Listed pros is that it’s a cheaper replica. Problem being the original was garbage. That puts the ceiling at 5/10. Throw in the fact that you need a subscription to play it drops this down. This is a 1/10 for me.
NSO needs to step it up. I know you get what you pay for, but we should’ve at least had Mario sunshine by now. Really all of the announced GameCube games should be on the system at this point
They got rid of the five percent back. Getting rid of vouchers. Between the big three, they have the absolute worst paid online subscription, dribbling out around 1 old ROM a month. It’s no wonder my switch 2 library has grown significantly slower than switch 1.
Come on people. This is so clearly intentional. They knowingly sold broken trash to the masses and took years to fix the game. They’re not quite EA, but they are in the conversation for sleazy game companies. They need to use tricks like this to get ahead in their sales.
AAA games are too expensive now.. For 70-80 USD, I’d required a 10/10 game with no stupid looking bike. I still love Nintendo, but Prime 4 may be one of their biggest flops.
Was obsessed with Sierra as a kid. Recently picked up Thimbleweed Park on sale. I have never heard of this one. But it looks great and I’ll keep my eye on it. Hoping they can find a way to bring some type of Sierra collection
With the increase in game prices and discontinuation of Nintendo gold points, I am finding myself much stingier with my purchase decisions. I might consider this game under 20 bucks. Luckily I have a massive backlog to catch up on so I can easily hold out for better deals.
If you think it’s funny to stub your toe then yes this game is flat out hilarious. Maybe behind the manufactured difficulty to artificially increase the play time there is some humor.
No surprise. Playtonic is borderline shovelware. This remaster/remake of garbage should be a free update. Fix your game before trying to sell me the “better” version.
@SpaceboyScreams well 150 times might be exaggerating but might not be 😂 sure felt like it. But when I finally did beat it, I felt nothing and then felt even more nothing when nothing happened but a door opening. But don’t worry, I’m not giving up on the game yet!
@Kraven that’s a fair point . Honestly, I am puzzled by the game. It’s obvious a lot of love was put into the game. I have a ton of respect for team cherry. I am still figuring out what makes me dislike it.
So I think Hollow Knight might be the best “metroidvania” game of all time. My expectations for silksong were not low, but I didn’t foresee them surpassing the first one. Which was OK because in my eyes the first one is a modern day classic.
In silksong I love the worlds, and all the new crests, abilities, etc.. I will eventually beat silksong as I have beaten Hollow Knight twice before (second play through ended two weeks before silksong release).
I have never heard the term “run backs” before this game came out. I really dislike them. It wouldn’t be as bad if they didn’t put your coccoon back inside the boss room. Creates this unnecessary loop of getting your stuff back and getting creamed again. When all I wanted was to get my stuff back and go back later. It discourages me from exploring more because I am sick of stepping into a boss fight , getting killed and having to go back into the boss fight. Does this make sense? I know I’m rambling some. It’s not that i find the difficulty too hard. I find the difficulty too annoying. The developers have decided they wanted to kill us more and make us suffer more because of it. It punishes the “one more try” mentality via shards. That’s fine, but just not for my taste.
@waldo13 after 150 attempts against the last judge you are awarded with absolutely nothing. Not even one rosary bead. I already went through the mist to get to the other side. It was a pointless unrewarding experience that cost me boat loads of those stupid shards. There is literally nothing rewarding about accomplishing beating this challenge.
Then they like to put your coccoon trapped right inside the boss area so you are stuck going back to get it so you can try to die closer to the entrance.
If this game gets a whiff of consideration for GoTY then the video game industry is in trouble .
It’s difficult for the sake of being difficult. I can see why it took them so long to release it. They broke it and couldn’t fix it.

NES, gold cartridge. Where my addiction to video games started.
Re: Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition Is "The First Step" In The Platformer's Comeback
Will it require me to create and log in to a ubi account to play? If so, it’s a definite NO from me.
Re: Review: Virtual Boy For Switch 1 & 2 - Is It Really Worth Revisting Nintendo's Greatest Folly?
7/10 yikes. Very generous score.
Listed pros is that it’s a cheaper replica. Problem being the original was garbage. That puts the ceiling at 5/10. Throw in the fact that you need a subscription to play it drops this down.
This is a 1/10 for me.

im going to keep my 13 year old self’s promise and never stick my face in one of these again. I wonder if it will outsell the original

I downloaded the Star Wars Outlaws Demo. It wanted me to create an Ubisoft account to play it. Deleted it immediately. Sale forever lost.

Re: Feature: "The Yoyo Was Special" - Finding The GBA Magic In 'Pipistrello And The Cursed Yoyo'
Ok NL, yall have been going hard on this game lately. Never heard of it until your recent articles.
Downloaded the demo a few weeks ago and it didn’t really grab me. After reading this I went ahead and took the plunge while it’s on sale.
Ok , I’m loving this game so far. Great recommendation NL. Of course, great job by Pocket Trap!

Re: Cyberpunk 2077's Massive Switch 2 eShop Discount Was An "Error"
Mistake… sure. Surprised they couldn’t get it removed before going to number 1 in best sellers 🙄😂
Re: 137 Switch 1 & 2 Games You Should Check Out In The 'Hits For The Holidays' Nintendo eShop Sale (US)
I’m not convinced that Cyberpunk at 75% off was a “mistake”.

Re: No Gravity Games Is Giving Away 10 Free Switch Games This Month (North America)
@Anachronism fair point. I’m hoping there will be something good in the pile.
Hey @NintendoLife, how about a best No Gravity Games list? 😄
Re: No Gravity Games Is Giving Away 10 Free Switch Games This Month (North America)
@Anachronism No hostility here. But these are not gifts. They’re not being nice. This a business decision.
They’re hoping to put their games near the top of the best sellers list to reel in suckers. That’s why they are free one day and on sale the next.
Re: Talking Point: Six Months Since Launch, How Would You Rate Switch 2?
Right now for me, it’s a 5/10. But by the end of its life it could be a 10/10.
I feel the software has been pretty lackluster, especially affected by the increase in game prices and the removal of 5% back incentive on eshop.
I don’t regret making a day 1 purchase of the system. But I am still primarily playing the games previously released on Switch.
I think the Switch 2 has many great years to come and I am very confident that eventually Nintendo will blow my socks off.

Re: Last Chance To Grab 40 Great Switch 1 & 2 Games In The 'Cyber Deals' eShop Sale (North America)
They need to bring back the 5 percent back on eshop purchases. Although my wallet disagrees.

Re: Yooka-Replaylee Runs At 30fps On Switch 2, Team Investigating Performance Mode
@Sonicka I found impossible lair very generic and extremely overrated. But to each their own!

If you liked hollow knight for the challenge, you’ll love silksong. If you liked hollow knight for the exploration… not so much.
