To be fair this is kind of handy for picking up that occasional game you missed the first time around. Its not really doing any harm to anyone seeing as you can still use your gold coins on the Switch eshop should you want to.
@Scollurio i didn't explain that to well myself either didn't mean your comment specifically but rather the wider gaming community seems to have this view that just because you limit yourself to one or two brands you are not a gamer and your opinion is invalid. To describe someone who, for instance, only bought Nintendos or Sonys first party AAA titles and literally nothing else as being ignorant of the gaming hobby as a whole would be kind of silly or someone who only played a select few fighters like Street Fighter and Tekken. I think the issue is there is a lot of elitism and snobbery developing within the wider gaming community whereby your opinions and desires for the industry moving forward are only valid if you meet a check list devised by 'core' gamers and that only a select few should be able to dictate the future of gaming. I think there is ample room for the entire spectrum of the gaming community to coexist but a small group of gaming elitists need to step down from their high horses and accept they are not as important as they seem to think they are if they want to have their opinions taken seriously by these big companies.
@Scollurio To be fair i know a lot of people whos gaming is limited to FIFA, CoD and the occasional racer but i wouldnt consider them lesser gamers, simply people who know what they like and play what they like without feeling the need to force themselves to play something else just to appease the hardcore crowd who seem to feel there opinion means more.
Have to laugh at the snobby gaming elitists judging people for enjoying something just because they don't like it. I'm glad to see Fortnite still doing well and bringing enjoyment to any and all who enjoy it.
@Jolt i hope you can also equally respect the views of people such as myself who admire and support China's stance and wish the Hong Kong police the best of luck in standing up to these protests.
Some of them are really good but overall they dont seem much better than a lot of the other snapshot pictures i have seen by people who have no photography background at all. I daresay the NL community could make just as good images.
How on earth did Forever get involved with Sega franchises?? One of the worst publishers out there at the moment and not the kind of company you would trust with games of this calibre.
@Mr_Muscle aye exactly. You don't have enough money for something go out and make more rather than complaining everything is to expensive. People seem to think they are entitled to everything for next to nothing regardless of the time, effort and cost that goes in to something. A quality product will always be pricey and i am more than happy to pay that price.
@GetShulked I dont doubt that there are people that only play for online and for them its a shame but come November hardly anyone will care. Whether you think people are mindless because they refuse to be outraged is up to you but I suggest getting over it and not having a tantrum because a developer refuses to cater to your every demand.
All of those people kicking up because they cut the pokedex dont really matter, reality is this game is going to sell big because Gamefreak and the majority of the fanbase don't care what a small section of the fanbase think. Who plays a new Pokemon game with their old team anyway isn't the whole point of a new game to enjoy catching and using all the new pokemon??
@Kidfunkadelic83 I haven't got any sales figures so I could be wrong but have Onimusha and DMC sold that much better then Resi at half the price?? Based on nothing but my friends list, people I know and Discord I see a lot of people playing Resi and no one going near the other two. I can't hold against any company wanting to make stacks of money from a popular franchise, after all, they are businesses and not charities and if I need to pay £30 a game to see them come to Switch i am (and many others i imagine) happy to pay a decent price for a quality game. If that price point is to high there are plenty of other games available for between £10-£15 but the way I see it life is to short to split hairs over a few pounds.
If you don't want to pay their price fair enough don't play it but maybe a little less complaining that every company is greedy because they won't give it to you for nothing.
Its almost as if people expect Capcom to give these games away. I'm more than happy to pay £30 and enjoy myself then make a big deal over ten or twenty pounds which is quite frankly not a lot in the grand scheme of things.
Considering the toxic response of some of the fanbase its probably for the best they are distancing themselves from the interpretation from CDPR. Regardless of what a vocal minority feel I think the show will be a success.
Looking forward to getting this. Lot of people kicking off about the price and that's fine if you don't want to spend that hoping to make a stand but for me life is to short to count every pound I'd rather just spend the money and enjoy the game.
@Notshane sorry didn't see the memo regarding Cuphead being exempt from criticism. Its not an easy game but its no harder than Sekiro which I am playing at the moment and loving. The reasons I don't like it is that the game offers little besides boss battles which arent particuarly exciting anyway and that I hate the art style.
I love the Mario Party series and this entry did not disappoint in terms of mini games or content. I don't think Nintendo were prepares for it to sell as well as it did but hopefully they will have se new boards at the next direct to show off. I think Captain Toad has shown that updates and dlc can come quite late to a game.
@CupidStunt if you want to make a stand against the price go ahead the rest of us can avoid being drama queens for five minutes and enjoy the games for what they are.
Happy to pay whatever it costs. At the end of the day no one is forcing anyone to buy anything and if its not worth it for you for the price they set thats your choice bu theres plenty of others who think life is to short to spend it counting every penny for everything we buy.
@Chimaj i had thought about Civ 6 but wasnt sure if i had the time to give it the attention it deserves these next few weeks. Is learning the games in and outs initally fun or does it take a while to really get going?? @nintendobynature i have quite a broad interest of games so willing to try anything and especially something that has a great story but also down for some arcadey fun.
Sad to hear. The man was a real personality and i think he will be hard to replace. However, i cant hold it against the man for wanting to enjoy more time with his family, hopefully he will still make a cameo from time to time!!
@KingdomHeartsFan or do Switch owners just not want new ideas?? Because with the exception of Splatoon I'd say fans are happy to mostly keep revisiting classic formulas.
When you see Snipplerclips, Arms and Sushi Striker make very little headway but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and New Super Mario Bros Deluxe all sell well i cant really blame a company that exists to make money wanting to make money. We still have a good amount of new original games coming so whats the issue??
Unless PS5 can offer something to set it apart from the PS4 other than slightly better graphics I can see the Switch remaining competitive for the next few four years.
Grim Fandango Remastered: I have just finished year one and want to make as much as progress on year two as i can. This game is hilarious and very well written which keeps you going through the sometimes strange old school point and click logic.
Colums 3: Have been so addicted to playing this on the Sega Mega Drive Collection that i have decided to finish it before i start on Tetris 99.
Mario Odyssey: My favourite game to chill with, explore the worlds looking for moons on my never ending no guide 100% goal and collect coins for new outfits. Really enjoy the photo mode on this as well.
@BranJ0 I honestly think that a company with a history as long and varied as Nintendo could still bring forward first party characters with Piranha Plant being a great example of a left field choice that surprised everyone. Im not against third parties all together but start with the first/second party characters before moving on to third party companies that have long ties and have provided exclusive main line games before they start selling off slots to the highest bidder and the roster starts to look like PlayStation All Stars with the likes of Dante, Cloud and Joker.
I love Smash as much as the next man but I'd be disappointed if the whole of the fighters pass was made up of non Nintendo characters. Its cool seeing Snake etc but Smash is at its best when its a celebration of Nintendo's first/second party history and not advertising space for other big third party companies games with only the weakest of the links. Hope the rest of those slots can be used to house franchises that deserve it and the likes of Joker and Dante are left well behind.
@OorWullie im with you on that. I was going through the eshop the other day watch listing anything I was interested in and so have literally browsed the entire eshop recently so let me tell you I was a little disappointed with what I found. I would prefer some of these games weren't there but who am I to judge. The real solution would be for Nintendo to manage visibility and exposure a lot better.
