Another week of this Nintendo Life draws to a close, a week that featured the now-customary dose of community-created Animal Crossing goodness, the steady building of anticipation for the next big Nintendo release of the year, and a one-off return this weekend of a Splatfest that feels somehow familiar.
Members of Team Nintendo Life have gathered together to discuss our weekend plans, and we'd love for you to join in via our poll and comment sections below. Enjoy!

This weekend I'll be participating in Splatoon 2's Splatfest - team ketchup all the way! I can't remember the last time I played the game...it might have actually been the final Splatfest, in all honesty (I sided with team Chaos, from what I recall). Over the next few days I'll be trying to take out some wins on behalf of Marina with a trusty sauce bottle by my side. I'm also be spending time in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix. I finally got around to trying out the demo last weekend and about half an hour later decided to buy the whole thing. If you've had fun with rhythm games like Elite Beat Agents in the past, you should enjoy this one as well.

Like many other people this week, I purchased NBA 2K20 with a substantial 95% discount. And like many people this week, I woke up the following morning to a big 'X' in the middle of the download progress bar which signalled that my micro SD wasn't big enough to accommodate the 2 kila-gigaplexes of memory space the game requires. Consequently, I likely won't be playing NBA 2K20 and it'll join the shameful pile of games I've bought and never even opened.
In fact, beyond a quick 15-minute visit to my Animal Crossing: New Horizons island to do my rounds, it's possible I may not get to squeeze in any gaming this weekend. Life's just been a tad too hectic of late. Too hectic to play Streets of Rage 4, even. Now that's when you know you're in dire straits!
However, if I magically get a couple of hours to myself, I'll probably use them to revisit a couple of classics. The anniversaries of Perfect Dark and Super Mario Galaxy 2 have come around, and I've got a hankering to play them both. We shall see...

This weekend I’ll be getting stuck into Journey to the Savage Planet for review purposes, a game I’ve played already on PS4 and I’m very interested so see how this Switch port manages to hold up, fingers crossed it’s a solid job as the game itself really is excellent stuff. Elsewhere I’ve been enjoying my first ever playthrough of The Wonderful 101, which I’m really impressed with so far, as well as managing my newly developed addiction to Hatsune Miku. I’ve been singing Po Pi Po out loud around the house for a solid week now and it’s doing absolutely nothing good for lockdown tension levels over here. Hope you are all staying safe and have a good one!

Physical game arrivals placed Dark Devotion and Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King on my playlist for this weekend. The eShop again does not disappoint with the likes of Arrest of a stone Buddah, Pushy and Pully in Blockland, WHAT THE GOLF? (the best golf game ever made for non-golf persons!) and I can assure you that Awesome Pea 2 lives up to it’s delightful prequel. Of course, despite 60+ days on the island, I still have Animal Crossing: New Horizons on daily rotation. I'll need to stop by Splatoon 2 - that deja-vu splatfest won’t resolve itself.
Game of the week would have been The Wonderful 101, but guess what? I backed the game and still don’t have it on Switch. But I’m more than happy to give the award at this time to the fantastic Red Wings: Aces of the Sky. Fly true, petite rouge!
As always, thanks for reading! Make sure to leave a vote in the poll above and a comment below with your gaming choices over the next few days...

PC games mostly, and Smash with my siblings.
Fighting Little Mac with Mewtwo is a pain though.
Skyrim... again, again. Got a ton of new games, but just feel like another run at this... maybe with a summoner, stealthy and strange combo? Who cares so long as I can kick back and listen to the gorgeous music while I explore. 😊
Hopefully I will wrap up Final Fantasy Adventure on the Switch this weekend I feel like I am close to the end.
Other then that playing a variety of Genesis games on my new Mega SG 😁😁😁
Zero Escape 999. It’s very engrossing. I was up very late getting an ending which was foolish as I’m working today.
I reckon I’ll have it finished in time for Xenoblade.
Just started splatfest. Ketchup will have redemption!
