horrible medium for today’s games.
