Are these the first RE games on Switch to receive a patch? Revelations 1 and 2 never received any despite the terribly inconsistent performance in 2
Oh boy, motion controls patched in but no performance fixes. Great. Guess I’m still not buying them.
Re4 had a motion control option on the Wii, yet the Switch version doesn't. 5 and 6 never had motion controls, but the Switch versions do?
Capcom being Capcom I guess
@MagnaRoader 5 did actually have PlayStation Move motion controls.
Brilliant. Didn't expect this but grateful capcom did this even though I won't be able to take advantage of it (no use of my left arm)
Still need to try demo to see if can manage it one handed. Could do so for rerend revelations 2 so optimistic.
I hope they add one for RE4
I missed the days when games were shipped finished. These aren't even new games, they are ports of older games. Why weren't these functions added when they ported them? This is Capcom, not some small indie company with a staff of 4 people.
Motion controls take these from a "maybe once they're 75% off sale material in a few years" to "maybe I can get the physical version and surprise my brother with a free copy of RE4"
Yet RE4 can’t have this? Not that I’d replay it now, but it really should’ve had it at release anyways...
But what about RE0, RE1, and RE4, you know the ones that already should had gotten these features to begin with. Nobody was asking these for RE5 & RE6. Heck RE Revelations 1 & 2 should had gotten these too.
@retro_player_22 so... You want to play fixed-camera third person games with motion-controlled aiming...
That's hardcore. (Though possible if they limit it to moving the gun up and down!)
The Revelations games had them from day one btw.
A step n the right direction. Now fix RE4 too. If I'm going to get the games it'd probably be through the 'physical' (1/3 is better than 0/3 I guess) pack so I need all three to be playable (no gyro = unplayable for me) before I even think about it.
@StableInvadeel RE0, RE1, and RE4 all got motion control and gyro aiming features when they were ported to the Wii so of course they'll work just fine on Switch with those same features. All Capcom had to do was spruce up the graphics.
Gyro & motion controls is nice and all, but performance comes first in my mind. I am not insterested in subpar port. They already got me with Revelations 2 which has absolute garbage performance on the Switch.
On Resident Evil 5:
I'm playing this right now and there is some absolutely AWFUL input delay. Tried it with a wired and unwired Pro Controller. There's almost half a second of delay.
Texture and object pop-in is everywhere and is very noticeable. FPS takes a Massive dip when the action gets intense and the input delay worsens along with it. It's so delayed that the friggin' RUMBLE is delayed as a result.
Can't comment on RE6 yet as I haven't played it yet, but these ports are not looking good.
Well done Capcom, please, please, please now do the same for RE4
RE 6 gets way too much crap. At least it tried to be dark and scary at some points. Plus i just like Leon better. RE 5 is the real train wreck.
@Zeldafan79 RE 5 were very cool as a action game.
Performance is fine, I think... at least I didn't experience any slowdowns or hiccups.
Tired the demo of 6, which I've always been tempted by. The motion controls would surely help, but if the demo is remotely reflective of the overall game, its a worse game than I'd heard.
I hope they have the option separate from the analog stick inversion. Revelations 2 doesn’t let you have inverted stick with regular Y axis motion control and it’s quite frustrating.
does this mean point and shoot a la RE4 on Wii? There is literally no other better way to play a shooter!
Good game Capcom, I may have to buy these now!
Hopefully this is just gyro aiming and not some silliness like the way they did motion controls in Revelations.
I'm ready to throw my moneys at Capcom's face, but they just keep turning around. Get motion on RE4!
Maybe they should release a patch to reduce the price of these overpriced shody ports, that even on their 'sale' price, are still more expensive than other platforms. I'm done with Capcom
@aznable both demos played just fine
Right, now I’m interested and will get these once discounted. I wish they’d patch gyro into revelations 2. The point and shoot controls are great but sometimes I want to play with ProC. Anyway well done to Capcom for implementing these options now make the price more attractive please.
but Revelations 2 always had gyro aiming from the very beginning - that's how I played through in the first place
Does the gyro patch apply to the demos too?
The games were cheaper to preorder in the uk - will this price still be available once they’re out or do I need to decide now??
@Zeldafan79
I'd disagree. My unpopular gaming opinion is that RE 5 is a better Resident Evil game than 4 or 6. 4 is a fantastic action game but aside from Leon not really much to do with RE. 6 was a disaster that tried to be a jack of all trades but missed on everything. Leon's campaign I guess was ok but was just a really short version of 4. Chris' and Jake's campaigns were really bad imitations of Gears of War and Call of Duty respectively.
RE 5 at least had some elements of past RE games. The underground facility, Chris, Jill and Wesker and a decent enough story that could've wrapped the whole series up.
Getting vampyr over this too oldies!!!! At least some good horror story!
@DK-Fan If they do, I will get the collection with 4 on the cart. I really wish they would just put 4 on a cart by itself, with motion controls. Cheers!
@Zeldafan79 Those moments get ruined with a terrible cutscene that ruins the atmosphere and immersion.
Be sure to bug Capcom's Resident Evil twitter account for R.E. 4 motion controls.
@MagnaRoader re5 had motion controls. ps move allowed that. i hate how sony made us buy ps move and didn't even bother to add that functionality to any and all of their games like re5. i mean, precision is so much better with aim.
@Elvie already did