Trails in the Sky the 3rd, Street Fighter 5, Huntdown.
Splatfest at least until I reach Queen but also a lot of Animal Crossing and some Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA, Lonely Mountains: Downhill and What the Golf?
This weekend i played Ratchet & Clank 3 Trilogy PS3.

Already get Qwark Video game vol. 2.
It was pretty LOL to see. 😆
And i have finished a mediocre NDS game Jake Power Handyman with just 30 minutes ! 😅
I am playing Nintendogs + Cats: French Bulldog and New Friends 3DS right now.
I am doing a Pedometer walk with my Husky puppy.
I think i will continue Ratchet & Clank 3 PS3 after dinnertime.
Animal Crossing, New Horizons. Now, back to my island . . .
Animal Crossing right now, Splatoon 2 later today, and probably some Disgaea 4 and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX.
If I find time I know I probably don't have, Star Wars: Empire at War: Thrawn's Revenge too.
I have a Dreamcast being delivered today so I'll be playing some Daytona, Canon Spike, Gunbird 2 and probably Resident Evil Code Veronica
Still going with my maddening Golden Deer/Ashen Wolves run in FE3H. Seriously thinking about ordering Xenoblade even though I'll be playing FE for at least another month. Never played one before but the more I hear the more I like the sound of it.
Xenoblade2 <3
Ever Oasis, Shenmue 1, Animal Crossing and Garou: Mark of the Wolves.
Just started Animal Crossing, still in the gathering phase, so not much to decorate yet. In between playing some witcher, the final DLC bits for me (Blood and Whine), but I’m positive that I will start again in a few months.
Have a nice weekend all!
Williams Volume 5 on Pinball FX3, colourful & exotic bliss. That and 140 hrs into Skyrim as a thief. Also, City Skylines.
Started Witcher 3 last weekend. Haven't stopped playing it. Fantastic game - and managed to pull me away from BOTW
@carlos82 Nice choice!!! The Dreamcast is such an awesome console it's a shame it couldn't save Sega. Great lineup of games too!!
Just some Animal Crossing while waiting for Xenoblade. Also finishing up on Yakuza 3 in the remastered collection.
Thanks to the rage-inducing game-breaking “Diamond Glitch” in FF7 (how the F have Square not patched that out of all these ports), I’m quitting that, so...
This week I will be mostly playing
Spla2n
Kirby Tilt ‘n’ Tumble
Fire Emblem Three Houses and Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix - Finished all songs on Normal so I'm tackling Hard now. Awesome game. My sister owns Project Mirai DX so I'm familiar with the gameplay and some of the songs. I've had vocaloid music on my Spotify playlist for some time too. I always wanted to get DX but I kept waiting for discounts it never had.
I really like how this game handles difficulty. Normal is quite easy but each song has a section that resembles Hard difficulty but you won't get punished during that time. It gets you accustomed to the harder stuff so the transition between Normal and Hard is smoother.
Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl - Halfway through 5th Stratum. Don't know if I can finish it before Xenoblade comes out but I'm trying. Either way I'm going to finish it pretty soon although I don't know how much extra there is to do after credits. I've done all sidequests so far. I would like to fill out the item compendium and monster codex. I'll see how close I am to 100% once I've beaten the final boss.
This is the first Etrian Odyssey game I've played aside from demos and I knew I'd enjoy it but I didn't know I'd like it this much. I'm already thinking about starting the next one even though I haven't finished this one. And I'm going to play Xenoblade first so that takes some time.
Which EO game should I play next? I've bought most of them over the years. I'm torn between EOU2 (How similar is the party composition in story mode? I don't want it to be too similar.), EO4 (I've heard this one is excellent. Making my own party could be a fun change from EOU's story mode.), EMD (It's not quite the same but I enjoy Mystery Dungeon.) and Persona Q (Not strictly EO but counts here. Haven't played Persona series.).
Am still playing Octopath. Have just finished all of the first chapters, but am enjoying roaming the world map and finding optional dungeons more at the moment. I also downloaded Willy Jetman as it gives me real Exile vibes. Take care, all, and stay safe out there.
