Yeh, I'm not sold on what I've seen so far. I was concerned at first that all the good reviews on Steam were paid for. Having not played it though, I could be mistaken.
@Aneira Oh don't mind me, I'm just be my usual dimwitted self rather than having a dig at you fist bumps I knew what you were aiming for ^_^ Apologies if my post came across as condescending.
Hopefully, the film won't stray too far from the source material with Miyamoto at the helm, but I imagine it will be its own thing with just references to many of the games to tick all the right boxes.
@dkxcalibur I have to agree with you bud - I tried Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing & subsequent offerings, but couldn't get used to how the vehicles felt. I also thought the majority of the courses and items were lacklustre compared to MK. I know some love it though, so I'm glad it has its fans. I did used to love Street Racer on the Mega Drive, but the graphics and experience haven't aged well compared to the wonders of Mode 7.
What bothers me the most is that the majority of these 'live' services will be dead on arrival, leaving the hard working people below the suits facing the chopping block.
I can picture the trailer now.. Present day New York, goofy sophomore stumbles across a magical ocarina during orchestra recital and gets transported to Hyrule Castle. Now, disoriented & fully clothed in the legendary green hero tunic, he hears someone humming a tune (the audience recognises this as the melody of the Hyrule Royal Family, Zelda's lullaby) & he stumbles into Princess Zelda's dressing room where she angrily shouts 'Well, EXCUSE ME!' & throws a clay pot at the door.. Stereotypical deep announcer voice Next summer, you'll experience a Link between worlds... & it will be dangerous to go alone...
@UltimateOtaku91 Not everyone celebrates Christmas, so I guess it would have to be more of a winter themed one (bit like North vs South Pole & Sweater vs Sock)
Interesting that they're not partnering with Universal for this, considering their current relationship. I would imagine it will do wonders for the Japanese stock market and I suspect the joint venture with Sony will mean it's a good test for future Sony game IP to move to the big screen.
I think there's still time for a stealth drop for 1,2 Son of a Switch to drop at some point before the next console. In dire need of a quality 1st party party game!
Whilst it may be difficult to juggle that many characters again, I still wish we could get a single player campaign to rival that of Subspace Emissary.
This notion of 4K 60FPS needs to stop - expectations are way too high, especially seeing as XBSX and PS5, for the most part, can't handle this. I'd be very happy with 1080p & 60FPS. Realistically, the specs for a Switch 2 are likely to utilise Nvidia's Ampere architecture, so expect specifications somewhere around the base Xbox One or PS4 at best, which is more than enough for a portable / docked hybrid. Let's just focus on the fun factor & quality first party releases (& pretty please with sugar on top, backwards compatibility with some smoothness updates for old titles struggling to reach 30FPS)
Absolutely disgusting!! This is beyond terrible... do they not think about the debt I will be in? Can they not see the holes in my socks?! I'm going to have a sell some more organs on the black market.... Ninetendo, stop releasing things I simply must add to my collection!!!
It's hard to convert the controls when this game and others of its time were meant for the arrow keys and space bar on a keyboard. That being said, I played the PC version a few weeks ago and it felt OK with WASD and mouse, albeit look movement with the mouse feels superfluous. This is one of my favourite FPS, but it has undeniably dated somewhat. Good review! Hoping to see the like of Hexen and Heretic brought back at some point.
I'm so glad they haven't deviated from the classic design we all know and love today. Lots of companies nowadays spend countless resources on rebranding, stating they are going for a modern look, where in my opinion, it's nothing more than over produced tosh akin to garnishing coffees with over zealous pictures made by a hipster barista.
Four titles for volume 1?! Wow, they're really spoiling us. If they did a physical release, I wonder how many they can squeeze on one cartridge?! One maybe? With the rest as DLC?
I'd rather these types of ports skip the Switch entirely. if WB / NetherRealm want income from Switch, they'd be better off giving us the classic entries instead.
I had a really hard time trying to like this back on the PS3 - I'm not sure I persevered more than a few hours, so I'm doubtful if I'll pick this up again.
Here are my confirmed games for this Direct (by my Auntie that works in the Nintendo kitchen on Thursdays) Hotel Mario Sequel Switch Music Shaq Fu 3 Nintendo Labo Star Fox Kit Story of Stardew: Cozy Twilight Harvest Factory Starfield Switch Edition Hentai Shovelware - Deluxe Edition Hentai Shovelware - Complete Edition Hentai Shovelware - Diamond Platinum Edition Metroid Prime Four! I chose Love - Think I only played against Money 3 times, the rest of the time were Mirror matches, which lead me to believe Love would clearly win the popularity vote. Still missing the Splatfest specific maps... slightly amended rotation stages feels like a bit of a cop-out
@PersianZSR I'm not sure, ask Miyamoto 🤣 Seriously though, I think it could work with very minimal to no dialogue, which could work for a lot of age ranges (similar to the appeal of the Minions really). A cute little tale set in an everyday back garden.
1 shovelware game removed - 12,367,215 left to go... I swear, if I see more 'Special' editions of naff games released every single week, I'll go mad. They use words like Platinum, Gold, Summer, Diamond in the title. No doubt The Last Hope will come back rebranded in some form.
@JONOFTHEJONS By leveling up your season catalog, spending cash at the Shell-Out Machine, Salmon Run Shop, general unlocks as you progress through the game and by the QR codes, like the one above.
So... more or less the same discounts they offer every 1-2 months for the last year then? Excluding the... ahem, let me quietly spit to one side... Cloud Versions of course.
