Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Confirmed For Switch, Launching September

vio

Glad to see, but what an absolutely stupid name. Guess they're taking a page out of Microsoft's playbook. Also, I wonder what happened to that Switch port of the MK trilogy that was announced a few years back? IIRC it was the arcade versions of 1-3. Damn shame as I'm all about that classic MK.

Re: Nintendo Reveals Its Next Switch Online Game Trial (Europe)

@rockodoodle Actually it's technically older than that as this game is an enhanced port of Fast Racing Neo for the Wii U which came out in 2015, but who cares? Mario Kart 8 is even older and still going strong. This is still a great racer and porbably the closest we're going to get to a F-Zero for the Switch.

Re: Round Up: Here's What Switch Online Players Think Of GoldenEye 007 So Far

@croz I agree that the boarders suck. I can't believe Nintendo still hasn't made it possible to disable them. Like why do they insist on us having the gray checkerboards on the sides? You do realize though that Goldeneye is the first game to not make you look at the checkerboard since it can be switched to 16:9 widescreen? Which is frankly the ONLY way to play the game.

Re: PSA: Splatoon 3's First Big Run Event Kicks Off Today (North America)

Big Disappointment is more like it. Once the novelty of playing Salmon Run on a regular battle stage wears off, there isn't anything else new and exciting. It is virtually identical to standard Salmon Run. They took Wahoo World, put in a new sky texture, new music and some gushers. That's about it. There was rumors/data mining of possibly a new King Salmonid, but nope, it's still just Cohozuna every time. All the hype and speculation this got was overkill. I'm still having fun mind you(as i always do with splatoon), but Big Run didn't live up to the relentless hype.

Re: Splatoon 3 Connection Issues? Looks Like An Update Is On Its Way

vio

I've definitely gotten my share of communication errors, but not to the extent that I rage and quit. Fortunately they have never occurred while in game. I had these errors with the first 2 games as well, but no where near to this extent. I'm willing to give it a pass since it's brand new game though. Like most games these days, it will be patched, updated and finely tuned over time. IIRC even MK 8 Deluxe had some connection issues initially(despite being a port of a wii u game), but they got 100% resolved fairly quickly. Overall I love the game though. Easily the best game in the series IMO and we haven't even scratched the surface on the butt loads of content updates coming over the next 2 years! Also is it just me or is Salmon Run noticeably more difficult than it was in 2? I mean that in a good way as I had become so proficient in 2 SR that it was sometimes too easy for me, depending on the weapon loadout and how good my teammates are. Also any time a Cohozuna shows up and does his epic roar, I lose my sh%t! Damn is he tough as hell to defeat too.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection

I am so disappointed by this roll back netcode. Every game I play it is fine with just 2 players, but once a third player joins, it turns into a lag fest. Anyone got any suggestions? Would maxing out the frame delay help? Also, am I somehow missing it or is there no way to adjust the screen size in online mode? I can do it offline no prob, but not online in the 4 supported games.

Re: Watch Us Play The Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere Demo - Live!

vio

@Grant007 What are you talking about? The gameplay is faster, tighter and more refined than 1 & 2. And you guys need to stop acting like this is representative of the full proper game. It's just a demo! The full game will be far richer in content, with tons of additional content added over a span of 2 years. The gameplay always gets tweeked repeatedly as well. I lost count of how many times they did that with Splatoon 2.