I finished Natwest Island Saver 100 per cent yesterday which as a free game aimed at younger folks was ALOT more fun than it had any right to be.lol I'm 46 years old but id pay for a sequel.
Started playing a crazy little game called Donut County which I've had for a while but just started it and enjoying it alot.
The rest of my gaming time will involve Animal Crossing,Stardew Valley and Lego DC Villains.
Stay Safe all.
Splatoon 2 Splatfest it has to be, especially as we likely won't get another anytime soon if at all....
@gaga64 Good old Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble, that game was way ahead of its time.
Splatfest for me first then maybe Xenoblade Chronicles X, have finished the main story and was very impressed with the ending. Now I'm going to power my team up so we can take on all those huge monsters that obliterated me previously, it's payback time!
Besides the usual main suspects of the last few weeks (and their recurrent escort like Evoland and Highrise Heroes), my Switch plans for the weekend include Ciel Fledge, some racing (between Grid and Gear Club) and possibly also a taste of 2064 ROM and Dark Tower whose discounts I hope to make use of in the eleventh hour. There's a lot of heavily discounted stuff from my wishlist lately, but other expenses still leave me selective about it, especially at the moment when I'm sitting on an estimated stash for the first Bioshock and Borderlands GOTY but still have no idea about their respective prices. If each exceeds ₽2000, I'll have to revise my sale purchase ambitions for the period further. Thanks for coming to my oddly "first world and second world at the same time" talk.😆
Beyond Switch (and again, besides the oft-mentioned 3DS titles), possib- no, definitely more Gran Turismo on PS Vita. If anything, I need to finish that race I left in sleep mode last night after deciding to "do a quick one" before NH Snork console's own sleep mode... and then finding out that the track I picked took over 10 minutes per lap. Yikes.😅
And I might as well skip next weekend's post because it'll directly follow May 29. Need I even comment then?
Shortly after posting last weekend, I managed to beat Double Cross. It was surprisingly good, despite my initial first impressions viewing it as something cheap and lacking depth. Not the best by any means, but certainly worth $5.
Now my schedule is open to tackling Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair. When I first got the game last year, I sucked so badly at it, and wasn't looking forward to the final gauntlet of the game, that I put it down to play the original game instead. I did beat the first and enjoyed it, and then the announcement of the Not So Impossible Lair drew me back. Now upon return, I've actually gotten a lot better at playing the game, and I'm really soaking in it's awesome visuals, music and level design. Still hate those loading times, but other than that, its fantastic.
Also gonna try and knock out Moving Out in co-op with my wife this weekend. The Guava Juice levels almost ruined the game for us. I had to play those ones in single player since they were literally impossible for us to do together. I hope the last levels aren't like that, as they really soured our impression of an otherwise amazing game.
Oh, and lastly, I bought Lonely Mountains Downhill last weekend, so I'm thinking of getting to that shortly after Yooka Laylee. And maybe Good Job in co-op with my wife after Moving Out.
@Anti-Matter It will never, never, never happen but I would kill for Ratchet and Clank on the Switch.
@Tasuki the last time I was truly wowed by a new console was seeing the Dreamcast demo unit in Virgin Megastore. I think it had Ready 2 Rumble and some F1 racing game on it and it looked incredible compared to anything at the time. I've been spending lockdown revisiting old consoles and its crazy how many great games I missed out on first time round or in the Saturn's case, never came west in the first place. Crazy to think with all the chaos going on at Sega at the time how forward thinking some of the features on their last consoles were and they had a lot of variety in their games
Today is my birthday and I am finally starting Fire Emblem Three Houses, originally a Christmas present from my wife. Thanks for the 300 platinum points, Nintendo! You really shouldn't have!
@Anti-Matter great games, I've been playing Tools of Destruction recently and was surprised to see it having a much better framerate than the PS4 game and still looks really nice
New Horizons as usual. I might also try to do some more work on getting my characters to level 99 in Azure Striker Gunvolt and Luminous Avenger iX. These are good games, but I just wish there were a more reliable method of grinding than just replaying stages a gazillion times.
