Also, ads seem pretty bad on this post. There’s SO many. And uhh...half of them are advertising a “4 hour stiffy.” Viagara substitutes in an ad on a Nintendo site? Kinda weird.
@KingMike I always loved the Phalanx cover art, even when it first came out. It’s a fun way to show the ship fighting in space from an Earth perspective. I never understood why that was so reviled.
@luke88 Honestly by the end of SnipperClips, my wife and I had had enough. We usually fare well with puzzly co-op games (Portal 2 was our favorite one to play together), but the final world of SnipperClips just drove us crazy.
Solving a level no longer felt good, we would just be relieved that it was over.
Neo Cab is on the Apple Arcade storefront. First month is free, so you could easily play that and Sayonara Wild Hearts on there within the trial period, if you use any iOS devices.
Sayonara Wild Hearts also launches free (with subscription) on Apple Arcade today. I believe Arcade launches with a free trial period...makes me second guess before buying it on Switch.
Anyways, there’s a LOT of good stuff this week on the eShop, jeez!
@Dang69 This is why I wish reviews didn’t have numbers. IGN gave it a 7.9, which is a pretty high score. Practically an 8! They really enjoyed it. IGN’s 7.9 review and NL’s 9 review both say to me the same thing - the reviewers dug the game.
Both reviews give me confidence in my desire to purchase this game. Neither one seems “overhyped” to me.
@Rayquaza2510 It was initially only a mobile game. The developer specifically made it for the Japanese mobile market, before it launched on mobile and PC simultaneously in the US. It’s definitely a mobile game.
@victordamazio There’s two more expansions left in SK (King of Cards and Showdown, to be released simultaneously).....after that I imagine they’re ready to work on anything else but Shovel Knight 2. This has been their main project for such a long time now.
Double Fine just recently said that they don’t plan to stop producing titles for other consoles, and that their recent acquisition by Xbox doesn’t change their plans.
Weird that this article puts them in with the companies that are apparently going to be moving to just Xbox development after their prior commitments are taken care of.
@Xelha Switch voucher saved me $10 and netted me back $2.50 in gold coins, then double coins would net me back another $6 in gold coins, instead of the usual $3.
I don’t think buying physical would be better than $10 off and $8.50 in gold coins.
I play my Switch in handheld mode a lot and I’ve never been bothered by the battery life. If I ever get kinda low and I’m not able to charge, I pop on Airplane Mode.
And none of my Joy-Cons drift, so I don’t need to replace those either.
My dock does scratch my screen actually, but I already took care of that with a dock sock from Etsy, haha.
This is totally not for me. Maybe next year we’ll see a souped up Switch model.
Anybody here who listens to Sacred Symbols should be pleasantly surprised to see Fell Seal on Switch. Colin has been calling that his game of the year for the last few months.
I think I would be more inclined to buy it immediately if I didn’t already have Fire Emblem to play...
@Xombie13 They didn’t cancel them though. The day they announced them in the first place, they also said it was a limited time offer in the US “ending on July 31.”

Re: Nintendo Download: 10th October (North America)
@cyrus_zuo It’s 8 players local with 2 Switch systems. Between 8 people, I would imagine you know 2 with Switches. Maybe?
In my friend group, even the non-gamers own a Switch at this point. It’s getting weird, haha.
Re: Nintendo Download: 10th October (North America)
Killer Queen Black, finally!!!

Re: Feature: 10 Of The Worst Nintendo Game Covers Ever
@koaeinferno ARMS is a very good game with a totally fine box art though.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th September (North America)
Neo Cab is on Apple Arcade, so I’ll just play that there. DQ1,2,3,XI, Ori, and Luminous Avenger iX for me.
Re: King Of Cards And Showdown "Will Be The End Of Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove"
Stoked for King of Cards and Showdown. And those Amiibo that I preordered like 18 months ago, haha.
Shovel Knight is a masterpiece. I can’t wait to see what Yacht Club brings us next.
Re: Super Mario Odyssey's Pauline Makes Her Mario Kart Debut Tomorrow
@Mr_Muscle She was. The article mentions that too.

