That header looks like 3 kids who never touched a 3DS before the shoot, and one kid waiting for it to be over so he can facepalm harder then he's ever facepalmed before.
As a dad with limited access to the TV, I love that in a sense its a Super Wii U: with off -tv play that has a far superior looking screen and can go anywhere. But unless they can make the portable aspect compelling in terms of gameplay, many users will be paying a lot for hardware they will never use. In other words there could be a far cheaper model that is just a standard console and would give you living room access to the same games.
Which is to say that in terms of cost /value for many users, its even worse than Wii U, because the screen has no purpose at all if you're playing on the TV.
I've not bothered with it yet. Nintendo's poor profile management has made it too frustrating for me to bother.
Back before they had any online presence in South Africa I created a UK account. I now have a South African account as well . So all of my old games were bought and registered on my UK account, the UK account is still the active one on my 3DS, because otherwise I would lose all of my save games. I also still use my UK profile to play games on my Wii U so that all of my saves are on one account and I don't need to think about where I played what.
But Nintendo is unable to unify these accounts without me losing access to some of my games (they tell me), and all of my 3ds saves. So, er, no thanks.
Could still just register one for My Nintendo, but kind of lost interest after all that. There's nothing much compelling about it anyway.
I eventually caved and got Steamworld Heist on a PSN sale. I must say I got bored very quickly. Which is a shame, since I thought Steamworld Dig was incredible. Heist seems like a good game, all the bits are there, I just couldn't get into it.
I was interested in River City, but damn that's a bit pricey...
That's a great one, although I must admit that I prefer Thunderforce 4, possibly because of the spectacle, rather than the gameplay actually being better.
I remember always being amazed that this service existed. And was slightly jealous of those that could use it, since it was not available where I live , at least not without international call rates.
What a shame . I'd love to get a suitable game for my 2yr old. She's dying to play, but when I let her hold the controller she mainly just dies. Pokken tournament in practice mode is good though.
Anyone not licencing assets is not being very smart. Especially Indies. Unity has three major drawcards. It's free to start, it has an awesome community, and the asset store. This is now true for several other platforms as well.
As for quality? The market dictates what can survive.
I will be very sad to not have a second screen available. As a guy with a family, much of my gaming is on the gamepad screen, while Sarah and Duck is being watched on the TV

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch Game Cards Limited To 16GB Size
This is the worst clickbait I've seen on Nintendolife. Really embarrassing fro what is normally a pretty good site.
Worse, its been called out by multiple users in the comments, yet the normally active staff are nowhere to be seen.

Re: Nintendo Will Continue To Develop 3DS Software After Switch Launch
Consumers would realise very quickly that Switch is different from the 3DS when they see how much it costs!

I wonder what this means for Zelda. Which will be the best version?

Re: Video: Let's See How That Xbox One N64 Emulator Held Up
@yomanation Good times my Project 64 obsessions were Ocarina of Time and Extreme G.
Re: Video: Let's See How That Xbox One N64 Emulator Held Up
I had near perfect N64 emulation running on my old Pentium 3 back in 2001.
It was actually how I got back into gaming toward the end of a few years of not being able to afford anything game related.
Re: Nintendo Download: 29th September (Europe)
@JacquesLecornu Not sure about retail, just imagined it would be cheaper, more in line with Gunvolt (which I will now get first )

Re: Review: Games For Toddlers (Wii U eShop)
@vincentgoodwin hey, thanks. I must check out Sesame Street, had not thought of that

Re: Poll: The GameCube is 15 Years Old - Pick Your Favourite Games
Not nearly enough mention of Metal Arms. Utterly fantastic. Have always wished for a sequel. Personal favorite game played on GameCube.
Admittedly I played resi 4 and the prime games on Wii
Re: Industry Veteran Interplay Puts Its Entire Library Of Properties Up For Sale
The Adventure s of Rad Gravity! If someone else doesn't do something about that, I just might. It's an amazing and forgotten gem of a game!
Re: Wii U Version Of Hyper Light Drifter Is Officially Cancelled
What a shame, but understandable.
Worth getting any way you can though. One of my favorite games this year.

that header really makes me want an HD Prime!

