Do they need a reason? No. E3 was a necessary thing when conventions were relevant. They haven't been relevant in a decade and the pandemic just pushed the relevant needle even further to the non-relevant side. In person conventions are going to be a part of a Netflix YA horror series years from now. Like malls were to Stranger Things...

@Jireland92 Only difference is I know exactly what they mean by Metroidvania and no idea with "Search Action".

And here we go...These projects start off looking strong then just tend to fizzle towards the end.

I don't know a single time I've been playing a game where I get a neat new weapon and thought to myself "Sh*t, I just wish this thing would break after I hit the next monster." One of the dumbest video game gimmicks I can think of.

Any game that has dynamic dungeons, etc. Was supposed to love Dead Cells but literally couldn't make it past the first hour due to a bug. Never picked it back up.

This was my surprise hit of 2022. Spent the last week playing it and still am. Amazing game.

I have zero replay-ability. I've tried. There are several games I wish I could MiB mind wipe and play again but just can't replay a game. It's always done and dusted, for me.

I played more on Switch than on my PS5.

I put about 20 minutes into this game and put it back on the shelf. I know I'm probably missing out but there are so many games I want to play, and I am playing, that I was almost worried of getting sucked into a shooter.

One of those games, where at my age I'm trying to remember if I played this one? Definitely played a lot of SCUMM games, especially Sam and Max, DotT

Sorry Nintendo. Playing this on Steam Deck and this is this easily the most time I've spent playing on this system. Great game and an easy classic. Buy it if you have a Switch or a Steam Deck, it's a really great RPG, and begs to be played handheld.

Loving every bit of it. Couple of niggling things, and extremely minor. Some of the boss fights are way way harder than normal encounters. Hard to really grind, you can earn SP to upgrade your special attacks, but the game is stingy with SP points. Weapon upgrades are available but also limited. Finally, probably my ignorance, but getting stars to add additional special attacks seems random, or I didn't pay attention to the circumstances that make that happen.

Last two Ys games. Somehow missed them before but picked them up and played them this year. Put a ton of hours into both.

@wuntyme8 Exactly how I feel about Souls or Rogue-lite games. I don't need that much anxiety

Chained Echoes. One of those games where, necessary or not, I find myself save scumming.
