@the_beaver That’s one of this game’s little magic tricks. I did them in a totally different order - Rito, Gerudo, Zora, then I finished with the Gorons - but nothing about my order felt incorrect or weird.
I didn’t hit this point until like 80 hours in, which is longer than I even played Breath of the Wild total, haha.
I think the riddles leading to the Thunderhead Isles began my favorite chunk of the game. The riddles, the islands, gliding down, rebuilding Mineru, straight through to the finale - all perfection.
I’m in the 5-10 hour range, which the poll doesn’t give as an option, haha.
I have a 1 year old, so I game when he’s asleep. Or on break at work. Sometimes I get a day off work when he’s at daycare, but that hasn’t happened yet since the game launched, haha.
FF Collection once it goes the eShop sku goes live on the Target app, so I can utilize my Red Card and employee discount savings. That’ll make the $70+ hurt a little less.
Mega Man Battle Network is tempting, but not right now.
I’ve only dabbled in the series before XI, but I absolutely love that game. Now I’m like 20 hours into DQV, and it is also amazing. I gotta play em all now.
@arekdougy The files can be ripped from his systems and backed up easy enough. But I can’t think of a single 3DS or Wii U title that isn’t already backed up online…
@EndOfLevelBoss I don’t usually play card games, but I loved this one. The building aspect isn’t too complicated. You’ll quickly figure out what works well for you and what doesn’t.
@Shambo Modern games not having manuals is a big part of why I’m 100% digital these days. That plus the huge installations and patches that most non-Switch games require.
If I’m gonna buy a case that has nothing but a game in it, at least put the game on the disc…
@Nintendo_Thumb That was what happened to me when it released. I was like 12 and I LOVED Metal Gear Solid. I skipped the GBC game because I thought it was a watered down port. I wish I knew better.
@RudeAnimat0r Yeah, the Vita was amazing for indies. I love that thing. I just think it’s strange that this very popular indie never ended up anywhere else besides Vita and PC until now.
It’s so strange that this has been ported to Vita before anything else. And the Vita version isn’t that great - nothing fits the screen as nicely as it does on PC.
I’m glad the mobile port seems to look a bit easier to play than that Vita version. A console version would be best though…
@fenlix I would definitely consider the original a cult classic.
I wanted this game to get a US localization way back when I was a kid in the late 90’s. Magazines and websites would talk about the game, but it seemed destined to never leave Japan.
Then a couple years later when the fan translation first released, the hype online throughout JRPG communities was so strong. I can’t remember any other fan translations getting this much buzz besides Mother 3.
I can’t believe we’re getting an official release of Live A Live in English this week. I never thought this would happen.
The first way is the only correct way. Squaresoft used to say it that way, the Nintendo Direct said it that way, even the katakana on the original box says it that way.

The trailer really interested me, despite how much I suck at traditional chess.

This is my most anticipated game of the year. I can’t wait, but luckily I don’t have to for much longer.

Re: Triangle Strategy's First Update In Over A Year Adds Extra Story Epilogue
I love this game, but I didn’t get the golden route ending. I guess this epilogue isn’t for me, dang.
As for people talking crap on its title ….really? There’s so many actual bad titles out there. At least this one makes sense in context.
Re: Random: Indie Game Blocked By Nintendo Over Confusion On Microtransactions
Yo, they got Jer/Skatune Network on the soundtrack?? That’s cool.

Re: Official Nintendo Switch SD Card Line Expands With 1TB Zelda Card And Cute Yoshi Design
$150 for 1TB is mind boggling. I’m gonna sound like an old man here, but I still remember saving $120 for my 1GB card on PSP.

Re: Fire Emblem Engage Launch Day Update Now Available, Here Are The Patch Notes
I’m still undecided on getting the DLC. Maybe when the later waves start releasing.
Re: Poll: Kazuya & Sephiroth Smash amiibo Now Available, Will You Be Getting Them?
I grabbed a Sephiroth for me and a second for a friend. That went easier than expected.
Re: Kazuya & Sephiroth Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo Are Already Appearing In The Wild
@dimi They will be in retail stores for sure, and I’d also expect some limited online availability tomorrow as well.
Re: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot DLC Trailer Teases 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament Arc

I have no need for these….but I have a lot of coins in my account, nothing to spend them on, and I’m just excited to see Earthbound merch!