Re: This Cart Could Contain The First Code Satoru Iwata Ever Wrote For Nintendo
Mr Destructoid?! Is that you ?
Re: Axiom Verge Heading to the Wii U eShop on 1st September
I would love to get it on Wii U, but its so cheap on PS now its going to be hard to justify, until its on a very good sale.
Re: Video: Exploring The Funky Inspiration for the Super Mario Bros. Underground Theme
Didn't Led Zeppelin just prove in court that this can only be coincidence?
Re: Hands On: Squashing Space Pirates in Metroid Prime: Federation Force
I wonder how it will play on old hardware. I have no intention to buy a New 3DS at this late point.
Re: New NES Mini Console Won't Get More Games, Cartridge Slot To Remain Shut For All Eternity
I must admit that I am surprised by the positivity here. With a fixed set of games I just don't see the point.
Re: 2D Shooter And Adventure Mash-Up Starr Mazer Confirmed For Wii U And 3DS Release
I hope the point and click uses the gamepad screen. Will be much more immediate and fun than using a stick
Either way it looks great though
Re: Pokémon GO Plus Pre-Orders Open on Official Nintendo UK Store, Priced at £34.99
Pro tip: that is not the same price
Re: Dual Core Gets European Release Date Along With Update in North America
This looks great! Somehow it had passed me by til now.
Re: Video: SEGA Heats Up the 3DS With Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice E3 Trailer
Let us not forget that theWii U version was broken and underdeveloped. The 3ds version just sucked.
Re: Nintendo Announces E3 eShop Discount Plans and Miitomo x The Legend of Zelda Promotion
What contract?
Re: Video: Weep with Us Over these Top Five Gaming Series that Ain't What They Used to Be
Resident Evil Revelations 1 was pretty good, and 2 is one of my top two Resistors games.
I enjoyed Sonic Lost World more than any Sonic game since the Mega Drive.
So no. Bad list, no biscuit!
Too late...
Re: Police Officer Generously Donates Treasured Pokémon Cards To Boy Whose Collection Was Stolen
@helbertpina That is a fantastic idea!
Re: Police Officer Generously Donates Treasured Pokémon Cards To Boy Whose Collection Was Stolen
This is the best story I've heard in a long time. Just a great thing to do.
Re: Random: Store Shelves Appear To Be Filling With Pre-Owned Copies Of Star Fox Zero
got it, love it, will keep it forever.
Re: The League of Evil is Double-Jumping Over to Wii U and 3DS eShop
looks cool, but very, very repetitive.
Re: Editorial: Fire Emblem Fates and Code Name S.T.E.A.M., Two Very Different Intelligent Systems Ventures
I was so looking forward to Codename STEAM, but the characters really irritated me in the demo, to the point that I felt no urge to play it at all.
Re: Shigeru Miyamoto and Yugo Hayashi Discuss Star Fox Zero's Development
Personally I think the controls are great. Really fun and unique
Re: Video: Enjoy More Star Fox Zero Puppet Shenanigans in These Trailers
I'm absolutely loving the game. Its so ridiculously intense. I find the experience to be unlike anything else I've played.
Re: Rumour: Linkedin Profile Hints At Unannounced Racing Title From Excitebots Studio Monster Games
Man, Excitebots! Its the game that made me most angry about region locking. I wanted it so badly.
Re: Rumour: NX Software Lineup Will "Blow Away" Wii U, Controller Streaming Gimmick "Was Made Up"
@kobashi100 That's what I'm hoping for. Its mainly what I use my Vita these days

Read 'Space Monster Hunter' and realised that I would love to see that.
Re: Kirby: Planet Robobot Gets a Neat amiibo Bundle in Europe, While 'Kirby 3D Rumble' is Detailed
For some reason this is reminding me a bit of the original Rocket Knight adventures. Which is only a good thing.
Re: The Mega Man TV Show is Still Set for a 2017 release
My goodness that logo is all kinds of 90's
Re: Review: My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (3DS eShop)
"less so if those criteria don't apply to you." - or if Nintendo has not released Miitomo where you live
Re: Random: Someone Hacked The Original Sonic To Include Sonic Boom's Annoying Chatter
A part of my childhood just died
Re: Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice Confirmed for 30th September in Europe
To be fair the 3ds version was shockingly poor even if it wasn't actually broken loke the WiiU one
Re: Feature: Looking Back at the New 3DS Launch, Nintendo's Perfect Valentine's Day Gift
Difficult to answer that second question. It's not that the hardware is bad, it just seems entirely pointless to me.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Can Exploit Its Rich History With More Remasters
The one game I would truly live to see in HD is Sin and Punishment 2. I think it would really improve a game that is already on my best ever list.
Re: Video: Five Ways FAST Racing NEO Isn't F-Zero
But how many ways is it not like Wipeout or Extreme G? Because thats a little less obvious