Re: If You Want NieR: Automata Ported To Nintendo Switch "Please Ask Square Enix"
I LOVE Nier Automata. It’s one of my favorite games of the last decade, easily.
But it kinda runs like butt on PS4 sometimes. I don’t usually notice frame rate drops unless they’re bad, and I noticed them a LOT in Automata.
I can’t imagine it would run acceptably on Switch unless they retuned the whole game and drastically downgraded the graphics.
Re: Review: Sayonara Wild Hearts - A Marvellous, Music-Driven Masterpiece
@Dang69 Brian would definitely give it an automatic 11/10, haha. He’s helping with the wiki guide instead.
Re: Review: Sayonara Wild Hearts - A Marvellous, Music-Driven Masterpiece
@Dang69 I do also quite like IGN reviews. I feel that they usually do a wonderful job of explaining whether or not I’ll like something.
I guess it also helps that I know which of their writers most correspond with my interests, thanks to their many podcasts.

Re: Reminder: You Have Just One Week To Claim Your Nintendo Switch Online Sub With Twitch Prime
@holygeez03 Thanks for the tip. I have a buddy who streams, so I’ll sub her channel. (littleredkat, if you’re looking for someone to follow! Haha)
Re: Video: New Zelda: Link's Awakening Story Trailer Shows Off Stunningly Beautiful Gameplay
@RickD I hear the main story mode is practically identical to the original...so like 15 hours or so on average.
I’m so pumped to play this. Link’s Awakening is probably my favorite overall Zelda.
Re: Reminder: You Have Just One Week To Claim Your Nintendo Switch Online Sub With Twitch Prime
Wait...I have Amazon Prime but no interest in Twitch. Do I just automatically have Twitch? So I could take advantage of this deal? Hmmmm
Re: Review: AI: The Somnium Files - Another Gem From The Creator Of The Zero Escape Series
@Dazzle You ever try one? It’s kind of weird to dismiss a whole genre so easily.
Re: Review: AI: The Somnium Files - Another Gem From The Creator Of The Zero Escape Series
I see Uchikoshi’s name on something, I play it. Stoked for this one.
Re: Nintendo Download: 12th September (North America)
Finally time for AI: The Somnium Files....right in the middle of like a million other games I want. Ughhhh
Re: Physical Pre-Orders For Downwell On Nintendo Switch Go Live Next Week
@Rayquaza2510 It was initially only a mobile game. The developer specifically made it for the Japanese mobile market, before it launched on mobile and PC simultaneously in the US. It’s definitely a mobile game.
A really really good mobile game.
Re: Pop Album Video Game Sayonara Wild Hearts Launches On 19th September
@Heavyarms55 This is not that, but it is a really cool looking game that I’ve been waiting for a release date on for a long long time now.
Stoked this is finally coming so soon, but there’s so much to play right now.
Re: GameStop Set To Close 180 - 200 "Underperforming" Stores This Fiscal Year
@graysoncharles Believe it or not, this will still leave them with 5,000+ stores.
Re: Poll: So, Which SNES Games Have You Been Playing On Nintendo Switch?
I’ve dabbled in all of them. I’ve mostly been playing Link to the Past, Super Mario Kart, Yoshi’s Island, and Puyo Puyo 2 though.
It’s cutting into my Fire Emblem time pretty brutally, haha. Oh well.
Re: Trials Of Mana Remake Headed To Nintendo Switch Next Year
I love the vibe of this whole remake. Including the kinda bad voice acting. I don’t know why, but that’s working for me.
Re: Return Of The Obra Dinn Drifts Onto Nintendo Switch Later This Year
I have been awaiting a console release. Waiting paid off!!
Re: Hands On: Sayonara Wild Hearts Is Pop Perfection In Video Game Form
I’ve been waiting for this game since Kinda Funny revealed it back in like January. I hope we get a release date soon!
Re: Nintendo Direct Confirmed For Tomorrow, 4th September
Hey cool, on my wedding anniversary! I hope there’s some nice gifts in this Direct, Nintendo!
Re: Talking Point: With Overwatch Apparently Switch-Bound, The Future's Bright For Blizzard And Nintendo
Overwatch coming to Switch would make the D.Va in Smash rumor a lot more believable.
Re: Yacht Club Games Broadcasting A Special Video Presentation Next Week
@victordamazio There’s two more expansions left in SK (King of Cards and Showdown, to be released simultaneously).....after that I imagine they’re ready to work on anything else but Shovel Knight 2. This has been their main project for such a long time now.
Re: Yacht Club Games Broadcasting A Special Video Presentation Next Week
“King of Cards and Showdown are.....available right now! Amiibos are shipping now!”
That’s what I wanna hear.
Re: Square Enix Confirms Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Will Be A Digital-Only Release
@BlackenedHalo ...I don’t follow what you’re saying. Those were remastered games, just like this one. Right?
Re: Square Enix Confirms Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Will Be A Digital-Only Release
@Yosher I’m 100% digital only these days, but even I kind of dread an all-digital future. People should have the convenience of options.
Re: Square Enix Confirms Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Will Be A Digital-Only Release
FFVII and IX remastered were never physical...why did anyone think this one would be any different?
Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd August (North America)
I got the DQ demo yesterday....I already have Superhot and the Hotline Miami games elsewhere, but they’re tempting.
The Grandia collection is tempting too. I haven’t played those again since they were new.
VICE seems pretty cool too. Played the first few levels last night.
Good week.
Re: Creature In The Well's Pinball / Hack-And-Slash Mash Surfaces In September
I’ve been waiting for this one. Looks real good!
Re: Freedom Finger Puts A Musical Spin On The Shmup Genre In September
@Bunkerneath I know two of the bands/musicians/whatever. What do I win??

