Come on people. This is so clearly intentional. They knowingly sold broken trash to the masses and took years to fix the game. They’re not quite EA, but they are in the conversation for sleazy game companies. They need to use tricks like this to get ahead in their sales.
AAA games are too expensive now.. For 70-80 USD, I’d required a 10/10 game with no stupid looking bike. I still love Nintendo, but Prime 4 may be one of their biggest flops.
Was obsessed with Sierra as a kid. Recently picked up Thimbleweed Park on sale. I have never heard of this one. But it looks great and I’ll keep my eye on it. Hoping they can find a way to bring some type of Sierra collection
With the increase in game prices and discontinuation of Nintendo gold points, I am finding myself much stingier with my purchase decisions. I might consider this game under 20 bucks. Luckily I have a massive backlog to catch up on so I can easily hold out for better deals.
If you think it’s funny to stub your toe then yes this game is flat out hilarious. Maybe behind the manufactured difficulty to artificially increase the play time there is some humor.
No surprise. Playtonic is borderline shovelware. This remaster/remake of garbage should be a free update. Fix your game before trying to sell me the “better” version.
@SpaceboyScreams well 150 times might be exaggerating but might not be 😂 sure felt like it. But when I finally did beat it, I felt nothing and then felt even more nothing when nothing happened but a door opening. But don’t worry, I’m not giving up on the game yet!
@Kraven that’s a fair point . Honestly, I am puzzled by the game. It’s obvious a lot of love was put into the game. I have a ton of respect for team cherry. I am still figuring out what makes me dislike it.
So I think Hollow Knight might be the best “metroidvania” game of all time. My expectations for silksong were not low, but I didn’t foresee them surpassing the first one. Which was OK because in my eyes the first one is a modern day classic.
In silksong I love the worlds, and all the new crests, abilities, etc.. I will eventually beat silksong as I have beaten Hollow Knight twice before (second play through ended two weeks before silksong release).
I have never heard the term “run backs” before this game came out. I really dislike them. It wouldn’t be as bad if they didn’t put your coccoon back inside the boss room. Creates this unnecessary loop of getting your stuff back and getting creamed again. When all I wanted was to get my stuff back and go back later. It discourages me from exploring more because I am sick of stepping into a boss fight , getting killed and having to go back into the boss fight. Does this make sense? I know I’m rambling some. It’s not that i find the difficulty too hard. I find the difficulty too annoying. The developers have decided they wanted to kill us more and make us suffer more because of it. It punishes the “one more try” mentality via shards. That’s fine, but just not for my taste.
@waldo13 after 150 attempts against the last judge you are awarded with absolutely nothing. Not even one rosary bead. I already went through the mist to get to the other side. It was a pointless unrewarding experience that cost me boat loads of those stupid shards. There is literally nothing rewarding about accomplishing beating this challenge.
Then they like to put your coccoon trapped right inside the boss area so you are stuck going back to get it so you can try to die closer to the entrance.
If this game gets a whiff of consideration for GoTY then the video game industry is in trouble .
It’s difficult for the sake of being difficult. I can see why it took them so long to release it. They broke it and couldn’t fix it.
Yeah I’m not buying this explanation. The difficulty wasn’t thought out well. Don’t you love it when your cocoon gets locked in a boss room. That did not happen much in the first game. They usually placed it outside of the room. The stupid cheap difficulty in this game paired with the stupidly placed benches break the whole exploration angle of the game. I still love Team Cherry but silksong is definitely inferior to the first game. Never thought they’d be able to top that masterpiece. They got close with this one, but there is too much frustration with this game’s cheap and annoying “manufactured” difficulty along with a much slower progression of abilities. I’m starting to hate the game.
The placement of certain benches especially far away from certain bosses has created an artificial difficulty spike. For that , I knock it down a peg to a 9/10. It’s a great game though so far (I’m on act 2)
Facing the last judge for days now. I’m starting to hate this game . Team Cherry strategically placed benches to artificially increase difficulty. This game is not fun any more
@jfp Where did I say they owe me? I supported this game initially because I like these types of games. I ignored the reviews (which have been updated from the initial poorer reviews, also my fault for ignoring) and got burned.
I am a consumer in a comment section on a video game website. I am allowed to state that I will not be spending this kind of money on a rehash of a BAD game. They don’t owe me anything and I don’t owe them anything. That’s why I said I would “consider” downloading it for free.
@jfp because even though the original played like shovelware, it showed potential as a good game, maybe a great game, if it wasn’t originally released in the poor state it was released in
I’d consider downloading a free update to the mediocre switch version I have. But this pricing is garbage.
If I paid 20 dollars for the original, that means I get the upgrade for another 20. But if I never supported them in the beginning I could have gotten this for 10 dollars cheaper at 30. No thanks!
Wow after the lackluster direct and indie spotlight, night dive knocks it out of the park! Can’t wait to download this. I have been hoping they would do this. Unreal Tournament next please!
I’m really hoping the direct reveals some good surprises. I know many have praised Switch 2’s launch, but I found it just decent. Since then it has really fizzled and I am back to playing the same stuff I was playing on the switch. I liked that they released Strikers on NSO. But Mario Paint? Yikes, that is good advertisement for a bad mouse. As one who purchased the switch 2 on day 1, I’m not regretting it. But I was hoping for some more of those great Nintendo surprises by now.
You can’t help what you love some might say. Well I loved Star Wars Hunters. Then one day they just said they’re pulling the plug. As great as this game looks to me, I just can’t have my “heart broken” again!
Ok got it so if I play switch 2 only on my TV you have determined that I must believe a cloud is an airplane . 😂 I think you need to take a step out of the nineties and realize innovation has occurred since then and we have a brand new category that you are not accepting. I suppose you deny that switch 2 is an electronic device. Because if you were to tell me you believe it is, I could only determine (by your logic)that you think a coffee maker is a video game device. And where does this end? Would you say that the Switch is a form of matter? So the switch is also a toe nail? You don’t need to explain further, I understand what you are saying. It’s just that what you are saying is a bit crazy.
@rjejr I’m so lost on your logic. A boat and a submarine are both watercraft. An air plane and a helicopter are both aircraft. The switch and switch 2 are not portable consoles. The switch and switch 2 are not home consoles. The switch and switch 2 ARE hybrid consoles.
I got the switch 2 at launch. I enjoy playing it every day. I have not once played it in portable mode. Are you saying that means it is not a handheld console?
I think EA makes good games. But I also think they are a cancer to the gaming industry. Especially in the mobile market. When the video game industry crashes, we will be pointing at companies like this for the reason.
But this saddens me because it reminds me of a certain Nintendo CEO who cut his pay 50 percent to save his people from layoffs.
NLers… Come on…placing Fast Fusion above MKW? You’re being petty. You will be happier once you accept that it is the greatest Mario Kart game ever made. And it’s not even finished yet!