I might fire up Spla2oon for a while, even though I haven't splatted in months.
Ring Fit Adventure for a workout each day.
And thinking about Friends of Mineral Town coming to Switch soon has me craving a little farming, so I may restart my Stardew Valley game. Do I really want to go back to the beginning? Not 100% sure yet. It's either that or jump back into Valkyria Chronicles 4, which is a slow burn but very enjoyable once you're into it.
Some Horizon Chase Turbo for sure. I played the new Brazilian DLC yesterday and it was delightful. Playing wirh the new car now, it's fun.
And I've been doing a ton of knitting and crochet lately and will be doing that today, as well as the dratted yardwork.
Have been having a massive tidy and clean out of my flat, dust is everywhere. The more u dust the more u see! But has been kinda therapeutic, and while I um and ar about which games to get usually ( apart from day 1s of course like thunder force next week!) I have ne er had that with real world items. But am gonna get method cleaner pink grapefruit !. X x all of this tidying has put me in a calm and fresh mindset, I feel like something that I have never played to completion, so maybe Flashback which I got for less than a pound on e shop a week or so ago. Take care everyone! X x x
@Late I love EOU:TMG so much. Played it for close to 200 hours, didn't finish. Stuck in a ruined city.
I wanted to try EOU2 after I gave up on EOU, but when I opened my used copy of it (a year ot more after I bought it) it turned out to be another copy of EOU. I'm still put out about that.
@JoeDiddley I wish I could play that game fresh again, it's so good!
(don't forget to play virtues last reward too, just an awesome sequel! )
@carlos82
After A Crack in Time, the next Ratchet games were downgraded.
All 4 One was boring, too long for 1 mission to be accomplished. 😪
QForce was very frustrating to keep my basement stay survive. 😫
Into the Nexus was okay but it had fewer planets to visit, fewer Weapons and 30 fps. 😕
Ratchet & Clank PS4 was very beautiful but running on 30 fps wasn't really satisfying. And the animated green blood from some enemies wasn't really necessary as some of enemies weren't insects. Compared with the Original PS2 version. 🙁
I'm finishing up Yooka-laylee today. All the patcges made this a smooth and fun ride, can't wait for the final boss!!
After that I'm moving on with the original final fantasy 7. Reached disc 2 and finally got to a part people haven't spoiled for me, so I'm curious what kind of plot twists the game will still throw at me!
@tanaka2687
Or...
Nintendo can consider to make Ratchet & Clank clones by Nintendo team.
Nothing, as my eyes are desparate for a break. I felt so dizzy at times in the last days I had to lie down. After mostly staying away from screens for two days it has become better.
But I'm thinking about gaming aaaall the time.
Project Diva plus a little Groove Coaster.
@garfreek thanks. I plan on playing Zero Escape Virtues Last Reward too, it’s on the Vita collection I’m playing.
I played AI The Somnium Files first, so doing it the wrong way around! It was also great.
I wish I had the time. Would love the splatfest. Booyah.
@Benji80 That's funny, because I had the exact same initial thoughts on Impossible Lair as you. I loved Tropical Freeze and thought it couldn't compare. However, after taking that break from it, Yooka Laylee became very refreshing. Something must have clicked for me. I think I prefer it just a little more because aside from the actual levels, the overworld is very clever and has unique puzzle solving elements to open up alternate versions of each level.
And thinking about it, Double Cross did feel a little like Megaman X. Glad to hear from someone else who enjoyed it.
I'm still playing through The Outer Worlds and loving every minute of it. I'm surprisingly not burned out on it. Aside from that, I'm not playing anything else because I don't have the time. Sometimes, working full-time sucks.
Back on V Rally 4, Moto GP 20, TT Racing & a bit of Splatoon.
Oh my gosh. Elemental Knights R is on sale for .75 ¢ . I got it and I don’t see how they got people to pay the original $22 for it!
