Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch 2 To Launch In June With 3-Phase Software Plan

sikthvash

Again, the official hands-on demonstrations go all the way up to June, I highly doubt it will launch straight after that. These rumours are going to cause a massive drop in share price (& subsequent quick profit for investors) if Nintendo turn round and drop a Q4 release date, which is highly likely. Maybe this is the reason the rumours are dropping; it might be a tactical setup. Happens all the time.

Re: Nintendo Is Discontinuing Gold Points, One Of The Switch's Best Incentives

sikthvash

Hopefully, they might offer new incentives, like discounts on repeat subscriptions and maybe even replace Gold Points with straight-forward credit.... it's either that or, they may offer subscription tiers that offer various perks, or percentage discounts off first party eShop games.
I'm trying to be optimistic, but this is Nintendo after all, gawd bless them.

Re: 'Switch 2' Is Projected To Be The "Clear Winner" In The Next Console Generation

@Rpg-lover I'm worried the successor wont meet the ridiculous hype that people are expecting too.... 4K 60FPS is no way going to happen. A modest improvment to CPU & GPU sure, but it's going to be more of the same with some hopefully minor improvements to Joy-Cons / analog sticks, dock and UI. I'm excited none the less; I'll be buying it regardless of pros & cons, but I'm tempering expectations.

@Rpg-lover I'm not sure if that portable PC market is going to gain a big enough foothold to threaten Nintendo sales, especially seeing as Nvidia's next focus is AI software across a variety of markets to ensure long term growth and stability. Year on year revisions for high-end expensive GPUs is not sustainable and they've not made any significant leaps in high end tech since 2022 with their 4090 model.
For the most part, people buy a Nintendo console for the 1st party content and as a prime entertainment device in their home. Sales are anyones guess and will vary depending on so many factors, but content and marketing are key.
Certainly will be an interesting few years for tech growth!

Re: Opinion: Nintendo Needs To Let Us Block The Crap On Switch 2's eShop

sikthvash

To date, I have now hidden 2931 shovelware items on psprices. So sick of seeing weekly re-re-re-re-releases of 'Diamond', 'Gold', 'Platinum' versions of the same weekly tripe, which takes up so much space in every catergory like Coming Soon, Offers, New Releases etc. That sort of stuff should be banned. So many true indie gems get burried under that trash.

@Not_Soos Excellent points, & the best stance to take on the issues raised. Do love our community here on NL ^_^
Tastless, probably, but then I do think back to Gilbert Godfried and how he got cancelled for telling a 9/11 joke... anyway, I digress. Jack Black was great as Bowser and that was always going to be a job you can't ignore.

Re: New Minecraft Movie Trailer Digs Into Steve's Backstory

Anyone else feel like Jack Black has sold out now? He was supposed to be taking a step back to support his family, but instead he didn't stand up for his buddy Kyle over a comedic response & focused on securing his contracts with Dreamworks etc. I would have much preferred if Jack re-focused on Jablinski Games on YT.

Re: Masahiro Sakurai Confirms He's Working On A New Game

sikthvash

I'm really hoping for something new and exciting. I'm all for the obvious Kid Icarus Uprising remake, or a new entry in Smash further down the line, but I rather let him cook something fresh that might take advantage of the pending new hardware. Either way, so long as he puts his mental and physical health first, that's what's important.

Re: Switch Online's Expansion Pack Promises "Excitement" In 2025

sikthvash

Oooo excitement! So maybe more than 3-4 games every quarter then?
Besides the obvious inclusion of GC games, I would really like to see the back catlaogue fill up some more. Also, some UI improvements to get rid, or alter the borders and to see the back of the stupid user icon in the top left hand corner.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For The Nintendo Museum

sikthvash

A lot of historical sites / places of interest have a seperate audio guide in an app - Nintendo are missing a trick here as they could have used something like that with NFC and have extra fun things to do like a scavenger hunt to find hidden Luigi, Toad or any other characters to unlock around the museum. This could then unlock extras in app as simple as phone wallpaper, or perhaps a token to use at a gatcha machine etc.
