I didn’t intend to buy one right away, but I work at Target and we got some more in on Monday. Still had some left when I came into work on Tuesday, so I caved and bought one.

I LOVE this thing. It’s a really nice upgrade when I’m playing in handheld mode.

@MARl0 I didn’t have any issues at launch on PS5, so I googled this just now. Looks like random users had issues and others did not. Weird stuff.

@Tuulenpoika I believe Nick Robinson is like 95% responsible for this release.

@SwitchForce Yes, there is a demo. I was interested when I saw the trailer, but the demo definitely 100% sold me on this game.

@Deady That’s weird! Monster Train got a lot of attention from other sites and some podcasts I listen to.

I kinda didn’t realize the Switch version had released, because of the lack of coverage here. Oops, haha.

@HamatoYoshi I wonder if that weird embargo rule is why IGN just made their policy clear that they will actively ignore embargoes that lift after release.

@WiltonRoots Yeah, this is the absolute first time I’m hearing about “sixtydollargate,” and I happily bought the game at launch.

This is the first time in forever when I couldn’t select every game I intend to purchase in the poll. What an absolutely overwhelming release week.

I love it.

@The_New_Butler Picross DS had touch controls, and I always felt like that was the far inferior way to play it. The only one that made sense to me on the touch screen was Picross 3D.

The Target I work at still has set locations for both on the front endcap of video games. I’ve never seen anything get front endcap spaces for so long! Especially not discontinued products like these. It’s nuts.

Also, we have tons of 3D All-Stars and mountains of the Game & Watch.

@Onkel_Laser The release posts cover Thursday through Wednesday. Ace Attorney is out on Tuesday, so by next Thursday it will have already released.

@Dragwhite Keep at it with V3. That one gets pretty crazy.

@Williamfuchs420 Nintendo’s update day has been Thursday for awhile. I think it was Friday before that and it switched at some point in the Wii U era.

Now that games release literally every day of the week, it doesn’t really matter much. But the big “update day” is still Thursday regardless.

I’m pretty excited for this one! I didn’t expect a sequel ever, but I’ll gladly play it.

@the_beaver Yeah, the battle system is so fun! It looked kinda messy in the trailers I’ve seen.

I love the original, but I was a little concerned about how this one was looking in trailers. Glad to say the demo has fully turned me around.

Definite day one purchase.

@Anti-Matter It’s tearing up the UK charts though. Not sure about how it’s selling elsewhere. Debuted at #1 there, and had a better second week than first. Not too shabby.

I love Pro Skater 1-4 and THUG 1, but the best versions of these games were never on Nintendo consoles. The GBA versions were neat, but they played completely differently.

They need to start localizing Tokimeki Memorial games.

My Switch is 100% all digital, but I can’t resist a new game from the Gato Roboto team. That game rules. I’m in.

I’ve spent the most hours on Super Dodgeball, Mario’s Picross, and Super Mario Kart. Not my overall favorites of those eras, but they definitely keep me hooked.

I mostly just replay sidescrollers and games I played as a kid. Shovel Knight and Tony Hawk 2 were constantly in my rotation for awhile.

I played the 2 Curse of the Night games before I played Ritual, and Ritual really suffered as a result. Both Curse titles are such flawlessly throwbacks and Ritual was just alright. Kinda janky, sometimes really ugly.

Still fun though. I’ll play a sequel.

@Heavyarms55 Yeah, I listen to records. A good record player with some nice speakers is the best way to listen to music.

My job gave me $75 to get vaccinated. I was gonna anyway, but I’m not gonna turn down $75.

@Torn Steins;Gate is one of the best VN of all time. Not Steins;Gate 0.

Steins;Gate 0 is fun, but it’s kinda weird. It’s a sequel to one of the bad endings in regular S;G, so I never really felt like the plot mattered. And it didn’t hit the same emotional beats for me that the original does so well.

But man, I love the original Steins;Gate. The game and anime are both exceptional.

@Not_Soos Phoenix Wright games are like visual novel mixed with old school point and click adventure games. They’re very very good, if that sounds like something you’d be into.

@mrchills That’s an awesome game description. Tells you everything you need to know, while staying in character the whole time. And it costs $6.66! I love it, haha.

As a Target employee, this is wonderful news. The scalpers are a dangerous nuisance in my store.

Stalking our card vendors, annoying our customers, and being rude to our staff are a few of their favorite things.

@sheriff it’s still absolutely shocking that the Danganronpa series isn’t available on everything at this point. Best reasons to own a Vita.

@nessisonett I had no idea these remakes were made by MAGES until now. I’m even more excited.

My local comic shop ordered big on this, had a strict “one per customer” limit, and still sold out of copies.

I guess combining Batman and Fortnite is a surefire way to sell some comics.

I already own Fez and There Is No Game elsewhere, and I highly recommend them both.

@Noid I love the first two games, and I wouldn’t call them auto-runners really. More like Sonic meets Tony Hawk. They’re a lot of fun.

I bought this on my phone just a week ago. It’s great, but I would have waited if I knew it was coming to Switch!

@Ahlvin23 If you watched the anime, you should be good. I did feel like the game went quite a bit deeper, but that’s usually the case with visual novels. Both the Steins;Gate game and anime are fantastic.

I think you’re right that the original version isn’t on Switch. Just the version that splices in anime scenes.

@Ahlvin23 You played Steins;Gate Zero, so you played regular Steins;Gate as well, correct? Juuuust making sure.

That’s not a lot of bonus content for $20, so I think I’ll be just fine with the regular digital copy. Glad it’s finally got a date!

@jon625 Don’t be intimidated. Breath of the Wild is only 100+ hours long if you want to 100% it. I think I beat it in about 40, then kept playing until like 65 hours or so.

Holy crap, they did the Hatsune Miku Domino’s Pizza app. I did not expect that one.

Somewhere between expectations met and blown away. I really enjoyed this Direct, and it had a lot of cool surprises.

@GrailUK It’s very good and very difficult. Worthy of being a numbered Crash game.

Easily still one of my favorite Mario games. Starts off too easy, but then it quickly becomes perfect.

@Scottwood101 I’m only a few chapters in, but it definitely feels tough but fair. Every death made sense, and I never felt frustrated by anything. It’s just a lot of fun.

Oh man, this is awesome. I love Celeste (both the regular and PICO versions), so this is a very nice surprise.
