@ozwally Exactly. It's a clone of about 15 games using that same format. Can't imagine paying more than $5 for something like this. (Apparently it's a port and has been on mobile and other platforms since 2021. This article made almost seemed to imply, at first, that it's new and maybe edited later. It's not)

@rvcolem1 Jail? I mean they are pretty overcrowded to be throwing pirates in. Monetary judgements I can see. Would be funny, though, to ask someone who enters prison what they did and be told they played Mario for free.

Worse than Zelda, Metroid might be just the worse time between main games. I really don't understand it, one of the most sought after IPs in the world of Nintendo but they treat it like its the black plague. Remasters? How about a new mainline game? I'm not saying they have to Call of Duty 68 the thing, but yeesh.

This is going to make the Borderlands movie look like a masterpiece of cinema.

This is one of the times I agree with the litigious actions of Nintendo. It sounds like they gave him every chance to stop and he just kept screaming "Make me!"

Well, they are just obliging him.

Hell, I'd been more surprised if it wasn't backwards compatible, but Nintendo always nitendo'ing wouldn't have been too shocking. I guess.

This probably works as well as us telling them not to try to pet the bison, when they come to our parks.

The hardest part of this, is me trying to remember which Yakuza games I played and which ones I skipped.

@LikelySatan That's a good point but why review it professionally if you already hate the series? Would be like me reviewing Call of Duty 78, or whatever number they are on. They shouldn't choose someone like me to review something I already don't like.

@Yosher It's a simple concept, a lot of modern game sites just choose who is available to review, whether they like the genre, or not. And it shows.

Pretty sure that IS the topic.

I'm beginning to think we all have pandemic brain. If 2024 isn't the biggest year of over-analyzing everything, I don't know what year would grab that title.

There's something uncanny or really janky about the artistic direction of this game. Before you come at me, that's just my thoughts on what I've seen so far. I don't wish for any games failure but I'm really hesitant about this one.

This may just succeed Borderlands in terms of video game movie failures.

@trymer89 It's definitely more a thinking/take your time/puzzle type game with traditional dungeons, and I mean that in the best way. Love it.

This isn't personal, win or lose, Nintendo is required to defend it's IP. It's a slippery legal slope when you stop doing that and legal warfare is basically a corporate must. This isn't me siding with either party, just knowing how corporations work.

@TKundNobody I'll be honest, I never endlessly obsess about framerate, myself, but it is a highly noticeable issue in this game. I thought it had something to do with my TV, at first. It just feels janky.

Glad to be wrong but looks like shovelware

If I can't get it shipped from Amazon Prime or Walmart Plus, I'll get it digital. I avoid brick and mortar stores like the plague. My wife won't even take me shopping, she knows I'm too old and grumpy.

Astro Bot. Damn what a game. I literally thought it would be okay and scores were probably overblown. They aren't. One of the bast platformers I've played in years, including the mustached plumber in the red hat.

Patent infringement. Uses animals in a platformer while playing funky music.

Unless I just missed the point of this, I'd prefer something new. If it's an existing IP, a surprised launch of Elder Scrolls 6 running smoothly on Switch 2 would be a nice "Skyrim" moment.

Well, to be fair, it was more of a reveal to Asia but it's obviously coming to the West at some point. Unless it pulls a Concord.

Now that they said these games aren't canon, this book kind of takes some of the wind out of my paraglider.

@N64-ROX Stress usually has the opposite effect. Urban legend the Marines would put salt-peter in chow hall meals to make recruits not think about that but truth is stress is a mood killer. Not that we saw much of the opposite sex to begin with. It was extremely rare.
