So many happy memories of playing all of these games back in the day. Kind of wish we could get another on Switch, keep it simple and limit it to guitars and a mix of classic hits and I'd be happy.
I dont see them going back to dedicated handhelds and consoles. They are still able to experiment and implement new ideas without leaving the hybrid model behind, just look at Labo and Ring Fit as two example of affordable hardware that allowed them to experiment without having to build an entire system around a gimmick. The hybrid approach provides a solid foundation for Nintendo to then build off of when they want to try out some of their more wacky ideas and once interest has lessened they can move on to the next project without having to support the previous work for an entire generation.
This game has taken on an almost legendary status and deservedly so. Mike Bithell is a very talented man and I hope he gets the chance to work on something with a bigger budget at some point in his career and can see his work get some more mainstream recognition.
I still can't believe people have so much time on their hands they can sue Nintendo. Perhaps if they put that time in to enjoying their hobbies and working they would be able to afford a new set of joycons instead of refund begging like tramps on the street. Unless of course there hobbies and jobs include suing people in which case i don't know what to say.
I dont see the issue. People who havent heard of it yet have months to do so, it's an anniversary title made to mark the occasion, the game are all playable on other systems. People seem to confuse limited run with limited time, Nintendo arent going to under produce anything that could make them a stack of money. Besides the limited time run on the Wii All Stars got another run at half the price years later no reason Nintendo might not do the same here.
This was such a great idea when it came out. With the software droughts on WiiU a title like this was perfect for giving you something you could play for hundreds of hours and generated it's own content. Very smart of Nintendo.
Are people really complaining about a free little time waster being a limited time release as if a year from now someone is going to be sat in front of their Switch thinking yeah i really wish i could get me some Jump Rope Challenge right about now.
Wow the complainers desperate for a TTYD follow up are still complaining because Nintendo wont give them exactly what they want and they want it now otherwise they are going to have a massive tantrum in every comment section you can find. You know what we get it you prefer the old game, for what it's worth I loved TTYD as well, but it's been twenty years it's time to move on. TOK was an excellent game and there are so many people out there enjoying it.
Seeing the reactions of people to a very well written article on why some people might not want to play the way they do makes me glad the elitists are a minority in gaming. Glad blokes like Scully can just enjoy playing the game the way they want while the critics are busy w%nking each other in to a frenzy about how good they are. Surprised we haven't seen more 'i finished Mega Man 2 at 3 years old don't get what the big deal is thought everyone could do it' stories in the comments.
@TheFox i was also a big fan of Devils Third. Seems kind of right though that it is locked to the WiiU, an under appreciated game on an under appreciated console.
If I had the kind of money I could spend 25,000 on this I would just pay an attractive woman to dress as her and pose in the corner of my game room for my amusement.
@TG16_IS_BAE of course would be a nice gesture especially as some of those accused have shared the stage with Nintendo and while they may not have known about the character of those people it would still be good to see them being proactive. I simply meant in general terms the Smash scenes implosion is no great loss to Nintendo. You see a lot of people saying they promote the games but if we are being honest id be surprised if these players have any reach beyond people who would already be buying the game anyway.
@Kienda have to agree it was the right move to remain distant from the wider Smash tournament scene for the most part. As pro scenes go i don't think there is one as entitled and toxic as Smash.
Lets hope we see more about new content for Katana Zero. The scope seems to have grown significantly from the original plan but its been quite some time now and i would love to see the story and world expanded.
@Deltath i was aware of this but thanks regardless. I just think its a shame to see the legacy of the Harvest moon name being dragged through the dirt. I am looking forward to Rune Factory 5 although i cant say i am very keen on the Friends of Mineral Town remake, its one of the best entries in the series for sure but can't see past the budgety look for this one.
What are they doing to this franchise. Miss after miss. As a long time fan of the series it saddens me to see it being slowly destroyed with this succession of disappointing titles.
I love to see Nintendo succeeding in the console market but still would liked to have seen them succeed in the mobile space as well. Might have been a great place for less experienced employees to make a start with some new ideas rather than having experienced hands trying to bring over established franchises.
The GB games alongside Mario 64 and Sunshine. Seems fitting that a hybrid console would look to show the very best of Mario's handheld and console titles.
I think Galaxy 1 and 2 as well as 3D World and 3D Land are all worthy of definitive editions.
There's also an argument to be made for a complete collection of the New games as well. Maybe it's just easier to do say do everything.
This roster is becoming increasingly brilliant with every reveal, its almost as if the developers know they don't have the attention of a mainline game and feel like they can do anything they want. Fingers crossed Mario Kart 9 has this level of creativity in its character selection.
@patbacknitro18 i understand better now my mistake i was under the impression that it was only the versions that were remade for VR but having the originals included is much better value.
While i like a controller to be sound in design i also like them to have even a little personality. This pad has practically zero. I will stick to the pro control/8bitdo controllers.
There is something to be said for just enjoying a game without having to analyse every aspect, know every percentage, know every bit of data and every figure in the name of achieving maximum productivity for minimum effort. I mean if that's how you want to play by all by means play the way you want but don't forget to enjoy the game while your at it.
@BulbasaurusRex basically yeah it is worth $30 dollars to save having to move around everything in my gaming room set up, There is also the collector in me that just likes buying games i like to see on the shelf and this is one of them.
Ouch you guys really didn't like it did you!! To be fair your not wrong in most respects but i will still be picking it up, preferably physically, for the nostalgia and to be able to play it without having to have the OG Xbox set up. Can't deny i have a lot of great memories of playing this at launch.
Looking forward to playing this throw back to the glory days of the 90s FPS. Nice to see retro inspired games dont have to start and end with platformers/metroidvanias.
While its great seeing companies pushing on with presentations i think some of the magic is lost by having them spread out over a few months. Still something special about a week full of nonstop announcements. Summer Game Fest being over four months really kills my interest in it as a platform.
@BlackKnight93 i think you need to relax and not worry so much about what other people think about the things you like, unless of course your in to some really sick stuff in which case keep that to yourself but anyway there are as many people out there talking highly of Nintendo games as there are talking against them no need to make a big deal about it.
