We've not seen many new releases over the past week so the UK chart hasn't changed a great deal – FIFA 21 remains in the top spot, which isn't very shocking – but what's most striking is that Nintendo's excellent retail performance has held firm for yet another week, with a bunch of Switch titles occupying the top 10.
Cadence of Hyrule was arguably the week's biggest physical release on Switch, but it could sadly only manage position 37 in the chart.
Here's a look at this week's top ten all formats chart:
Last Week | This Week | Title |
---|---|---|
1 | 1 | FIFA 21 |
2 | 2 | Animal Crossing: New Horizons |
4 | 3 | |
3 | 4 | Mario Kart 8 Deluxe |
6 | 5 | Super Mario 3D All-Stars |
5 | 6 | Ring Fit Adventure |
11 | 7 | Minecraft Dungeons |
9 | 8 |
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time |
10 | 9 | Grand Theft Auto V |
12 | 10 | Marvel's Avengers |

Can't say I bought any of those. I did buy Cadence though 😁
Brought Cadence to have everything on cartridge, but I can't say I am too surprised it is not doing so well. Despite the Zelda content, it feels ultimately a niche game.
The lack of physical sales here can probably be chalked up to the game being available digitally over a year ago.
That provides interesting insight into the security of physical sales, if they aren't available at the same time as a digital launch.
@RupeeClock But some of us hold out for the physical. Been waiting for Goose Game, and just got email a week ago it's on it's way.
Was the same with Hollow Knight, didnt play it until the physical came out.
A shame that Luigi's Mansion 3 didn't make a reappearance for the one year anniversary since it's release.
I love Cadence but I think Nintendo would have been more successful if they made a Zelda Roguelike with traditional Zelda Gameplay. A Zelda-Binding Of Isaac crossover would have sure been a hit.
@Bunkerneath That's true but that group will continue to dwindle over time. It's already a small group. But let's enjoy physical copies while we have them. Love me some discs and cartridges!
Cadence of Hyrule is a small indie game with the Zelda name on it that is out for a while now
It make a lot of sense that it is not breaking sales records
This is fine
It's almost disingenuous highlighting Fifa 21 in red lol.
I picked up Cadence of Hyrule physical, but I imagine the majority of people who wanted this got it already when it was on sale on the eshop. Not a shock that a physical title released so long after digital release wouldn't have such wide appeal.
Yeah its not the switch version of fifa leading those sales...
Too bad Crash didn’t make more of a dent considering the N. Sane trilogy did... insane in the UK. Was it because it was a PS exclusive or do more people just want to play old games?
A Spiro sequel of some ambition would be cool, but not sure Activision would think it’s profitable enough.
I dont think many thought it would ever get a physical release and not many would need to own it twice.
Nintendo are doing so well in the UK right now and I’m delighted to see it.
The one thing that keeps surprising me is that GTA V is still on the top 10.
GTA V found a way back for some reason.
As for Cadence of Hyrule: The physical release came to late, we all have the downloaded version already. If it where cheaper I might still have gotten the physical version, but as it stands now I might just download the dlc someday for my download version.