I just hope the US gets the double coin deal.
Re: Stylish Shooter Superhot Takes Aim At Nintendo Switch Today
@Wazeddie22 It’s a mostly different game than Superhot VR. I’ve played them both, and they’re both great.
Re: The Touryst Will Bring Blocky Adventure To The Switch Soon
This looks great!
Re: Eastward Is Bringing A Lovely-Looking Apocalypse To Switch Next Year
This looks AWESOME.
Re: WayForward Reveals Shantae And The Seven Sirens, The Half-Genie Hero's Next Adventure
Hey cool, I haven’t played a Shantae game since Risky’s Revenge on DSiWare. I think I’m ready to play another one now, haha.

Re: Two More NES Games Join The Nintendo Switch Online Service In August
I was bummed until I saw the Kunio game. I’ll check that one out at least.
Re: Nintendo Download: 8th August (North America)
Anybody here who listens to Sacred Symbols should be pleasantly surprised to see Fell Seal on Switch. Colin has been calling that his game of the year for the last few months.
I think I would be more inclined to buy it immediately if I didn’t already have Fire Emblem to play...
Re: More Pokémon Sword And Shield Info To Be Dropped On 7th August
I’m not watching anymore footage. I just want it.
Re: Retro Shooter Jamestown+ Lands On Nintendo Switch Later This Year
I got this free in a Humble Bundle years ago, and it was a lot of fun. I don’t like gaming on my PC, so maybe I’ll buy it on Switch now.
Re: Nintendo's Digital Sales See A Whopping Year-On-Year Jump
@Xombie13 They didn’t cancel them though. The day they announced them in the first place, they also said it was a limited time offer in the US “ending on July 31.”
I’m bummed about it, because I’m 100% digital on Switch and I buy a lot of first party titles at full price. Hopefully they bring vouchers back every so often.
Re: Reminder: This Is Your Last Chance To Buy Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers (North America)
@Tantani It’s pretty much all first party $60 games...and I want a whole bunch of those, haha. I’ll use these vouchers easily.
