@dustinprewitt Personally I can't stand the Wii U Majora's Mask or the Wii U Virtual Console in general because of that damn dark filter on all the games. More so a shame the Wii VC is long gone now... It was the OG and still the best. To think we got TurboGrafx-16/PC Engine masterpieces like Rondo of Blood and Lords of Thunder on there! Fat chance of that ever happening on the Switch.
@Wexter Not sure what you mean by copy and paste, I didn't read your comment. To answer your question, why are assuming Nintendo would accrue any cost here? Nightdive self funds most of their remasters. If Nightdive wants to pay for it and put in the man hours, Nintendo should allow them.
@octokid Yes, of course you can. Just as you could with the DLC for the Wii U version of 8. They mentioned this in the trailer, not sure how you missed that.
@ChimpHunter 100% with you! I likewise have the EP, so I'm getting this truckload of new content for free essentially. My biggest gripe with Deluxe was that it's focus was all on the Battle Mode, which admittedly did need to be fixed as it was a joke in the Wii U version, but I like to race! It took forever but here comes Nintendo with "Hows 48 more tracks sound to you?" LOL. I'm anxiously awaiting March 18th. MK 9 can wait until the Switch successor is here.
@rjejr Uhm, actually, Splatoon 2 is 4 and a half years old now and will be 5 years old by the time 3 releases this Summer. BTW, 2 came out only 2 years after the 1st game..
Yeah, August 18th is too late. Summer is coming to a close at that point. Splatoon 1 came out May 28th and Splatoon 2 came out July 21st. So June seems pretty likely for 3.
@NinChocolate To each their own of course, but I find Ranked Battle and Salmon Run to be FAR more fun than Turf War. After I unlock Ranked, the only time I touch Turf is when there is a Splatfest.
I very much enjoyed Trilogy, so I shall be getting this. I've also been highly tempted to get Strange Brigade, but I fear no one is playing it online anymore, making it essentially worthless.
@UltimateOtaku91 You're definitely on your own. You don't seem to grasp how these multiplayer arena shooters work. You think this is bad? Take a look at Activision whom pumps out a new Call of Duty every year. Nor can you even properly judge a game still in development with some short trailers.. I think if you had your way they would change up the formula so much that the hardcore fanbase(like myself) would revolt. I want new and FRESH, but also want the core game to be the same Splatoon I fell in love with on the Wii U 7 years ago. Thank you.
Hopefully it has a strong online community when that is added. I'm always saddened when quality racers on the Switch that are not Mario Kart(see fast rmx) quickly turn into ghost towns.the only
The lack of new content is why I mostly abandoned the game. Burned out on racing those same tracks for years and years now. Hopefully MK 9 is real since Nintendo is clearly never producing more DLC for 8.
@BlueOcean Yep, I love Extreme-G. Tends to be unfairly overlooked. The series died when good ol' Acclaim went bust many moons ago. Shame no one will buy the rights and release a collection for modern consoles. BTW, it was not last seen as a Gamecube launch title. The final game was Extreme-G Racing Association(the 4th), which came out in 2003. Acclaim went under the following year and thus no more Extreme-G..
Bravo! Bethesda and their partners do the classic 90s "boomer shooters" right! All this for only 10 bucks. If you're at all a fan of Quake, you would be a fool not to pick this up off the eShop. Same applies to all of their excellent releases of the Doom series.
@BoilerBroJoe "Boomer Shooter" is a generational label(baby boomer generation), referring to classic old school 90s FPS games like Doom, Quake, etc. While it has a nice ring to it, ironically it is not at all accurate because most baby boomers didn't play those games! It was gen X and older millennials like myself who did. For example, my parents and my wifes parents are boomers and trust me, none of them were playing Doom in the 90s LOL.
@Grandiajet Yeah, I strongly suspect they just put it out in this state because they wanted it out there for the holidays. Greed can be very bad. What a shame that these games finally get ported to a Nintendo console and this is what we get.
@Alztru That's a terrible assessment. Virtual Console on the Wii had Genesis, Master System and Turbografx-16. They weren't Nintendo systems back then either, but I don't recall anyone objecting to their inclusion. The reason no one was clamoring for Genesis/Mega Drive on NSO is because we already have the Sega Genesis Classics collection and the Sega Ages series. Frankly, the problem is the launch lineup is a bunch of games already available on the Switch. If they release some good Genesis games on NSO that aren't already available on the Switch else where, the value and appeal will increase substantially.
I knew the comments section was gonna be lit, LOL. Yeah, it is overpriced for sure, but please keep a little perspective. Remember that N64 games were 10 bucks a pop on the Virtual Console. Curious then that a lot of people want the VC back. Also, Banjo-Kazooie! Never thought that would actually grace a Nintendo console ever again. I suspect Tooie will come as well later down the road.
@ModdedInkling I don't know what you saw in the Direct that made you come to that conclusion. NSO is definitely going to be required for Splatoon 3. It's 20 bucks a year dude. That isn't diddly these days.
@Scrubicius Get it! It's a bargin at only 10 bucks, a lot of bang for your buck. Unlike Quake 3, it also has single player. Furthermore, we don't when or if Quake 3 is getting the remaster treatment.
@Zenszulu Yes, it is the full Quake 64. Just keep in mind that it has an ugly CRT filter put on it and there's no way to disable it. That's my only complaint. Hopefully they'll give us the option to turn it off in a future update.
@FlyingFoxy The Switch can't do ray tracing though. I don't want the game to look like some some super slick modern HD FPS anyway. We've already got Doom 2016, Doom Eternal and Wolfenstein 2 for that. The enhancements in this remaster are just right. Nightdive always does these retro FPS perfectly.
@60frames-please Ok, I now know what's going on with it. Apparently it has a CRT filter draped over it and sadly, there's no way to disable it. I can't stand it either, but hey, at least Quake 64 is there. Maybe they'll provide an option to disable it in a future update?
@Guitario I've watched direct capture footage of the arcade version and it looks identical. Keep in mind the arcade version came out in 2016 too. If you want to see yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGh2ZwWJSMs
@XenoShaun Frankly, if a single player experience is what you're looking for, Splatoon is probably not for you. Sure, it has a single player mode, but the multiplayer is really what the games are all about.
@Lone_Beagle 8BitDo is awesome! I do not have any of their controllers, but I do have their arcade stick. It is very well made, I have zero complaints. They make quality products at a good price.

@Yosher Is that confirmed though? How would anyone know at this point if the DLC vanishes if you cancel your Expansion Pack membership?

Shameful Nintendo.. Nightdive have long since proven they are masters of their craft.

I just discovered that you can now turn off that fugly CRT filter on Quake 64!
