Absolutely disgusting!! This is beyond terrible... do they not think about the debt I will be in? Can they not see the holes in my socks?! I'm going to have a sell some more organs on the black market.... Ninetendo, stop releasing things I simply must add to my collection!!!
It's hard to convert the controls when this game and others of its time were meant for the arrow keys and space bar on a keyboard. That being said, I played the PC version a few weeks ago and it felt OK with WASD and mouse, albeit look movement with the mouse feels superfluous. This is one of my favourite FPS, but it has undeniably dated somewhat. Good review! Hoping to see the like of Hexen and Heretic brought back at some point.
I'm so glad they haven't deviated from the classic design we all know and love today. Lots of companies nowadays spend countless resources on rebranding, stating they are going for a modern look, where in my opinion, it's nothing more than over produced tosh akin to garnishing coffees with over zealous pictures made by a hipster barista.
Four titles for volume 1?! Wow, they're really spoiling us. If they did a physical release, I wonder how many they can squeeze on one cartridge?! One maybe? With the rest as DLC?
I'd rather these types of ports skip the Switch entirely. if WB / NetherRealm want income from Switch, they'd be better off giving us the classic entries instead.
I had a really hard time trying to like this back on the PS3 - I'm not sure I persevered more than a few hours, so I'm doubtful if I'll pick this up again.
Here are my confirmed games for this Direct (by my Auntie that works in the Nintendo kitchen on Thursdays) Hotel Mario Sequel Switch Music Shaq Fu 3 Nintendo Labo Star Fox Kit Story of Stardew: Cozy Twilight Harvest Factory Starfield Switch Edition Hentai Shovelware - Deluxe Edition Hentai Shovelware - Complete Edition Hentai Shovelware - Diamond Platinum Edition Metroid Prime Four! (Golf spin-off) Friday the 13th for Switch Online NES Arms DLC
I chose Love - Think I only played against Money 3 times, the rest of the time were Mirror matches, which lead me to believe Love would clearly win the popularity vote. Still missing the Splatfest specific maps... slightly amended rotation stages feels like a bit of a cop-out
@PersianZSR I'm not sure, ask Miyamoto 🤣 Seriously though, I think it could work with very minimal to no dialogue, which could work for a lot of age ranges (similar to the appeal of the Minions really). A cute little tale set in an everyday back garden.
1 shovelware game removed - 12,367,215 left to go... I swear, if I see more 'Special' editions of naff games released every single week, I'll go mad. They use words like Platinum, Gold, Summer, Diamond in the title. No doubt The Last Hope will come back rebranded in some form.
@JONOFTHEJONS By leveling up your season catalog, spending cash at the Shell-Out Machine, Salmon Run Shop, general unlocks as you progress through the game and by the QR codes, like the one above.
So... more or less the same discounts they offer every 1-2 months for the last year then? Excluding the... ahem, let me quietly spit to one side... Cloud Versions of course.
Multiple DLCs and Season Passes for fighting games need to stop. Absolutely pointless dropping stupid amounts of money when the inevitable Ultimate / Deluxe version eventually comes out.
Please understand, whilst we will utilise existing accounts, each one will need to be manually transferred over to the 'New Nintendo Account'. This process will require the use of the Nintendo Switch Online Application, which you will firstly have to upgrade / transfer over to the 'New Nintendo Online Application'. Don't worry though, as this process will feature adorable little Pikmin carrying across your data and will make your old console a paperweight, just like the Wii to Wii U process. Please note, all cloud saves will not be compatible because we have no idea how to offer this service until 2 years after launch, but you will be entitled to a free copy* of Balloon Fight (*free copy will be distributed as part of the 'New Nintendo Online Subscription' which is not to be confused with the old Nintendo Online Subscription)
@RetroGames I agree - it's everything it needed to be; a well crafted fun adventure that never outstays its welcome. Not a massive fan of Illumination's previous entries, but I think the writers / creators did an incredible job. I suspect it helped that Miyamoto was on board to make sure it doesn't stray from the formula and retains that Nintendo magic.
Finally got round to watching it - what a fantastic first outing! Ticked all the right boxes for me, plenty of references, straightforward fun & funnies, well animated and great cast. Looking forward to a sequel, which I'm sure they will do!
Let's be honest, this Phillips CDI remake even fails to create the magic and splendour of Balan Wonderworld.... probably. Yehhhhhh, I haven't played it yet. Still need to finish off BotW! Does make me wonder if a Switch successor is in the pipeline for the next year or two and whether it would run better on that (assuming backwards compatibility & some sort native upscale tech / patch for major games)
Very nice, but I do wish things like this would be kept under wraps for those only just receiving their copy. I don't want all those magic moments spoilt by reading dozens of headlines, so maybe consoldiate them into compilations and try not to give too much away in a headline. I realise this is a minor thing in this case, but I want to keep visting your awesome site without fear of spoilers during these next few weeks ^_^
@Friendly & shoot themselves in the foot during the busiest sales period? Doubt it... They'll probably talk about the successor , if indeed there is one, in Q1 or Q2 2024, right before their year end to boost stock price at the best time to be immortalised in their YE accounts.
@Haruki_NLI Except prices for the Xbox SX and PS5 have actually gone up in price due to rising costs in ICs etc. What Nintendo actually needs is a strong release line-up and the new LoZ will be a good start.

Re: 3DS And Wii U Online Play Ends In "Early April" 2024
Well, at the very least they need to port over the levels / mini-games over from Splatoon 1 to 3 in the DLC.