Looks good. I miss Danganronpa, so I’ll definitely check this out.

Re: Review: Inscryption - This Ingeniously Devilish Deck-Builder Is Still Ace On Switch
@Zach777 That’s the file icon on PlayStation as well. It makes sense in the context of the game.
Re: Nintendo Download: 1st December (North America)
I just played Inscryption on PS5, and it certainly lived up to the hype.
Re: Totally New 30-Second Super Mario Movie Trailer Appears Out Of Nowhere
@Slinkoy1 Nah, I’m with you on this.
Re: Nintendo Launches Huge Cyber Deals Sale Starting Today, Up To 50% Off Switch eShop Games (North America)

@abdias I have only played the PS5 port, and they made that stuff work really well.
Re: Critically Acclaimed 'Inscryption' Draws December Release Date On Switch
@Specters I played it on PS5, and the mod was unlocked after I beat the main game.
Re: Critically Acclaimed 'Inscryption' Draws December Release Date On Switch
I just played this on PS5. Certainly lives up to the hype.
Re: Bayonetta 3 Gets Day One Update, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@Bunkerneath Day one patches and cases having nothing in them except the game card or disc are the things that pushed me away from physical.
Switching to digital only has been nice. My only physical Switch game is Ring Fit Adventure, because you kinda have no other choice there.

Re: Review: Tunic - Old-School Adventuring With Nods To Zelda, Unforgiving And Ingenious
I’m trying to decide between Switch for portability vs PS5 for best performance. Either way, I’m buying this today.
Re: You Can Now Play NES Games On The Analogue Pocket
My Analogue Pocket gets better every week.
Re: Random: This Fan Found A Sealed Copy Of Nintendo Power #1 - Should He Open It?
Open it. It’s a magazine. It exists to be read.
I hate the “but it’s worth money!!” mentality.
Re: Poll: What Switch Online N64 Game Are You Most Excited About?
I’m surprisingly excited to play the Goldeneye single player mode. It’s been a loooooong time since I played that game.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Metal Gear: Ghost Babel
Also I love the CODEC chatter. This is great, haha.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Metal Gear: Ghost Babel

Re: Introducing 'RoTATE' - A New Desktop Stand & Kickstarter Project For Switch
@Tangerine Poinpy is wonderful.
Re: Made In Abyss Trailer Showcases Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Similarities
@Bizzyb The game is rated M for violence, blood, and gore. Doesn’t sound toned down to me.
Re: Kirby And The Forgotten Land Becomes The Second Best-Selling Kirby Game Ever
This game deserves the success. It rules. Forgotten Land is right up their with Planet Robobot as my favorite Kirbys.

Re: Poll: What Order Should You Play Live A Live In? And Does It Even Matter?
@SteamEngenius It’s not $60….but I would have certainly paid that if it was.
Re: Poll: What Order Should You Play Live A Live In? And Does It Even Matter?
@theberrage Live A Live rhymes with Jive A Jive.
That’s how the Japanese title is written, and it’s how Nintendo pronounced it on the Direct that announced this release.
Re: Where To Buy 'Live A Live' On Switch
I got it digital from Target with my employee discount and my RedCard discount.
Not every game is available to buy from Target digitally, so I’m always pumped when one I want is.
Re: Review: Live A Live - A Brilliantly Faithful Remake Of A Unique And Influential JRPG
@Baler Yeah, Triangle Strategy released back in the Spring. It’s very good, if you’re into strategy RPGs. Try out the long demo if you’re curious.

Re: Review: Cuphead - The Delicious Last Course - Short, Sweet, And Utterly Essential
@tankymctankus A game being short is almost always a bonus for me. I can only handle so many 50+ hour games a year.
Re: Indie RPG Sea Of Stars Has Been Delayed To Next Year
@boatie Your loss. This game is shaping up to be pretty dang good.