... also got Remilore on sale, and probably going to bust out some multiplayer Slayin 2, Smash, Diablo, maybe even Tales of Vesperia or Bleed 2; something to playing with the cousins while visiting family.
I really want to play Wonderful 101 - I’ve wanted to since Wii U - but I’ve heard too many bad things that I don’t think they deserve my full $40. So I’m going to try to hold my money. Phantasy Star Online 2 US finally releases This coming week, so that’ll take a lot of time up after the 26th.
Wave Race 64, Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64 to test my newly RGB modded N64. Wave Race triggers a bunch of sync issues in line doubling modes, so that's mostly to test and tune the setup with (and to see if I can finish a Race blinded). Other games are marvelous to experience again "as I remembered them" on a HDTV. Any recommendations for other N64 classics I ought to consider?
Finally got around to finishing Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, awesome game! Got the DLC with DK but I’ll get to it another time.
Now I’m playing Jotun: Valhalla Edition. I’m enjoying it and the art style is gorgeous.
Oh and I got to the last boss on Operencia but I had to give up. Just too hard. From what I understand my characters were a little underlevelled, level 21’s and 22’s as opposed to the recommended 24. So maybe one day I’ll go back and hunt for all the secrets and whatnot but it won’t be for a while.
Still playing Animal Crossing and Street of Rage 4. Might also play Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. Still waiting for my copy of Wonderful 101, though I did a Steam key since physical copies were delayed, I rather play on my Switch. Also anxiously awaiting Xenoblade Chronicles to come out! 😁
Splatoon 2 (go Mayo go!) and Zelda BOTW.
Splatoon here.
Maybe some rounds on NBA 2k20 as well.
Might fire up botw for a second play through.
@InAnotherCastle 1080 and f zero x are fantastic x
Getting close to the end of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
Also pushing through Persona Q2 on the 3DS.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz and Air Combat on the switch
I have been mainly playing Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition ever since I bought it on the e-shop. The music of this game is quite good. My favorites so far are The Valley of Seers and the remixed version of the Skyloft. I like how they implemented the items of TLoZ into the Warriors fighting style. Really hope Nintendo let Koei Tecmo made a sequel.
My 2 mains couldn't be polar opposites Lately I've been bouncing between Friday The 13th The Game and Astral Chain. Tetris 99 in between those.
Once the beers start to flow my Tetris 99 skills go out the window and the complexities of Astral Chain's controls become a mess. As more beers are consumed I will play more Friday the 13th, Jedi Academy and Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. Mario Kart sneaks in too sometimes but my driving skills really take a hit depending on how many beers I'm in at that point (better towards the beginning of the boozing).
That may be a better question: When drinking what do you play? The same games or are some games played more/less/better when boozing?
@InAnotherCastle If you're into wrestling from that era at all WCW/NWO Revenge was a total classic in my household.
1080 Snowboarding is another classic that I strongly believe hold's up well today. That would look good on your setup. I'm dying for Nintendo to do something with that IP.
Animal Crossing, as I finally unlocked the terraforming! I'm loving making my dream for a wholesome village a reality.
I'm also still playing Rune Factory 4 definitive edition. Those two will hold me over until Pokemon Shield arrives in the mail on Tuesday (really looking forward to it!).
Mostly Mortal Kombat 11and a little bit:
Windjammers and Streets of Rage 4!
I’ll be playing Splatfest! Like many others I hadn’t played for awhile and became embarrassingly rusty- Shaking it off though lol!
Started playing Beat Cop so if I get the chance I’ll continue playing that as well.
I’ve also got Ori and the Will of the Wisps going on Xbox... reminds me a lot of the first one.
Personally going to play Metroid Zero Mission and Ckty Folk. I'm done with New Horizons
Still lots to do on Animal crossing, my beach areas all still need decorating.
@PickledKong64,
I liked city folk, but the years have not been kind to those graphics, my wife found a GameCube and a copy of the original game at her mothers house, even found the memory card too, need to hunt down a DVI connector from somewhere, have a feeling it won't be cheap.
