A great game but it definitely needed patching. I have had about a dozen crashes in various levels and it can seriously chug at times. Still having a lot of fun though.
Nlife must have gotten a nice payout for running this article. I would say i am surprised but i wouldn't expect anything less from Whitehead and the rest of the 'journalists' that make up the reporting team on this site.
@Rhaoulos like you say I have no doubts he is a good guy and I do think he is good at what he does I just don't think what he does best and what Nlife does best are both the same thing. I could see him presenting a shorter scripted news segment and that working well but a lot of the best stuff they do is either longer, unscripted or more in depth. To be fair I imagine even Alex would cringe a bit at his earlier stuff but what people expect from a channel of this size is very different to one that is just starting out.
@RupeeClock help me out here as its been ages since I played them but did we ever see any mention of Ouroboros in the first two games?? As a name it just seems really familiar but I can't think from where or in what context.
Long time NLife YouTube viewer here. I have always enjoyed the channel and I thought Alex has been responsible for a lot of that. Zion has always fitted in well and while I didn't like Jon much he was far from unwatchable. However, I just have to say Felix doesn't do it for me at all to the point I just skip over a lot of these videos now. I think he is probably a great editor and creator in his own right but he just doesn't seem to fit the Nlife dynamic and is better suited to doing his own stuff. Just wanted to get this off my chest.
@mjharper same, I am looking forward to seeing what the game is all about. I appreciate the improvements that have been made and for a very reasonable £15 as well.
Honestly, going beyond the click baity headline for a moment, the amount of these piracy/mod articles is just getting boring. Even the comment sections tend to be the same kind of thing every time; people moaning about Nintendo not providing an alternative, complaining Nintendo don't show their old games enough respect and effort, something about preservationists being modern day heroes blah blah blah no wonder Nlife has become such a joke amongst genuine Nintendo fans these days.
The Smash fanbase doesn't seem to realise this entitled attitude and constant complaining is only driving away the little good will they had left from the wider Nintendo community. The fact they believe there are more integral to the games success than the company making it shows just how deluded and attention desperate they are.
Perhaps the best way to send a message to Nintendo is to simply boycott the Smash tournaments they are working on, do all that hashtag stuff these guys love to do, to show Nintendo we are not interested in enabling this community.
@outsider83 the difference between Phil Spencer and Reggie, I think, is that Reggie never claimed to be anything he isn't when it came to his gaming experience. Reggie might not have been a 'gamer' but he sure was passionate about the gaming industry and Nintendo as a whole which is what I'm looking for from a businessman. Phil Spencer tries to 'fit in' by flashing his gamer card but I don't he particularly cares about the industry or the division he represents.
I'll be honest and just say this guy gives me the creeps. I am sure he is a perfectly nice chap but when I hear him talking about gaming it's like he is the gaming equivalent of a groomer, telling gamers the things they want to hear while thinking of ways to get you in to the back of his van.
@Rykdrew I can't think of anything the pro Smash crowd has done for Nintendo. Given the horrendous exploitation of children parts of it are responsible for I am not surprised they want to distant themselves from such a community.
@Xenobound94 i think there is a lot of people excited for this but theres a few drama queens who love to bust out the same tired arguments about the series every time a new entry gets revealed. I think this will just sell and play just as good as Age of Calamity did.
I see the Pokemon 'fans' are still looking for excuses to moan hahaha must really sting seeing these games doing so well and realising no one cares what they think no matter how much noise they make.
@Dragonite89 I'm not saying it's a better game based on sales figures I'm saying it's a better game in general and much better than anything that could be conceived by some of the franchise's 'fans'.
@johnvboy I don't know how to embed images on here on a phone but it I did there would be a picture of like Palpatine or something with the caption yes yes excellent we feed on your hatred for one another.
@Dragonite89 a better game has come out and is selling better its called BDSP but yes if a different approach of game comes out and it sells better than BDSP I would agree that it is what fans want because sales figures say a lot more than the complaints of a vocal minority.
@Dragonite89 you are entitled to yours even if it is ridiculous. Personally I'm just glad that the pokemon fan base has sent another clear signal to Game Freak about what we want to see more of going forward.
@Dragonite89 as a discerning comment reader I am starting to find these lazy, low effort comments boring. Rather than just rehashing the same trash arguments every day maybe put some effort in going forward.
@Bass_X0 you seem to misunderstood my point. By all means read it and make a judgement but if you don’t want to see more of it dont reward it with engagement, engagement meaning repeated clicks and comments.
I think it's okay to not like the game but like so many reviews on this site lately it feels like it exists to spark controversy and arguments and garner more clicks and comments but what can I say it works how many people have they got commenting on a review of an old N64 on a Sunday evening?? If you don't want to see thrash like this then just read it and leave, don't reward their attention seeking with your engagement.
Great to see these performing well early, hopefully this sends and will continue to send a strong message to Game Freak and Nintendo about what the Pokemon fan base wants to see more of going forward.
@ModdedInkling I don't think releasing it on Switch is as cheap as you think. I mean maybe your right maybe it is easy money but you have to ask why they are not releasing it if its that simple?? Or perhaps the team of people who make these decisions, the ones who have to think these things through properly and keep their businesses operating and people in jobs, know better and realise it isn't in their interests to do it. Given the fickle nature of a vocal minority of the Switch ownership I don't blame them for not bothering either.
@ModdedInkling yes I think with time you will have the perspective to understand how the industry works and you might even find the passion to do something about it yourself rather than jumping on the port begging bandwagon.
@ModdedInkling you make it sound as if it's a consumers right to play a game and that it is the obligation of the developer to make that possible haha. The fact that you feel bad about skipping a game (because you have chosen not to buy the hardware required) is your problem not the developers. These are businesses not charities.
@ModdedInkling you can't think of a reason?? Maybe people not buying their games is enough of a reason to not waste time and money porting it over, after all they are not holding back releases just to annoy Switch owners are they. Rather then begging Atlus to release Persona I would rather people asked them to make some new games that appeals to the Switch audience like Trauma Centre. Also it should be noted that no one has to buy a console, it is a choice. I think Elder Scrolls 6 will be incredible but that doesn't mean I have to buy an Xbox I can just skip it and play something on the console I do have it's not like there isn't enough games on the horizon.
@UglyCasanova I appear to have touched a nerve haha but seriously though maybe your new to the world of gaming?? If so I'm sure you'll soon learn that just because the internet tells you something is bad doesn't mean it is and it's okay to just enjoy things and have fun.
