Re: Splatoon 3 'Drizzle Season' Update Revealed - New Weapons, Stages, Gear And More

vio

@Otoemetry Yeah I know. It's extremely disappointing. The belief was they were rotating each season. New or returning stage and a new King Salmonid, but now sadly it appears that is not the case. Unless there is still a new King coming and they're just keeping him in secrecy for the upcoming Big Run. Possible at least.. Also, aren't some of those weird Salmon Run locker stickers supposed to be some of the new Kings? Surely there's going to be more than just Coho and boros..

Re: After 5 Months, Mario Kart 8 And Splatoon Are Finally Going Back Online For Wii U

vio

I didn't even know they had been offline this whole time LOL. I spent countless hours playing MK 8 and Splatoon on my Wii U, makes me slightly nostalgic. However, unless you're someone who is obsessed with firehopping, I can't see any reason to play the original MK 8. It's just so lacking in content compared to Deluxe. I do miss some of those stages(come back salt spray rig!) and the music from Splatoon, but still, 3 is vastly superior in almost every regard and Splatoon 1 doesn't even have my beloved Salmon Run, so really no desire to play it now.

Re: Takaya Imamura: F-Zero Hasn't Been Revived Because Mario Kart Is Nintendo's "Most Popular Racing Game"

vio

Give me a break.. It doesn't need any "grand new idea." It's an anti-gravity racer. You give it beautiful modern HD graphics, great courses and some great music. Give it some well designed online racing like Mario Kart 8 and you're good to go. Also, Mario Kart and F-Zero co-existed just fine for years. Both series made their debut on the SNES and continued on together on the various home consoles and handhelds, no prob. It wasn't until the Wii era that Nintendo decided for no good reason to just suddenly abandon F-Zero. Get bent with this nonsense Nintendo.

Re: Nintendo "Currently Have No Specifics To Share" About Other Legacy Platforms For Switch Online

vio

I think pretty much everyone had given up hope of Gamecube coming to NSO by now. This reissue thing is a farce though. Super Mario Sunshine, a couple Pikmin, one Metroid Prime out of a trilogy.. That's nothing. Gamecube had a library of over 600 games. That's not to say that the current NSO offerings aren't lacking either, but they're at least a lot more substantial than that.

Re: Activision CEO Made 'A Bad Judgement' In Not Supporting The Nintendo Switch More

vio

Well at least we now have an official explanation why no CoD ever came to the Switch. I was always dumbfounded that the Wii U managed to get 2 entries while the mega-success Switch did not. Just absolutely absurd. Although his argument is still no excuse. It's understandable to have been skeptical of the Switch at launch, especially when considering the failure of the Wii U that had just occured, but they could have and should have reversed course when they saw the Switch selling like gangbusters week after week, month after month, year after year. Shameful and pathetic Activision. Not that I really even like CoD very much. I just like to play Zombies.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Confirmed For Switch, Launching September

vio

Glad to see, but what an absolutely stupid name. Guess they're taking a page out of Microsoft's playbook. Also, I wonder what happened to that Switch port of the MK trilogy that was announced a few years back? IIRC it was the arcade versions of 1-3. Damn shame as I'm all about that classic MK.

Re: Nintendo Reveals Its Next Switch Online Game Trial (Europe)

vio

@rockodoodle Actually it's technically older than that as this game is an enhanced port of Fast Racing Neo for the Wii U which came out in 2015, but who cares? Mario Kart 8 is even older and still going strong. This is still a great racer and porbably the closest we're going to get to a F-Zero for the Switch.

Re: Round Up: Here's What Switch Online Players Think Of GoldenEye 007 So Far

vio

@croz I agree that the boarders suck. I can't believe Nintendo still hasn't made it possible to disable them. Like why do they insist on us having the gray checkerboards on the sides? You do realize though that Goldeneye is the first game to not make you look at the checkerboard since it can be switched to 16:9 widescreen? Which is frankly the ONLY way to play the game.
