Re: Review: Rise Of The Triad: Ludicrous Edition - Definitive, Though Undeniably Dated

sikthvash

It's hard to convert the controls when this game and others of its time were meant for the arrow keys and space bar on a keyboard. That being said, I played the PC version a few weeks ago and it felt OK with WASD and mouse, albeit look movement with the mouse feels superfluous.
This is one of my favourite FPS, but it has undeniably dated somewhat. Good review! Hoping to see the like of Hexen and Heretic brought back at some point.

Re: Random: Fan-Made Nintendo Logo Timeline Is A Superb Look At The Past

I'm so glad they haven't deviated from the classic design we all know and love today. Lots of companies nowadays spend countless resources on rebranding, stating they are going for a modern look, where in my opinion, it's nothing more than over produced tosh akin to garnishing coffees with over zealous pictures made by a hipster barista.

Re: Shuntaro Furukawa: Switch Successor Will Utilise The 'Nintendo Account' System

sikthvash

Please understand, whilst we will utilise existing accounts, each one will need to be manually transferred over to the 'New Nintendo Account'. This process will require the use of the Nintendo Switch Online Application, which you will firstly have to upgrade / transfer over to the 'New Nintendo Online Application'. Don't worry though, as this process will feature adorable little Pikmin carrying across your data and will make your old console a paperweight, just like the Wii to Wii U process. Please note, all cloud saves will not be compatible because we have no idea how to offer this service until 2 years after launch, but you will be entitled to a free copy* of Balloon Fight (*free copy will be distributed as part of the 'New Nintendo Online Subscription' which is not to be confused with the old Nintendo Online Subscription)

@RetroGames I agree - it's everything it needed to be; a well crafted fun adventure that never outstays its welcome. Not a massive fan of Illumination's previous entries, but I think the writers / creators did an incredible job. I suspect it helped that Miyamoto was on board to make sure it doesn't stray from the formula and retains that Nintendo magic.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?

sikthvash

Let's be honest, this Phillips CDI remake even fails to create the magic and splendour of Balan Wonderworld.... probably.
Yehhhhhh, I haven't played it yet. Still need to finish off BotW! Does make me wonder if a Switch successor is in the pipeline for the next year or two and whether it would run better on that (assuming backwards compatibility & some sort native upscale tech / patch for major games)

Re: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom Has Link Humming Classic Tunes As He Cooks

Very nice, but I do wish things like this would be kept under wraps for those only just receiving their copy. I don't want all those magic moments spoilt by reading dozens of headlines, so maybe consoldiate them into compilations and try not to give too much away in a headline. I realise this is a minor thing in this case, but I want to keep visting your awesome site without fear of spoilers during these next few weeks ^_^
