@Misima Complete and utter rubbish. People can do more than one thing. Encourage your children to explore a variety of pastimes. No reason to block one hobby because you weren't able to control yourself.

@CorvoRevo I thought that of Minecraft but apparently some people loved it. I can't bring myself to watch it. Jack Black was funny over a decade ago, now it just seems like listening to your dad tell jokes where he only remembers half of it.

Playing the updated Yakuza Kiwami 1 and 2 in preparation for Kiwami 3 remaster/remake in Feb. May play Yakuza 6, if I finish these in with time to spare.

It's a niche genre. I loved it. It's not COD49 or some other overused AAA genre, but that's why it won't be a GOTY. I get CO33 because it's one of the OG genres of gaming, and I loved it myself, but I think it will be a cold day in Hades before a VN ever wins GOTY. It's like a dark secret of gamers. A very, very fun dark secret.

It's a good game. Some aspects they seem to lean into slightly, then back away. You can tell it went in a hundred different directions, before picking a direction. Good game, but not memorable.

ATLUS and RGG milking them remakes. Granted, they are good games but give us Persona 6!!

@YoshiFR2 I feel your passion but the very last thing Switch 2 needs, right now, is another racing game.
Loved F Zero but it was very vanilla compared to racing games today. We have MK, Kirby, Sonic and Forza.
Can't imagine how they'd make a F Zero to compete with them.
Maybe it's possible, but I highly doubt it. That is probably mostly nostalgia speaking.

Not sure if this is a critique, or just an observation, but the characters look so large compared to the real estate of the screens. Are those images cropped or is that how it is in the game?

I lived through this era, even before it (pre Atari 2600), and that still looks rough

@PlatinumTour The fact people are still buying Xboxes, even in double digit numbers, is more amazing. That is definitely a sinking ship. Maybe they pull a comeback like Nintendo did with Switch after Wii U but their leadership in the gaming division needs a complete overhaul, first.

I couldn't really get into it, in single player mode. It came with my system but I barely played it. I'm sure it would be a hit at a gathering but I miss the days of Diddy Kong Racing and story adventure mode. The exploration mode in MKW is a miss to me and could have been much more. :/

The only game I've heard of on that list, and played none of them. Mark me safe.

Switch 2 titles aren't really a large swath, right now. Two racing games in that catalog, is probably too much. I would be curious if it eventually gets a Christmas (boxing day?) bump?

@cedarhyped No foresight but previews, so far, sure do make me pause, a bit. I love being wrong, in the right way, about a game. Maybe it's the "second coming" of Metroid, but I'm convinced, yet.

I'm going to wait on reviews for this game. I hope I'm wrong but the previews aren't exactly screaming day one buy, for me, and I love the traditional Metroid series.

@TripleJump Mario Kart World needed a single player story-driven type campaign. (A la Diddy Kong Racing)
It seemed completely setup for it and nope, they didn't even try. Free roam isn't really any fun, at least to me. It's pointless wandering.

The sewer areas made me wish the main game had more different environment locations. Not sure I want to pay an extra $30 to see that, though.