Animal Crossing New Horizons and Pokemon Sword. Having a great time with both.
Currently planning to play Asphalt 9 as usual, and hoping to get around to Splatoon 2's splatfest (weather calling for storms, so might not be able to play online, in event the net goes out). Already checked in with my Animal Crossing town, and will continue to do so.
Lots of paper Mario. And a little bit of dragon quest 1 and golf story if I want to play a few rounds.
@johnvboy the first animal imo holds up really well. It doesn't have all the features from other games but has way more to do
@PickledKong64,
I can't see how people feel there us nothing to do in the new game, decorating your Island to a good standard you are happy with takes ages, I suppose if people do not want to do that then....
I actually chose Mario Galaxy 2 to be the game I ended the decade on last december...what a fantastic game! Right now, I don't really have anything I'm playing on the switch, taking a break from Octopath, and just finished Gato Roboto, which was a DELIGHTFUL game
@JasmineDragon 200 hours? That's a lot. I took a look at my Activity Log. I seem to have played 52 hours so far. I believe I'm in the same city. The difficulty seems to be ramping up. The boss encounter in the first floor of 5th Stratum was the first story boss that managed to kill me.
I'm playing on Standard since I'd heard EO games tend to get tough and I was afraid to go Expert when I'm new to the series. Had my first game over in 4th Stratum after a long play session and I was thankful that the Standard difficulty had one retry per trip. I would've lost a decent chunk of progress.
Buying a game only to discover it has the wrong game in the case sucks. I've gone all digital with Etrian Odyssey. I'm not even sure if they had physical releases for all 3DS entries in Europe. I know they didn't for the DS games and the 3DS games always came much later here.
The usual New Horizons and Slay the Spire, but also started Hyper Light Drifter last week as recommended (on this site) for £9 sale price.
It's a pretty intense game, what with the constant dodging and slashing/shooting, but the art style's gorgeous and it's simply a fun experience overall. I'm at around halfway point, having beaten the 2nd boss last night.
I'll probably start up The Messenger soon, although, if I'm being honest, I'm really just killing time until Shantae and Xenoblade release.
I only started Animal Crossing 2 weeks ago so I foresee that being my bread and butter game for the next few weeks at least.
Completed SoR 4 on Hard and now challenging myself in Hardest. Still really enjoying the hell out of this game.
I’ve been going back to Chase Horizon trying to get gold cups for each race (just a few more to go)
I’d like to revisit Trine 4 this weekend as well to complete the game
Played some splatfest this morning. Forgot how much fun that game is! Other than that I might play a bit of super mario world or maybe start something from the backlog.
@johnvboy yeah I decorated my island greatly and I am happy with that. But other than that it's just very lame compared to all the stuff you can do in New Leaf, City Folk and even the first Animal Crossing. The villagers are boring and have zero personality. They started repeating dialogue almost 3 weeks after I got the game. In Coty folk and the gamecube one, heck even wild World they were always saying something different aside from greetings. I also HATE how this game hinders progress. The fact that I can't upgrade my Nook store by just playing the game is annoying. I started a new city Folk game around the same time I started new Horizons and already have nookington. This game blows
This weekend, I'm playing persona 4 golden on my ps vita. It's the very first persona game ive ever played and im liking it so far! . Oh, and also animal crossing.
@Late Actually I misspoke, EOU is not the game I had 200 hours on, that was Fire Emblem Awakening, my #1 game on DS/3DS. EOU was my second most played. I think it was around 100 hours. I doubt you could squeeze 200 hours out of EOU without doing multiple new games, which I never do. Still a very meaty game though.
VALORANT, P5R and CIV 6
@PickledKong64,
Fair enough, best game in the series for me.
Sprayin that Mayo all weekend
Gotta finish Dragon Quest XI S before Monado Boy comes to town and beats my backlog to death.
Playing through Fusion mode on Metroid: Samus Returns, and then if I have time playing a little more SMT: Strange Journey Redux.
