@Exerion76 I haven't heard too many naysayers but it is definitely an ARPG. Some of my favorite games have been ARPGs, though. So, nothing wrong with that. What it isn't, is turn-based.

I've owned every Nintendo console and the FTC is right. I have a PS5 and a Nintendo, very different products. I don't own a Xbox because I got a decent rig that plays any games in that universe.

If it ever comes to pass, I'm definitely expecting more Wind Waker than Twilight Princess. If I could get behind anime for Zelda/Link it would definitely be a darker Twilight Princess story. Zero chance that gets green-lit, though.

@ModdedInkling It's also their job to market the game. If the average Nintendo user doesn't really understand what this is, that's on them. I don't even know if I would truly know much about the game if it wasn't for gaming sites.

How is fast travel not something you figure out in the first 30 minutes? Wonder what the reaction would have been to BOTW or TOTK if they truly made you traverse everywhere? It's an intriguing thought and definitely would have ensured you saw more of the game than the main quest but this generation is definitely locked into fast travel being a gimme in open world type games. Playing the RE4 Remake now and really wish it had a fast travel system. Maybe it does and I haven't figured that out after playing for 20 hours? I have made it to the castle, so if it's before that, I completely missed it. Scared to look because anytime you look online for something about a game you usually find out more information than you wanted to know.

@SACHism I get it. I'm not into FPS multiplayers and that's a big chunk of games out there. These type of games are definitely more in the I prefer to play alone category.

I'm going to go out on a thick and sturdy limb and say the Switch version will only be a good choice if you have no other choice.

Could also say why the gear with asterisk are good to have. I see some have the pic saying it's effect, some don't. Also, might be great to list the effects of having that particular gear fully upgraded and worn as a set. But so far, so good.

Never seen people so upset about a movie. As long as Nintendo keeps making Zelda games, I'm good. Movie is either good, or it isn't. For a protagonist that has spoken less words than Mario (ignoring the '80s) I have no doubt whatever they do will be controversial.

@Coalescence That's true but what's the next big system seller from Nintendo? They're either keeping a tight lid on things, or it's Pikmin 4 and then tumbleweeds and crickets. Maybe if you have a big backlog for Switch. this makes perfect sense, but it does feel more like the current Switch is almost EOL. Guess we'll see, it certainly would have seemed more useful even a year ago, at least to me.

This really seems like it was meant to be a bundled title for the Switch Pro. One day we are going to find out if it truly was in development, or if it still is.

Anyone in that position without competent legal and financial (or ones that they actually listen to), shouldn't be in that position, and won't for long. It's easy to be stupid when you're broke, but if you got that kind of money, you better listen and take advice from the professionals. No pun intended, but it's literally not a game, or if you treat like one you better have some 1-Ups in your pocket.

That's something that could be fixed, if not by Nintendo, then the community. If a speed runner can use a stick and an apple to beat the game, I'm sure we could work something out.

I've been tortured more than the Toroks on YouTube with my crappy builds. Caught on fire, drowned, launched into a ceiling, I was never good at legos, or tinker toys. Love the old Banjo Nuts and Bolts concept, but I suck at it.

I admit I might need therapy after looking at these and thinking of my lame attempts to build anything. I suck at it. I literally climbed Death mountain, that's how bad I am.

I’m as Nintendo as the next guy, but a $70 fighting game on an underpowered (most likely close to EOL) console, is a stretch.

Yeah, it’s a shame that Nintendo’s software runs faster for pirates. I don’t really know what stopped them from releasing a Switch Pro along side this game and letting customers decide. Could have given the Switch a little longer lifecycle, as well. Nintendo is great at making games but is notoriously bad at hardware decisions almost every other generation.

Which is why we needed a next generation Switch with the debut of this game. Are they holding out the next Mario or Metroid for their next hardware? If not, what would sell it?

No way to know. So many Steam Deck knock offs entering the market, it may not have anything to do with the Switch. Knowing Nintendo, if you even eluded to anything related to them, they'd fit you for cement shoes.

Pong was invented after I was born, and I still can't bring myself to play these.

I guess after a cool billion making it easily accessible to pirates doesn't really matter as much. With TOTK leaking early there might be a chance that Nintendo moves more towards movies. Can you imagine any game bringing in a billion???

I contemplated an OLED Switch for this game but I'm too afraid that the Switch is near it's swan song. Probably why they haven't announced a Switch 2, yet. Only thing that might have changed my mind if the $70 game came bundled with an OLED.

@Cashews My fear is that will make digital the product category of choice and then physical gets left out in the cold. Make no doubt, that is exactly what the gaming companies want. One copy, one owner. Second hand sales would die on the vine. More options, more ability to save. I have bought digital but it's not my preferred method of buying games.

@-wc- I'd say for anyone who wants another Zelda game, then buy this one. You can't pirate the game and then complain if they never make another one.
