@Sisilly_G Wasn't it confirmed that the 64gig carts were a thing? My memory can be a bit hazy, but I remember reading this way back when the Switch launched. Yet here we are nearly 7 years later and not a single 64gig cart has ever appeared. It's like this mysterious thing that only exists in legend and folklore LOL.
@RenanKJ About to be replaced? The gap between 2 and 3 was like 5 years. 4 will definitely be on the Switch's successor and is likely years away. I'm guessing 2026 or 27.
@Corvus96 But this actually verges on being a remake. New HD textures, new character models etc. Like I said, watch the Switch Up review. They include a lot of side by side comparisons with the original N64 version. Nightdive did a ton of work here! I agree the 5th generation graphics have aged poorly, but they have a certain charm to them. I love the highly detailed beautiful HD graphics we have these days as much as anyone, but I still like going back and playing these old "ugly" games I grew up with. You change them too much and you lose the nostalgic factor.
@PKDuckman I do play multiplayer, I'm saying apparently no one else does. I hopped on Turok 2 multiplayer recently BECAUSE I wanted to play some death match and was saddened to see there was no one there anymore. Frankly, isn't Rage Wars the way to go for multiplayer anyway? Being it was made just for multiplayer ala Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament. Let's petition Nightdive to remaster that with online crossplay added.
@Corvus96 Metroid Prime is a remaster though..it's literally called Metroid Prime Remastered. BTW, you might be surprised how extensive this Turok 3 remaster is, it is impressive. Go watch Switch Up's review of it.
@PKDuckman I remember everyone complaining that the Switch Turok 2 remaster omitted the multiplayer so Nightdive rectified it with crossplay to boot and now the servers are a ghost town. Even with crossplay, so what's that tell you? Admit it, if Turok 3 had the multiplayer you would play it a few times and then never touch it again. Good on Nightdive for cutting it out.
@DiamondJim That can't be right. Turok 1 and 2(which are better games) were $20. Unless getting the rights to this one cost them a lot of money and they're passing it down to us..
This is definitely one of the worst reviews I've read on this site, but remember that this review is really just one persons opinion and ultimately doesn't mean jack. If they upload a video version of this review to their YouTube channel, I'm definitely gonna go smack it with a dislike.
@-wc- It was me whom said online OR local multiplayer(thanks for conveniently leaving that part out) is the bread & butter and no, you most definitely reckon wrong because I'm an old man in my 40s whom grew up with the SNES and owned Super Mario Kart when it was a brand new game. How bout you? I stand by my statement. It was all about local multiplayer in the early titles until online came into the picture with DS. Mario Kart is about as much a single player experience as Smash is. Like I said, I would also like more challenging CPU opponents, but not enough to rage about it on a gaming site.
@HalBailman Sure it is ridiculous, but Nintendo is a business and giant corporation whom is all about making money. I mean you could just as easily argure it is ridiculous that we got to play Mario Kart 8 online for free on the Wii U and the first couple years of the Switch and now we're forced to pay for it, but it what it is and I don't see it changing. The bots have been a pushover in every Mario Kart. This isn't something exclusive to 8.
@HalBailman I wouldn't mind some challenge or an option to make to the bots more challenging, but I don't really have any sympathy for someone who refuses to cough up a measily 20 bucks for a year of NSO. I mean Playstation and Xbox are quite a bit more online centric than Switch and have been for years now and the gamers on those consoles lap it up and pay a lot more than $20 for it, but your friends draw the line with Nintendo? Ok.. Frankly I don't think you should even buy MK 8 unless you plan to play online or have frequent local multiplayer with it.
@romanista Nah, the proper term is 'sandbagging', but over time it got shortened to bagging. Either way, it was an incredibly lame and cheap strategy that Nintendo was very wise to nerf. Now if they could just balance the stats so we no longer have an annoying 'meta build' dominating. The Japanese try hards are the absolute worst with this crap! Through out the years I've watched them infest and completely take over online games with these builds. First it was Morton/Blue Falcon in the good ol Wii U game(RIP). Then it was everybody's favorite (LOL) Waluwiggler and now it's Yoshi/Teddy Buggy. I hope they at least do some more balance updates so we aren't now stuck with Yoshi/Teddy Buggy forever.
@HalBailman That's why you race online. The only purpose of racing against the boring bots is to get the trophys or to practice. Online or local mutiplayer is Mario Kart's bread and butter.
@Keman Unless it is not a handheld. Everyone naturally assumes it will be, but that's in no way confirmed yet. Nintendo has been known to throw wild curveballs from time to time.
@Stew Because Bowser Castle 3 was already in Tour, 3DS Bowser Castle was not. They've been doing this since through the entire BCP to reduce the workload in bringing the tracks to MK 8.
@Not_Soos Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. The trees and bushes are still lacking, but everything else is pretty close to the base game. Also it is now a bit jarring going from wave 1(easily the ugliest of the bunch) to these later waves.
@Dr_Corndog Uhm, how so? They're different tracks, just with similar DK jungle theming. Using that logic, wouldn't Rainbow Road be redundant now? There's now going to be 5 Rainbow Roads in the game.
So Konami actually took note of Legends not being included in the Anniversary Collection and rectified that. Well done Konami. Gives me some hope that maybe they'll put Castlevania 64 and/or Legacy of Darkness on NSO.
@SoIDecidedTo Haha. You married the wrong woman. My wife actually got me the first Splatoon for my birthday. I'll never forget when she came into our bedroom and saw me playing it for the first time she said "What is this?!" and she immediately fell in love with it.
Congrats to Team Ghost. I still can't believe Ghost got 63% of the popular vote. PS Zombies are still way cooler and zombie movies are the best LOL. All hail the George Romero classics like Dawn of the Dead and Day of the Dead, the all time comedy horror great The Return of the Living Dead and the Lucio Fulci Italian gore epics Zombie, City of the Living Dead and The Beyond!
yawn Let's get some Perfect Dark and Castlevania 64/Legacy of Darkness action instead. Oh, and where are the Cruis'n games? No reason not to throw the whole N64 trilogy on there since Nintendo owns the publishing rights to them.
@Desrever Don't forget you can go see Murch and have him change the primary abilities on the gear for you. As long as you have enough ability chunks of course.
@Judgedean I don't think it's aged any worse than any other early to mid 90s "boomer shooter." Not to mention this will be like all other Nightdive remasters where it's going to look significantly better than it did 28 years ago while staying true to the original presentation/style.

How sad and pathetic it is that there will likely never be a single game to use the 64gig cart.
Re: Switch Online Is Expanding The N64 Library With Rare's Jet Force Gemini
I noticed in the trailer that like Goldeneye, it is running in widescreen. Very nice.
Re: 'Felix The Cat' Konami Collection Surfaces On The ESRB
@HammerKirby For real.. I thought for sure they would fix that crap with an update, but nope, they couldn't even be bothered.

@Yosher Sadly no, but it was a long shot anyway. Best hope is that it will be in the next Mario Kart and fixed there.
