In an industry where delays have almost become the expected thing for new releases, indie publisher Modus Games has revealed that Remothered: Broken Porcelain will be doing the opposite, launching earlier than originally planned. Ah, that feels better.
The game's original release date of 20th October has been scrapped, with the team now heading for a 13th October launch. Shane Bierwith, EVP of global marketing at Modus, explains that a busy month ahead is to blame.
"This is an incredibly busy month for games, particularly horror games. While moving dates forward isn’t common, we’d like to allow horror fans to get their hands on Broken Porcelain early so players can have more time to experience all the great games releasing around Halloween."
Hey, we won't complain!
If you're only now hearing about this for the first time, Remothered: Broken Porcelain acts as both prequel and sequel to its predecessor, Remothered: Tormented Fathers. The new title is said to "weave events from the first entry into this all-new experience that pulls fans and newcomers alike into an incredibly immersive and haunting experience".
Will you be giving this one a go on Switch? Let us know in the usual place.

The first game made me realize that I'm sick and tired of the survival horror genre. They have to do something out of the ordinary with this one to lure me in...
Looks interesting. I'll wait for the reviews to come out first before getting it.
First games ending was legendary, the gameplay though, not so much.
Hoping this will live up to the trailers~
Nice, a horror game that DOESN'T release in the last week of October. I've deferred a lot of scary games to the next year because they decided to go toe-to-toe with other Halloween events I had planned at the end of the month. Granted, this year is completely different (zero events with friends), but still!
Got the first hoping was going to be great but no!!.
I will wait for a review I think .
Good timing. I picked up Remothered: Tormented Fathers a month or so ago. I'll start playing it in October to be prepped for the sequel/prequel. Day one purchase for me.
. . .I had a dream .. . when Quake and Silent Hill and Alan Wake made it to Switch . .
Hope it’s good; definitely looks interesting.
They had to move it forward because there is a very short release window between Covid19 wave 1 and the combination of the 2nd wave and Covid20
the 1st half of the 1st game was soooo nerve wracking!!!
@mp_72 I would be ok with SH 1-4 as a package. The Room was frustrating towards the end, but had some of the most personal character development (outside of 2) of the entire series. Really felt like you were fighting for something, if only your own survival.
Origins and Homecoming can keep to themselves. Downpour was alright, but felt only marginally silent-hillesque. Could have been it's own IP honestly.
@aznable 3 was so disappointing after 2. The Room was more memorable than 3 imo.
What the hell does remothered even mean?
I played the first one for a bit and hated it. You are in the same damn house all game long running up and down the stairs to solve contrived puzzles, gameplay rarely changes, and it's very ugly looking. -_-
The 2nd game needs to be a lot better for me to give it a chance.
Seems worth playing after watching some gameplay demo video on youtube! Can't wait for it to be released !!
