My biggest takeaway, is the dock can be used with other handhelds. Not implementing an industry standard feature, is very Nintendo, not blocking other uses, is very un-Nintendo. Not that I suspected that it wasn't anything but a fancy USB-C dock, just surprised it works with anything else.
Seems spoilery, so I didn't read the list Maybe it's obvious from the beginning of the game, but seems like the plot of most Pokemon games is discovery. Maybe this spinoff is different
@sketchturner I think that word seems to have taken a different game-related meaning but it's still going to be a trailer direct from Nintendo. Guess that's the point. As opposed to being released through 3rd party marketing.
@ShadLink I got 50+ hours in and found one, on accident. REminds me of my fishing skills, I love fishing but fish don't like me. My dad, on the other hand, he made fishing look easy
Well TBF, it's the consumers that keep driving these sales. Problem is there is so much crapware, and even AAA flops coupled with games become much more expensive, people are weary of testing waters outside of their comfort zone. Though, I do think games like Black Myth Wukong, Clair Obscur and Stellar Blade helped proved a good game, even without a household name, will sell.
@Gamer_Griff An hour of gameplay from Metroid 4 would garner complaints of spoilers but to directly answer your question, November 14th is the expected date of more of an inside look from most gaming website
I just don't get why they didn't modernize the interface and battle system. I couldn't get past that in the III remake. Really no reason to remake it, at that point. I know I'll catch crap for that, but it's a very tedious ancient system, IMO, and better left in the past. (It's funny the main trailer for III remake, never shows the battle interface, not once.)
Remakes, upgrades. This past decade probably has had more of that then new IP. I don't remember a generation of gaming where it was this bad, or good, however you see it.
@Lord People love anything that has been built up to just be knocked down. I haven't played it yet, and maybe these criticisms are warranted but I doubt anyone picked up a Pokemon game and thought I can't wait for the witty banter with NPCs.
@Multi Yeah, I guess it's game related, but contracts come and go all of the time. A contract, by its very nature, has a beginning and an end. My heart goes out to people displaced, but this happens all of the time.
Why wouldn't it be fair to expect this type of game for $20? The fact people are putting out crapware for $20, is the real problem. You don't have to give it away but price it where it's equivalent to the gampelay and you'll move more product. The fact Steam and game keys exist, shouldn't mean higher costs.
Back when studios weren't afraid to take chances at a darker emotional game. You still get that on Steam games, but almost never on consoles. Even a game like Conker's Bad Fur Day, has almost no chance of seeing a greenlight on consoles, especially Nintendo.
DK and it isn't even close. Played both. MKW feels like MW8 with new paint and a few gimmicks, but that's the issue with the series. Insanely fun with a lot of people, but not so much for people who prefer to introvert.
As an adult gamer, I take offense to bashing adults for playing games but this is some very un-adult stuff. Imagine what kids must think watching adults behave like that?
Devoting all my attention to Death Stranding 2. Absolute masterpiece. I bought the first one and it sat on my shelf for year. Once I started I couldn't put it down. All of the reviews saying "walking simulator" are completely wrong. A story better than most modern movies.
Hooo boy, the Switch 2 good news train keeps on chugging. Not saying I won't buy one, but hasn't been a single thing thing I've heard that makes me want to drop everything and buy one.
I'm getting Wii/DS successor vibes. I'm always pleasantly surprised when video game companies succeed where I doubted them. Prior to the OG Switch, I thought Nintendo might be headed down the SEGA road. I was wrong then and hope I'm wrong now.
I plan on getting one but gonna let the silly season of launch run its course. Nothing yet that I see as a system seller.Side by side of Mario Kart 8 and 9 and I can barely tell the difference.Might just be my vision, but I can wait.
@Greenspan Getting really, really bad DS/Wii successor vibes here. (Sincerely hope Nintendo proves me wrong.) So far all I've seen is basically the Switch Pro, we all talked about for years, with no OLED screen. Calling this a Switch 2 is going to be chaos enough.
I don't know if I completely blame Nintendo, and really hope I'm dead wrong, but I really am starting to get some Wii U vibes based on cost and game lineup. I won't celebrate if I'm right, just looking to me like Switch 2 may be a victim of the times and extremely high expectations of a successor to its highly successful predecessor. (Sound familiar?)