Re: Cyberpunk 2077's Massive Switch 2 eShop Discount Was An "Error"
Mistake… sure. Surprised they couldn’t get it removed before going to number 1 in best sellers 🙄😂
Re: 137 Switch 1 & 2 Games You Should Check Out In The 'Hits For The Holidays' Nintendo eShop Sale (US)
I’m not convinced that Cyberpunk at 75% off was a “mistake”.

Nightdive has been incredible. I am going to go ahead and blame Atari for this one.
Re: Opinion: Rayman 2 Is An Overlooked Platforming Classic About A Rebel With A Cause
Well, I wasn’t aware of this one. I loved Origins.
But so far Rayman 2 has been a really fun surprise. Looking forward to it!

Re: No Gravity Games Is Giving Away 10 Free Switch Games This Month (North America)
@Anachronism fair point. I’m hoping there will be something good in the pile.
Hey @NintendoLife, how about a best No Gravity Games list? 😄
Re: No Gravity Games Is Giving Away 10 Free Switch Games This Month (North America)
@Anachronism No hostility here. But these are not gifts. They’re not being nice. This a business decision.
They’re hoping to put their games near the top of the best sellers list to reel in suckers. That’s why they are free one day and on sale the next.
Re: Talking Point: Six Months Since Launch, How Would You Rate Switch 2?
Right now for me, it’s a 5/10. But by the end of its life it could be a 10/10.
I feel the software has been pretty lackluster, especially affected by the increase in game prices and the removal of 5% back incentive on eshop.
I don’t regret making a day 1 purchase of the system. But I am still primarily playing the games previously released on Switch.
I think the Switch 2 has many great years to come and I am very confident that eventually Nintendo will blow my socks off.