@johnvboy I genuinely believe it can be once all the updates are done
Animal Crossing most likely. It’s so nice this weekend that I will be taking my kids outside to play.
Splatfest and Wonderful 101 Remastered, perhaps also some usual XB1 stuff.
@ryando happy birthday! A good treat for it
@Ronwantread enjoy. I hope you like it!
What the Golf
101
Journey to the savage planet.
Just about done with Cosmic Star Heroine. After that, I'm not too sure. Maybe see if my Animal Crossing: New Horizons town is doing okay.
Having another Splatfest, even if it’s a redo, is a welcome surprise. I’m now a Ketchup Champion. I may also mess around with Pikmin 3 and Octopath Traveler this weekend.
More Huntdown for me this weekend. Trying to get 100% out of all stages.
I would like to play Splatoon 2 again, but I don't have enough time this weekend to give it my full attention. Next weekend would be better, but hey...
@carlos82 The Dreamcast in my opinion was the first affordable home system that matched Arcade quality. Heck even a few of the games like Soul Caliber were better on the Dreamcast then their arcade version.
@InAnotherCastle Wave Race 64 is my favourite N64 title. So much so I’ve just ordered the Japanese rumble version so that I can experience the Rumble Pak in all its finest glory. 1080 is a must. Fine game that feels so good carving up the slopes. Beetle Adventure Racing has aged pretty well and is still a blast. F-Zero X too holds up well with silky smooth FPS. I’m currently working through a rerun of Pilotwings with my new Super64 HDMI adapter. The slick mode is actually quite impressive and works really well on some games. It’s pricy but worth it IMO.
My goal is to finish up Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright on 3DS today. I spent my late morning/early afternoon grinding my best units up to snuff and conquered Chapter 27. I finally had to stop playing via a battle save since it was well past lunchtime; it threw me right into the endgame. Dare I say that the end boss here is better than the one in Conquest?
I'll transition back into Batman: The Telltale Series on Switch after that. I finished off episode 2 last night. There are some very interesting developments involving Thomas and Martha Wayne....
Finally, Seedot Community Day is tomorrow (Sunday) in Pokemon Go. Besides participating in that for a little while, I'll also be making some progress on the Sinnoh throwback research.
Stay safe out there! Happy gaming!
Mostly Splatoon because of the Splatfest. But another game I'm suddenly really getting into, despite that I bought it a year ago and it just wasn't clicking for the fist 10 months is ZombiU. Like a sudden revelation, I now love that game.
@RustedHero @beazlen1 @Dragonslacker1
Thanks for the suggestions. Ended up playing Wave Race after I got sync working. Will try the other titles as well
Just got to chapter 20 in Fire Emblem Three Houses (Black Eagles). Perhaps there’s a chance I’ll finish it before Xenoblade releases on Friday. Not sure if I’ll play the other routes or just read up on the differences. Overall I’ve really enjoyed the games. My first FE experience. Have all the 3DS games waiting to go next.
Carrying on with Pokemon X too.
I’ll be playing NBA2K20 as usual, and Lethis while I patiently wait for Tuesday. Then Minecraft Dungeons will be all I play for quite a while.
The editor, has unabashed honesty. If you don't like basketball don't do it, but you know w the considerable savings you could go get another SD card, and start organizing! When you have the time of course. Or you know, delete all the shovel Ware you don't want to admit you bought. Let me make my point for 2k. Those in the know, even long before full online suites, refer to NBA 2k as "2krack." There is no more addictive brain confusing simulator like 2k.
Lopes:
Besides what to play, the point should be about Wonderful 101 getting KICK-STARTED. It is an amazing game, only undone my first person gamepad sensorimotor based events. Fundamentally tho, it is a super hero cinematic event tour de force featuring as unique gameplay as you can imagine. Fans should not have had to finance that port. It is a Ntdo published wiiu game, that Platinum developed in house. This is unnerving, as the merits of wonderful 101 are substantial and on the wiiu it was an animation and lighting gloss mind fingerer. Fans should not have beg and finance Ntdo just so they can buy Ntdo's products. They should know their products and have confidence in their PR and publishing abilities. That is their risk. Not yours.
