Yacht Club Games - best known for Shovel Knight - has announced the 8-bit ninja platformer it's helping publish will be slightly delayed.
In a post over on its official website, it promised the Cyber Shadow delay would only be a "minor" one - so we shouldn't have to wait much longer. The game was originally scheduled to launch in Fall 2020.
"The end is nearly in sight, but we need a little more time to add polish and finishing touches to the experience. We understand the news is disappointing but please keep in mind that this is only a minor delay! We expect to have an updated release date ready to share soon."
On a more positive note, if you pre-order the game, you'll be able to get it for $14.99. When it's eventually released, its price will change to $19.99. Will you be pre-ordering Cyber Shadow? Like what you see in the trailer above? Tell us down below.

It's fine because I'm looking forward to this one.
I don't like being reminded that I suck at games, so I might pass on this.
I laugh at this because of how long it along it was announced. Regardless just make it good.
A real shame, but expected.
Insert Shigeru Miyamoto quote here:
Hope its even half as good as The Messenger.
How am I just now learning about this game? Another gem I will definitely be able to use my SNES Switch controller to play.
Gosh darn it!!!! Not the news I wanted, but ok
I shall be here, waiting and ready.
I hope this gets a physical release–one that releases simultaneously for all platforms the game is available on. The PS4 physical release for Shovel Knight Treasure Trove is the new Treasure Trove amiibo 3-pack, because it still hasn't come out yet!
I can wait. If there's ANYTHING I've learned from Yacht Club, it's that the longer time spent, the better the game.
Been waiting for this one for a year now so.... I can wait a bit longer. It still looks like the way we all imagined those 2D action games felt. Now current technology can add to the gameplay.
This game looks fabulous. Release it when it plays that way. I can wait.
Cyber Shadow looks class going be a day 2 purchase for me. Reminds me of Nes Ninja Gaiden.
gimme gimme gimme gimme, this game is absolutely gorgeous
@Shadow_Dancer What you doing on day 1?
@bluemage1989
Exactly my guess. The Messenger was so good that now the expectations are high for these type of games.
A sick combination of Ninja gaiden and Contra can take its time for achieving the perfection such combination deserves. Do not worry, we will wait.
@HotGoomba Everyone sucks at games in the beginning, eventually you get better. So no worries.
@Jokerwolf True but some people, like me, aren't so good at games that require split second reactions and twitch type gameplay that this looks like.
Outside of that I love everything about this.
I say it when Oddworld Inhabitants keeps delaying Soulstorm, and I'll say it here: I would rather a team take as much time as they need perfecting a game than have them haphazardly throw out a flawed game.
This one is definitely on my radar. Maybe getting a liiiiitttlllle bit tired of the NES style twitch platformer genre but this one has a bad ass ninja in it and it’s made by some of the best in the business - hope it turns out well!
I’ll be waiting for the inevitable physical release, so it’s all good. Looks awesome!
Take your time. Let it bake.
Imma dive head first into this beach.
@Tourtus don’t make ME say it; YOU say it
I mean, I'll be holding out for a physical anyway, so I don't mind. I'll wait
