@Noid My best guess would be that they prioritised Mario, for obvious reasons, but are leaving themselves an option to add content later based on other properties.
While everyone goes wah wha wha about freedom of expression and hand wringing about what the world is coming to, This basically amounts to the devs going, " Oh crap! thats not what we meant to say at all!"
Creatives need feedback, just like anyone else. When you find out that you did not achieve your intention, you fix it. So the outcome will be closer to what they intended, based on user feedback.
Lots of positive comments here. I have a question: Despite really looking forward to it, I personally found Jotun to be extremely disappointing. The visuals were great, but I thought the gameplay was dull and repetitive. is it worth taking a risk on Spirit Farer?
@FantasiaWHT Thanks! Good point - I didn't notice there was a demo, we'll try that. She's actually busy gettign to grips with Breath of the Wild, but mainly to ride a horse around so controls should be ok
Here’s a neat study. The South African store just raised the price of new games by over 20%. Presumably to be equivalent to the rest of the world taking exchange rates into account. Problem is that is too much of an increase, especially right now. I can’t really justify buying new games anymore.
I’d love to see sales data for the SA store. I’m pretty certain I’m not the only one who will simply stop buying new releases, and reduce my overall purchases. I have a budget for games. My spending won’t go up, but will in fact likely go down based on the value I receive.
Until they're legally required to cancel the event, they will not be able to collect on insurance. If they cannot collect on insurance it will be financially disastrous. As in they may never be able to hold another event. This underpins the cancellation of all the recent events. They're not cheap.
Zero Wing, Truxton, and Hellfire are all games that defined the Mega Drive for me, and are some of the games I'm proudest to have beaten. Love every one, this is fantastic news!
I did not actually know they were all made by Toaplan!
Tired the demo of 6, which I've always been tempted by. The motion controls would surely help, but if the demo is remotely reflective of the overall game, its a worse game than I'd heard.
No scanlines basically kills my interest. For me these games just don't look right without CRT filters. I was so looking forward to this, as I'm a huge Mega Drive fan, but now its just not as good as the retropie pirate box I already have. So disappointing.
[Edit] But wait: according to Destructoid there is a CRT filter....
Not only do I appreciate shorter games in general, but my experience of Mutant Blobs when I played it on Vita was that it was over just before it got boring and repetitive.
"Still, once the end credits roll there's little reason to return, and that certainly counts against the game."
Totally disagree with this sentiment. I hate the idea that games need to keep you hooked and coming back. It's the underlying principle of the worst elements in modern gaming.
I have a busy life and a lot of games to play in my very limited spare time. I want more games to be done when I finish them. Especially when they're cheap and brilliant.
What I think is a real shame is that they used that body shape and did it digitally. If he's gonna look like that, why not go all the way to a rubber suit, it would be so much cooler. Well maybe not cooler, but I would just love that.
The point is not to have a physical game, but to have shelf space in stores. Because of selling things to make money. Shocking but true - gamers obsessed with collecting plastic don't matter as much as selling. It's very practical.
Everyone seems to think this is a censorship debate. I guess it is in a way, but I recon its really about sales. Highly sexualised content is increasingly niche. Soften (har har) the sexual content and the game is opened to a wider market and more sales. Its business, not a morality judgement.
Any opinions on the 8Bitdo NES30 Arcade Stick? I read varying reviews with some saying its brilliant and others talking about input lag and connectivity issues.
Keen on getting one, but importing to South Africa makes it a hell of an investment.

Not South Africa either.
Re: Neo Geo Shmup Andro Dunos Is Getting A Switch-Based Sequel
Might not be on the top of your list, but the original is one of my favorite Neo Geo shooters. Super excited for this!
Re: Nintendo Download: 17th September (Europe)
I would like to know more about why Space Elite Force looks so very much like Steredenn.
Like a more pixelated version, including the bosses. Is there a relationship between the games?
Re: Puma Looks Ready To Pounce On Super Mario's 35th Anniversary With Some Nintendo-Branded Sneakers
I love them but they're really more Sonic, which is weird.

@Provanities Thanks for the reply, that makes me much more interested.
Re: Review: Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition - A Weak RPG Enlivened By Nostalgia
Never played this, but I would.love Crystal Bearers to make a comeback. I know this is not realistic, but I think it's massively underrated.

@ricklongo Thanks! thats great info

Re: Co-Op Open-World RPG Cat Quest II Receives Huge, Free Update
@FantasiaWHT and @LEGEND_MARIOID - would you say this is fun for a 6 year old? I've been looking for something new to play with my daughter.
Re: Ikaruga's Physical Release Will Launch This Year In The West, Next Month In Japan
Still can’t bring myself to buy anything from Nicalis.
Re: Nintendo Download: 30th July (Europe)
Good to see those Capcom titles back to their normal price. I'm always confused when they occasionally double the price for a short time.

Re: Switch Fighter Aims To Turn Your Switch Into A Table-Top Arcade System
Nice to have on the go, but I recently got a Gbros adapter to make my Tatsunoko vs Capcom arcade stick useful again.
And its brilliant!
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #46 - Sonic The Hedgehog 3
In South Africa we got ‘Asia outside Japan’, which looks best to me, maybe just for nostalgia.
Re: Can You Name These Third-Party Nintendo Games From Just Their Box Art?
I wish there could be a new Metal Arms game. It’s just fantastic.
Re: Review: Huntdown - A Gloriously Gory Run 'N Gun Blaster
It must be such a pain hand drawing pixel art. Imagine having to get all those little squares straight...
Re: Thunder Force AC Is Hitting The Nintendo Switch eShop This Week
Ironically I used to power my way through games like this as a kid, but kids mode is going to be a life saver now that I'm old and grey.
Re: 8-Bit Brawler Jay And Silent Bob: Mall Brawl Gets Its Own Switch eShop Release Next Week
Hell of a time to release a brawler.

Kickstarter is such a great platform for helping small unknown companies find an audience for developing new IP.
Re: QubicGames Is Giving Away 10 Free Nintendo Switch Games To Everyone, Including You
That is some genius marketing right there.
Not really interested in the games though.

Re: Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered Busts Onto Switch Later This Year
Brilliant - I only ever played the Wii version. Day one for Harold Ramis alone!
Re: Review: Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons - A Welcome Return Of An Indie Classic
I enjoyed this so much right up till the ending. The ending forced me to do things I really did not want to do. It felt really badly designed.

Re: Review: Team Sonic Racing - A Safe Effort Which Lags Well Behind Mario Kart 8
Well it ISN'T something I already played to death on Wii U, so that alone makes it pretty interesting to me!
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Takes A Technical Look At Zelda And Mario Odyssey In VR
Technical point, it's not motion sickness, it's simulation sickness. Similar but works kind of in reverse.

Personally I'm still so attached tot he original Mega Drive controller, which I loved dearly. I never had one of these, but I'm glad to hear is great.