@Kaleid-Stone
Oh I'm still going Lopes:
Mirage Sessions is not the same AAA experience Wonderful 101 is from beginning to end. However, neither are even in the ball park, of the one left behind wiiu franchise. Xenoblade Chronicles X is in every way, the best game to actually hit the wiiu (before it was a flailing dead fish on the banks of our hearts and dreams). Botw and XBCX stand together, far and above the rest of the wiiu, and really, the industry. XbcX absence on the switch isn't disappointing or disheartening, rather, it's heartbreaking. It truly is a product of immense value and unrelenting imagination. A 250 hr plus HD romp into the unknown, and of constant discovery, for a year of consistent play. It is a game, from an era of value, that has passed.
XbcX is held back by production cost. It's map system is the beginning of the game, and it is tied to a dual screen relationship. The map only lives in the gamepad and so does resource mining and fast travel. The game also, based on Master Takahashi's previous works and dialogue cuts, is missing some episodes of arc development for antagonist. As well, it featured an online suite that never evolved into user parties in the same open world.
The game and consumers deserve those finishes, but a simple qol refinish of the map system would allow the game to work as is. However, the exhaustive 6 chapter then 3 more chapter journey until the player has a skell and can fly it, is a Takahashi staple theme for pacing, but has locked an incredible experience from casual gamers. This is great for the games pacing, as you must run (literally away) and gun (just to get away) as an iddy bitty speck of a human in gargantuan alien biomes, and can explore anywhere at any time. That scale is so impressive at that size and pace. It is mind boggling. However the cover art presented and the overall satisfaction of, skells, players anticipate this mechanic and deserve it sooner. This would however, mean events and encounters wld need to be re-scaled.
But with money never in supply at Ntdo (despite being the video game liquid cash and asset industry-god it is), none of these changes need to be made to deliver an absolute, stellar experience to switch users. This game should have been a launch title. And Ntdo shld have the confidence to place it, on a proper platform w a proper market. The Switch's market is booming. There really is no excuse. That being said, wo the kickstart to supplant Ntdo, how or why would they believe Cross to be worth it. And that is the slippery slope we are on. We need them to out there highest quality products out of their own power. And we will buy them of our power. But this slope, means a game no one got to play, of exceptional quality, wld have to canvassed by fans to educate other consumers of it's value, just so those fans who have not played can donate money, so Ntdo will release it's solely licensed product. That is not good for us consumers. Not at all.
It's time, for Project Rainfall, Again.
@Kaleid-Stone
To note, Mirage Sessions is a great game as well, although it is not the same triple a experience throughout it's duration like 101. Being said, i can not find info regarding fan or dev kick-starting. Tokyo Mirage Sessions is Ntdo published game by Atlus ( yes that means alot of bloated gameplay loops to flesh out play time). Therefore, I believe it to be an internally selected port. That is an absolute head scratcher. As well, I wldnt say the last 10 percent of the game felt finished, and the way it set you on a repeat and rinse marathon of the entire games mechanics to finish out the game, I very positive the devs did not finish the product as intended.
Xbc Cross is massive. 1280 by 720 at 30 fps over averaged considers locked.

I am playing rygar on the nintendo switch online and tetris 99 and jeopardy on the switch. will download mortal kombat 11 dlc next week.
I'm really enjoying What the Golf? How some people completed to daily challenges in less than 10 strokes is beyond me.
Just been playing Animal Crossing and Mario Maker 2, that's it.
I’ve been playing a few quick races on Grid, great game. Tried out a few of the new SNES games and some Super Ghouls n Ghosts...I did a lot better than I did last time where I was dying constantly. Another stone cold classic.
EDIT: Also threw on the SF 30th Anniversary Edition today and had a few rounds of SF Alpha 2. I hadn't played it in a while but thoroughly enjoyed it.
