Hmm, I don't know. The choice to not include the DLC in this physical package for whatever reason is a bit off putting -for me-. Like why not even in the the higher priced special editions? 'You get everything you see here! Buuuuut does not include DLC'. Boo. x:
@Desa Agreed. Spare me the BS trinkets. I'd prefer the expansion packs. But that's LRG for you. 🤷♂️
@Desa I couldn't have said it better myself. I felt so burned when I got the Limited Run of Streets of Rage 4, which did not include the DLC, while later physical releases included the DLC.
I like that LRG is starting to do a standalone steelbook tier, I think I'll get that for Espgaluda II. Frequently that's the only thing I want from a special edition (at most, that and an artbook [Xenoblade 3 SE is perfect for me] - I'm personally not going to enjoy the little trinkets, stands, or statues for most things, but I understand some people like them of course).
$20 is a little pricey as it's best when they're a free first print bonus or something, but it's also around the most I've paid for one secondhand when it's all I've wanted from a collector's edition, and I could always get the standard instead.
I just appreciate the option, that's all, so thanks for that LRG!
@Desa It's probably because they don't want to upgrade to a bigger, more expensive cartridge. Typical cheapskate move we've seen with a lot of physical Switch releases, although this one at least has the full main game.
@Desa it's likely bc the game itself is already taking up a ton of space on the cartridge. It already has to be a 32 gb release.
@InJeffable
I mean yeah I know. Just saying I think a collectors edition would feel more complete not with all the physical hokey pokey included, but just with them making the game itself feature complete. Considering the nature of Limited Run, having a version in some way with everything on cart at a higher charge would be fine. They only print what's needed after all, and those that want that can be happy too.
@HammerKirby From what I'm seeing here, it looks like Doom Eternal on Switch with all DLC included is 29 GB. It seems very unlikely that The Ancient Gods, Part 2 would be 29 GB on its own (since the main game is only 17.5 GB), so I can only conclude that everything together is 29 GB. https://help.bethesda.net/#en/answer/53886
I was hoping the DLC would be included on the cart after such a long wait. But I figured it wouldn't all fit on a 32gb cart anyway. The standard edition will be fine for me. It will be nice to have the full Doom collection complete and on cartridges for Switch 😁
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again; I suspect that LRG’s physical release will be a tailor-made build that only includes the base game’s content (plus updates). I’ve also noticed that English is the only supported language listed, which suggests that cuts were made in order to fit everything onto a 16GB cartridge.
This also means that save data for the eShop version will not be compatible with LRG’s release, nor will the DLC (though DLC can be purchased on its own anyway, even if you haven’t purchased the base game).
I suspect that a similar release will follow that contains the expansion missions in its own tailor-made build/cartridge, and while a complete all-in-one cart would have been preferable, this is a compromise that I am willing to accept.
I am also really glad that there is a separate steelbook edition for a change (though the US$20 premium stings).
Is it to late for people to care about this. I mean the games been out a while now.
Hahaha, I'm not buying the overpriced versions from LRG.
i am getting it! Can't wait! Whens it coming? Christmas 2023 maybe? and they need the money now? Hmmm. Okay.
While I wouldn't mind having Doom Eternal physical, I've already beaten all of it with the digital copy. Fantastic game, but I'll have to pass.
With or without the DLC I will get it!
All DooM games on the Swich in physical form is a must have for me!
@Silly_G the listing has been updated, there are now 4 languages listed - English, French , Portuguese, Spanish
@MarioBrickLayer : Interesting. So it seems that they were able to fit a few more in.
Does not include DLC, ouch! I guess it's still on the cartridge but at $60 that's pretty steep for a game this old.
Still gonna buy it though, I stupidly held off for physical and here's my chance.
The most horrible 1st person platforming in a 3d game ever. The best thing about this collection is that you van sell it. Unlike the digital version i got.
What a great game and superb port to Switch. Loved it and need to get back into the intense slaying of demoooons
I wont be getting these as already got the digital copies.
@KnightsTemplar the physical release is aimed for collectors. LRG will make a profit no doubt.
I still haven’t finished this game. It doesn’t feel like doom in a way. I much preferred 2016
Imagine giving money to such a scummy company.
Would totally get this physical...if it wasn't $60...and if it included DLC.
Guess I'll keep waiting for the DLC bundle to hit $25 and get it on the eShop then.
This is no better than scalping. Just give us the box version from the get-go. Im not ok with this trend..
Look, I love my Switch as much as the next person but this is a bit much, isn’t it? I understand if it’s you’re only console but for me I played Doom Eternal day 1 on Gamepass, then less than a year later got it new sealed for £5, and then got the DLC on sale for £6. £11 for a much better version of the same game (and I do have Doom 2016 on my Switch and it runs really well considering the limited specs of the system.)
£60 for a vanilla version of an inferior (though no doubt still impressive) port? £180 for a load of tat (and still no DLC, which is about 2/3 the length of the campaign on its own)? Limited run are laughing all the way to the bank…
time it actually gets made by LRG never mind shipped to you will be 4 bucks on eshop
Eh I knew this was bound to happen but got the digital version anyways. Price tag is a little up there, if this doesnt include the dlc but ill be getting it since it will be the only means to have it physically for the switch.
i seriously blame bethesda for this mess we should of gotten the physical version at launch and not have to wait a year later to get it.
That Ultimate Edition is tempting
I hope this gets a wide release like shredder's revenge so I can avoid LRG's terrible shipping costs.
Limited Run is not about game preservation...it's just a FOMO scam.
Anything beyond the $60 version shouldn't really exist.
@marktornits their shipping costs are nothing compared to their shipping times.
Preorders in July means not actually playing it until February next year.
@Bizzyb
I concur- thank you
Uhh has this still not released?
